After a while it cooled off significantly so I think they turned the A/C on when I arrived. I thought I read there was supposed to be aromatherapy during the massage, but if there was I didn't get that experience. I also had to wait 10 minutes for their masseuse to arrive and wasn't given the option between male or female, so they gave me a guy which was awkward for me as I (female) was completely naked and felt exposed at times. He did do a nice job though. I read other reviews saying they didn't have privacy, but that wasn't my experience. I had privacy to change and while getting my massage, the door was closed and they knocked before coming in. Came here at the rec of my baby bro. We decided to come here after a fam dinner. It was about 9p and the four of us were split in twos into two separate rooms. We didn't know what to expect since all my bro did was laugh before we went into our separate rooms. Overall, I was satisfied with the amount of pressure given. I'm still puzzled with some of the tactics they used, however. You get a foot massage, face/scalp/neck massage, back and leg massage. All great, but then you get stretched out in various positions, which may feel uncomfortable for some. When I was asked to lay flat on my stomach, they asked you to remove your clothing (shirt/bra) - totally unexpected since the doors leading into the room were wide open. Haven't visited in a long time but we made an appointment at 500pm for 530pm. The receptionist said they were running a $30 special that included 30 minutes of back and 30 minutes of feet. Nice little message place. It is located in a plaza on the 2nd floor. There is plenty of parking. The inside is dimly lighted with some peaceful, tranquil music playing in the background. Unless they are super busy, you can drop in for a quick massage. There are 3 separate rooms. The restroom is in the far back and is well maintained. They specialize in foot massages, but they also have options for full body massages. As I was waiting for my friend to finish, I decided to take get a quick 30 minute foot massage. I was taken to one of the separate rooms where my foot was dipped into a bucket full of water for 5 minutes. Afterwards, the massage began. This was my third visit to this massage place. All my experiences have been good. The prices are great compared to most other massage parlors, which is probably why I keep coming back. I took 3 other people to this same place, and we all had different experiences. The place is clean inside, although the walls between the rooms are very thin, so you can hear customers coming in and out of this business. Another thing that was just a little but annoying was that the phone kept ringing during our massage. The lady giving my friend a massage had to keep getting up to answer. It's a little unprofessional to get up in the middle of a session to pick up a phone call. My recommendation is to hire or assign someone as a receptionist. But I do give the lady credit for being very nice. My recommendation for customers is to call in advance to schedule an appointment so you are not waiting too long. That was another thing that went well...we had an appointment for 4 people scheduled at 3:30, and we arrived around 3:10, and we got our massages right away. Also, one member of our party is pregnant, but they were still able to do accomodate her and give her a massage without any problems. One other downside is that some rooms are set up with about 4 beds, so sometimes you could be put into a room with someone you dont know, which could be a little awkward considering there are no curtains or anything to stand behind while undressing. The $20 massages are usually pretty good for me and I can tell when they're good because I often doze off. We went to FLC Massage after Angel Massage tried to force us to upgrade to a $40 massage instead of a $20 massage. We called FLC and they had availabilty and took us in right away. We asked for a private room for myself and my husband, so it was nice and quiet. For a $20 massage they actually have you take your shirt/bra all the way off and use oils on you. They do your whole body, not just the feet. This is one of my favorite massage places! The atmosphere is very calming and everyone who works there is friendly and professional. The prices are incredible for all that you get! Be sure to ask for the person you want, they typically will have men massage women and visa versa so speak up about what you're comfortable with! The full body massage is heaven on earth and almost always includes a foot wash, hot rocks, lotion and oil. They will expect you to strip down to your underwear (and will remove your bra if you don't) so don't be caught off guard but the in depth massage is absolutely worth it and wonderful! For $20 you can't beat this spot. It's legit and they do a really good job. Only one time have I come in and needed an appointment. They will adjust the massage to your needs if you think it's too rough or whatnot. I've never had an awful massage from this spot and always fell amazing afterwards. Yeah you might have a little more oil left between your toes but it's okay it's worth it. They usually start off with a head massage (face up) while your feet soak and relaxing warm/hot water and work they're way to your shoulders and arms. Then it's onto your feet and legs where they are dried and worked on with oil. I personally don't like the part where they run one knuckle down the middle of the foot so I let them know beforehand and I've had no problems. Once the bottom half is done and cleaned up they flip you over onto your stomach and go to work on your back. And I'm talking hands, fingers, elbows, arms, whatever. They do great work. After a final overall massage and clean you're all set! There are other good and legit $20 spots in San Diego but this place isn't too far from me. One of my close friends was raving about this place he went to after his first time snowboarding and he absolutely loved them. So this morning when my boyfriend and I woke up with sore necks we decided to try this place (his neck was much worse than mine, he could barely move his head). My boyfriend and I both decided to get the "Combo Special" which is 35 min on your head, neck, back and arms and 35 min foot massage for $30. Seemed liked the best deal so we went with that. First off the ambiance is below mediocre at this place. Yeah, the lights are dim and there is soothing music playing in the background but the walls of the rooms do not go all the way up to the ceiling so you hear a lot of the chatter of new customers and people going in and out. My boyfriend and I walk into the first room and there are 4 beds in the room, we removed our tops and hung them on the wall. This BY FAR bothered me the most, they didn't even bother to close the door to our room! As my masseuse was working on my shoulders (I was laying faced up) I could see the door gaping open. UGH. Anyone who walks into the massage studio can clearly see us, especially since we were in the first room. This made me very uncomfortable since I was basically topless with a towel as my mini blanket. I've had a Chinese massage with my mom before, but I definitely did not get what I expected. My masseuse was rough way to painful for my taste. I would have rated this business better if they at least alleviated my boyfriend's neck pain, but they didn't even do that! Yeah he said it was a little better but I was hoping for much more than that. It was also very awkward trying to put my bra and shirt back on since there was another male masseuse and female client in the same room as we finished our massages. When Giving a tip I usually tip 5$ for a 20$ foot massage because that is what I have been accustomed to from other Chinese massage foot massages, but as I willingly gave my receipt back and was hoping to just get out of there, the grumpy old masseur screamed in Chinese to the front desk guy and kept pointing at my receipt and yelling "TIP MORE! TIP MORE!!" TIP 10$!" I was surprised at how rude and demanding they were. The front desk guy showed me his paper and said that they "usually tip 10$ per massage here". At that time I was about to scratch out my 5$ tip and give them a 0$ tip, but there was a group of 5 of them surrounding us so I felt very uncomfortable and "forced" to give a tip(which is supposed to be complimentary).
