Birthday cake - celebrate your birthday every day of the week!
    Nancy L.

I wish I wasn't in such a frenzy, but I am. And the more times I stopped in this friendly, locally owned ice cream shop, the more frenzied I became. This shop used to be the former Uncle Harry's which I never had the pleasure of visiting probably because my ice cream cravings didn't develop until this past summer. I know you're thinking, 'really..who are you kidding' but I speak the truth. I rarely ate the stuff...and now that summer has turned into winter, I'm still goin strong. Good selection of flavors (yes, everything is made in house) about half the amount of Baskin Robbins (I didn't count). Non-dairy Italian ice (seasonal only), waffle cones, ice cream cakes & pies, even a coffee bar. I've tried around 5 including 2 Italian ice. I found some flavors to be better than others. Currently, I am totally frenzified on their Apple Pie, in fact I even bought a pint all for myself. Ooomyflavorfrenzy, if you're a lover of apple pie, this is a MUST try. It might even be better than a slice. Bits of apple, graham cracker & hints of cinnamon heavily swirled in a most flavorful vanilla. This is PACKED with all things apple pie. One of the best here. Birthday Cake was my favorite until Apple pie came along. Bursting with flavor. Superman is good & I especially dig the colors, but it's not as frenzalicious as the other two. Rainbow sherbet is delish. I hadn't had this since I was a tadpole I think. Really creamy and fruity. If you're unsure of your flavor, they'll happily give you a taste. They were testing Chocolate Italian ice on one of our visits and I have to give them props on this. They nailed the chocolately flavor. Hope they bring this back. Lemon ice was solid and worth getting again. I love that when I grab my ice cream out of the freezer it remains creamy and not a frozen block that I risk spraining my wrist on just to reap a measly sliver...I taste quality here. So much so that half of my pint is already gone. Prices are so reasonable, it's easy to take home two pints. Really welcoming vibe. In fact, once a week during Halloween they get their spook on with festive lights, music and ghoulish decorations. How cool is that? I'm not sure anyone would be disappointed stopping in here and heck, Portillo's is just steps away so after you gorge on your beef & dog, keep the frenzy going with a sweet, creamy treat.

Just opened May 1st. Cute ice cream parlor with housemade Italian Ice. (Dairy Free Option) They have cakes, cupcakes and other desserts. 24 ice cream flavors and 8 Italian Ices to choose from. Friendly owner and staff who will offer you a sample of any flavor. I tried 4 and enjoyed the strawberry-lemon and pina colada Italian Ice. There were lots of pineapple chunks, very refreshing. If you're in the area, give them a try, I know I will again.

What a great addition to Addison! I really like their flavors. They seem to be unique. My favorite so far is the raspberry chocolate chip. The Italian ice is pretty good as well. I personally didn't try it, but my kids did. Employees and owner seem really nice. Glad we have this in the neighborhood.

Remember Uncle Harry's? (the REAL Uncle Harry's)... It's back!!! Well, kinda-sorta. Close enough, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe even better? Time will tell. The owner (Steve) of Flavor Frenzy has collaborated with the previous owner of Uncle Harry's (before it took a turn for the worse in late 2018 under new ownership) and now Addison has the ice cream shop it deserves. You'll find many of the original, beloved concepts, such as the Vito Special and the Kenny Special, alongside favorite ice cream flavors, new sundaes, and a good selection of Italian ices. You can still get great tasting lattes, too. Lief and his wife have been working there to get everyone up to speed, so it has much of the feel of the original ice cream spot that people remember. But there have been some upgrades, too. Besides the new name, you'll see the face of the new owner there. He's working hard to make sure everything is going well and that people are happy. He's also upgraded the inside, so now it's bright and modern, but still whimsical and welcoming. I hope to see Flavor Frenzy stick around for many more years so I don't have to drive 20+ minutes for really good ice cream.

    The pie that saved Christmas!

Was Christmas ruined? Planned on making a wonderful dessert for Christmas day for the family. Did not read the recipe completely until Christmas morning and found we did not have the springform pan needed. Plan B, make a different familiar recipe, just needed one ingredient. Could not find any place open that sold springform pans or the one ingredient for the other recipe. I made an emergency post on an Addison Facebook group. Flavor Frenzy saw the post and said they would drive the 30 minutes to Addison to open for 1/2 and hour for me and anyone else that needed a last minute dessert. Not only did I get a wonderful dessert, but I was also told I could borrow their springform pan!! Now THAT is customer service!! Christmas was saved!!!

Sweet N Brew has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with a European-style cafe feel. When we visited, we were the only ones sitting inside for a while. Several pick-up orders were coming and going, but having the space mostly to ourselves made the experience feel calm and relaxing. I ordered an iced caramel latte, and the owner, who was also working the counter, asked how sweet I preferred my drinks. She even mentioned she could adjust the flavor if needed. The latte was absolutely perfect on the first try. It was creamy, smooth, and well-balanced without being overly sweet. I also ordered a scoop of coffee gelato in a cone, which paired beautifully with my drink and tasted rich and authentic. What really stood out was the owner herself. She made friendly conversation while taking my order, and it was clear how passionate she is about her business and the quality of what she serves. That personal touch made the visit even more memorable. I do wish this spot were closer to me since I live in Schaumburg, but it is absolutely worth the drive. I cannot wait to come back and would highly recommend Sweet N Brew to anyone looking for great coffee, delicious gelato, and genuinely warm service. It is truly a hidden gem, and I am so glad I found it.

So the space here is mostly taken up with pizza boxes and a long food service table, with a narrowish aisle to order your food / desserts. They have meatballs; various pizza slices and whole pizzas (unlike the new place next door, they'll serve you slices all day); lasagna and manicotti. There are other things but I'm a vegetarian so I zone out the minute I see "sausage." Vegetarian? They default to a marinara red sauce and vegetable is one of the default slices. I didn't see eggplant parmesan on the menu, but they told me if I ask for it (advance notice would be helpful) they'll make it. Entrees are served hot. The manicotti and lasagna are delicious; the manicotti is not a big pan but a take-out container with two manicotti rolls; will feed one hungry person but wouldn't be enough for two people. Service is still friendly although the space is now a little cramped. The cake and gelato, etc. are still delicious, so I stand by everything I said about dessert in my earlier review.

The ice cream flavors were tasty. The Mango Lassi was better between the two. It captured the taste of Lassi nicely. I have had better Ube flavor ice cream elsewhere. As for the donuts, they were nice in general but a bit too sweet for my liking (except for the Oreo Cake one). My favorite donut was the Oreo Cake one followed by the Tropical Mango one. Overall, I had a nice experience. I recommend checking out Sweet Circle, if you haven't before.
