This guys good at what he does. Came in and explained him exactly what I wanted and left with what I had imagined. Did not overcut and was very diligent and asked me am I good with this place, do you want me to do this area, etc. I took a risk because I needed a urgent haircut and gave flawless a shot. The cool thing is he closes at 10pm while everybody else closes at seven thirty or eight. Not gonna lie it was a bit pricey but to be honest, I did not mind at all. He was a chill guy, cool conversations, quiet space. I see some negative comments and people need to wake up and understand that in this world, you pay for what you get for. I'm female and wanted a feminine buzz with a side part. I went in Flawless' shop on a whim (the last barber on 148th street wouldn't even acknowledge my presence, and I was one of two people there). Flawless saw me right away. Now I've had a short buzz twice before and at different places and I THOUGHT they did a good job, until this man put his clippers to my head! I am soo sooooo pleased with my look. He gave me exactly what I wanted, but I also think he has some sort of technique or something with his clippers because it looks so good. As I looked for a photo of the haircut I wanted, I scrolled past a picture of me with a pride flag and Flawless assumed my sexual orientation and began to threaten me by saying things like he'd "gut me like a pig." I deescalated the situation by remaining calm and friendly, but I feared for my safety. Once he calmed down, all I heard about for the remainder of my time there was how he wanted segregation between the races and those of a different sexual orientation, and other bigoted ideologies. On top of all of that, I left with my hair looking no better than when I came in. Forty dollars wasted (I had paid in advance). This man is dangerous and unprofessional. Stay away. read more

My brother came here & he was telling me how it was the worst experience that he has ever had anywhere... "All the barber talked about was political/controversial/racist stuff...not welcoming whatsoever.. I looked in the mirror and saw my fade didn't match... and if I didn't tell him he would've let me walk out the store looking crazy Dirty place but wanted to give it a chance because of all the good reviews $30 for just a fade $40 if you want the top touched... Guy doesn't even cut your hair he just talks to whoever else is in the shop at the time and pretends to cut your hair while holding your neck in the same spot for 30 minutes straight (bring Advil)... no consideration for the actually customer in the chair. I found the shop online and I was able to schedule an appointment through his website. The cut was flawless(cliche). This brother did a wonderful job on my head. We had a great thought provoking conversation! I will be back to see this brother during the duration of my stay in the NY area and if I ever move here, this will become my barber! Update 10/30/17: I was contacted by Yelp regarding this and I just want to make sure people are aware that the comments left by "Flawless" regarding me are incorrect. I hoped/intended for the business owner to accept the not-so-positive review as a way of improving his interactions with customers. I would have no reason to continue to respond to this other than to let other customers have another opinion before making a decision - because that's what Yelp is for. I had a bad experience here. I've had an even worse one by leaving a review. If you're considering spending your money here, I personally believe you can receive better service somewhere else (at a fraction of the cost) as my experience here was not the same as other "customers" who have left reviews. I hope this interaction and the lies about being arrested (part time teacher/part time business owner here) are evidence to you as a potential customer reading this of the type of business owner you'd be supporting if you choose to spend your money here. --- The owner wants to go ahead and call me a fake customer and a thug. I came in on October 10. Refused to write a review for a while because of how creeped out I was by this business operation. Just moved to the area and told him I was looking to establish a relationship with a solid barber. Trust me. I teach in the area. Live and work walking distance from the business. In fact I pass it everyday on my way to work. Not trying to defend my review but just warning other customers - you never see a business owner try to defend themselves unless they're doing something wrong. What happened to customer service/customer being right? Why can't I be an unhappy customer and why can't this business owner fess up to this experience and ask the customer for a second chance to gain their business? Because it's not a legit place run by legit people. Most of the other reviews are older than mine or from people who only have 1-8 reviews total (mostly on the lower end of that spectrum). Do your research y'all. A barber is just asking/coercing/scaring Customers into leaving better reviews. I won't go as low as to call anyone a thug, but I never have felt scared leaving a business.
