Oh Helllll to da nah!!! Went there with the husband. Just asked for the 1 hr foot massage. we got 2 young guys (wish we got their names). Barely spoke English. Took us to the back with dim lights in an open area with 3 or 4 beds. We faced the private rooms next to the bathroom and office. They soaked our feet as they massaged our front side. I have a bit of a booty so my lower back was arched in mid air as my feet were down in the bucket of semi luke warm water. :0( I asked for a pillow for my back. It was a baby pillow so it was no use. Back massage sucked. Homie was a smoker. I can smell it on his fingers and the coughing also gave it away. Wat da deuce?! Different methods on each side. no pressure even when I said harder. When it was time for my back, they said "takea shirt off." I said "huh?" I only asked because we were in an open area not a private room. They then proceeded to do the motion of removing a shirt. I complied. Then he said "takea (hand motion) off to." I said "what?" He pulled on my bra strap and as I sat up shirtless in a bed sheet with hubby already half neeked, I gave him the stare of death. He said "Do you feel comfortable doing it? If you do, do it." Thanks husband... I did only because husband said it outloud and not by mind reading. O_O So I laid on my front, spread the bed sheet over as I try to wiggle the bra off. Homie dives into the sheets and tries to "help" me take my hooks off. Not working.... I said "I got it" I was about to put my bra under me when he grabs it and looks at his other homie who was massaging husband then hangs it with my shirt for all passerbyers to see. I have never written a review before, but I feel that it's necessary after what happened today. I've been going to this place for about three years now and it's always a hit or miss, not to mention the occasional rudeness and weird things that you see their employees do. The reason I'm writing this is because of the massage I got today. It was just horrible. I'm not picky about who I got my massage from, so when I walked in today, the guy who I usually see on the front desk (somewhat tall, old, Chinese guy with glasses taking payments & making reservations) told me that he will be the one giving me a massage today. He brought me to the room where I was going to get my massage and as soon as I took my shirt off, he rudely told me and gestured to put my feet in the warm water like he was rushing. As he started massaging me, I noticed that he's extremely doing it hard. Like digging his elbow and fingers in my joints. Now, I know some of you might think that that's just how these massages work, so let me just tell you that I'm not new to this kind of massage. I grew up getting massages like these. Anyway, I told him to take it easy and he didn't even say a damn thing and just kept going. The worst part is, his nails were so long that he scratched my shoulders! His massage was also half assed and I can tell he's rushing. When he got to my arm, after he massages it, he then "threw" it right back on top of my body. Hm. It's not really a pleasant, relaxing feeling, and honestly I feel disrespected. When he got to my legs, he all of a sudden have me a few quick "pats" on the shin. As I got up and looked at him, he told me, "Relax ! Relax your legs!" No, not in a nice, calm manner. After he massaged both, he almost slammed my legs back on the massage table. I had my eyes closed at this time, trying to relax and maybe take a nap. All of a sudden, the pillow was pulled underneath my head! When I opened my eyes, he then told me to turn over. That was the last straw for me. I finished the massage (he wouldn't leave the room until I get up and put my clothes on and leave), paid him the amount of the massage and even tipped him to be polite. Why not? Well the thing is it wasn't a foot and back massage... it was a TOTAL BODY massage! face, head, neck, shoulders, back, legs, feet... It's not a spa though, so be prepared. NO pampering... zero. But that's okay for me today. I was there for therapy, a need, not luxury frou frou. So if you're looking for robes and water with fruit in it etc... you want a resort, not a massage. I walked in, asked about the $20 massage. With no wait time and no appt. I was led to a room with four tables, 2 already occupied. Lights were dimmed. They gave me a male, but I didn't mind because it was public with the other therapists and patients. the therapists wore something similar to scrubs. I'm actually glad now that it was a male because I could tell he had to work hard to get the knots out of my legs and back. Nothing weird here. I almost felt badly because he was using his elbow (the hardest part of ones body) to grind the knots out of my back and it seemed like he needed to exert a lot of effort. Poor guy probably had no idea lil ol me would be such a tough client (thanks to my workouts P90x, Insanity, Turbo Fire, Revabs! LOL) His name Woody and I recommend to even ask for him if you go. He doesn't speak a lot of English, I gather because the most he said was 'Turn over Lady' (Kind of reminded me of how Andre the Giant would call Robin Penn 'Lady' in the 'Princess Bride'- awww... endearing) There are some stretching moves he does with your arms and back and legs, and it can be painful, so remember to BREATHE and try to relax, and if you don't want it too stretched, I suggest to tell him up front to be gentle. I on the other hand needed it, even if it was a tad painful. A couple other odd things -but for the price, who cares- like when he answered his bluetooth for a moment and spoke chinese (I think it was chinese). It was distracting but not enough to ruin the whole experience. It's $20 bucks... I'll live. I felt great when I left and I knew he worked hard and I know that the only other inexpensive massages run even $45 so I gave a hefty tip even though it was only $20. Even then I still paid less than the other places. The cards and flyers call this place 'FC Foot Massage' but it seems everyone posted for them under H&N Foot Care. If you want a massage and don't mind it being non-luxurious... give this place a try. read more

I generally love this place but, with recent expansion, I notice that the quality is going downhill fast. They only charge $20/hr for a Chinese foot massage, which is about the same price as other shops, but is still a great value, if done right. Problems I saw last night: 1) Confusion among staff as to who was working on whom 2) No English speakers on staff 3) Inexperienced operators with inconsistent technique 4) Cool to tepid foot bath water 5) Use of COLD wet towels to wipe oil off 6) Poor quality massage with inconsistent pressure and inconsistent technique side to side 7) Snotty attitude of my operator, at least There are many Chinese foot massage places in Mira Mesa. My husband and I tried this place. We both got the $20 1 hour foot massage. Service was prompt once we arrived. We were in a room within minutes. They had a pomeranian dog in the waiting room...which was fine (and it was cute) but I found this a bit unprofessional. The room we were placed in looked clean, but smelled musty and old. The foot massage included head, neck, shoulder and leg massage. We were assigned 2 males. The one assigned to my hubby smelled like cigarettes. Everything BUT the foot massage felt good. The foot massage was a bit painful and they didn't hit the spots we would have thought they would. We paid cash...tried to get change so we could tip but they claimed they only had $10s in change and no other bills. It seemed a bit shady. Overall..it was ok. We will most likely not return and stick to our usual foot massage place. You get what you pay for. read more

This place used to be awesome. I came back recently and they appear to be under new ownership. They don't care about you having a relaxing time. The woman massaging me talked to her co-worker during the majority of my massage. The door seemed to open and close whenever. I wish I could give this place negative ratings! My first experience was not so bad, because it was with a group of friends and it was by a previous owner that ran the business. But I've tried going there twice after that and walked out with no massage and a ridiculous customer treatment. My decision is that I am never going back as this is by far the most unprofessional massage place I've been to ever! There is no understanding of customer service or customer satisfaction. Here are some CONS: 1. No concept of appointment. Even if you call WAY ahead and request a time and a preference of gender of the person giving you the massage, they do not care. Simply put. This happened twice to me, once with a group and another time when I went just by myself. There is no appointment calendar of any kind. 2. Language issue - The guy at the front desk cannot speak English. Period. He just shows you the next available slot on a piece of paper. Even if you try to tell him that you called and got an appointment, its the same action with a sheepish smile. 3. Unprofessional massage therapists - Whether its male or female, you are bound to experience one of this. Male - Smell of cigarette. They work really close to you and you cannot relax with all the aftermath stink of smoking. If you choose a female, you need to bear with all the talking with the adjacent massage therapists. There is not a single second of relaxation or peace happening. 4. Undressing of customers - Yes, they will take off your shirt and unhook your bra. Be prepared. Worse, all this with the doors wide open or with 4 other customers in the same room. 5. Payment and Tips - You will find at least 4 people magically surround you when you are about to pay looking for the tip amount in your bill or your purse. Pro: 1. They charge 20 or 30 bucks for a 60 minute massage, but its like a cow shed where the cattle just lay there in the open half-naked and people walk in and out like nobody's business. Cons: had trouble communicating with masseuse, his fingers smelt of cigarettes (which is awkward when he is massaging your face), noisy (I hear every conversation, footsteps in the hallway and up the stairs) even though I had a private room, really too much massage pressure to it was painful and not relaxing. What a terrible experience. No means to the vigorous rub I got, just way to much oil and no real skill. I would recommend spending the extra $5 dollars and go to Zenspa, it is way better and much cleaner. The lady I had looked like a sumo wrestler but just vigorously rubbed my body with no plan. I left their feeling mad with no sense of enjoyment. The people at the front desk were very lack luster and the table is crap. I have had many massages in my time and this tops it as the worst. I have lived in Mira Mesa for over 15 years. Within this time, I have gone and referred family and friends to HC Foot Massage. They are close to home and the price has always been reasonable. Last night, my back was hurting so I went for a massage (it has been awhile since I have had gone). Since my last visit their prices have went up. I wasn't thrilled by this, but this is California...prices are always going up. The massage therapist was really good and she had even remembered me from a previous visit. As I lay, enjoying the massage I thought, I need to start coming here regularly. After my massage is what I didn't like or appreciate. The receptionist motions me to come over to the counter and points to the total on the credit card receipt. Which I had paid with my credit card beforehand (and charged an extra dollar because they charge if you use a credit card). I had also tipped 20% BEFORE the massage. I don't mind tipping for good service. The receptionist then informs me that they require a ten-dollar tip or 25% for a full body massage. I could not believe it! Suggested... Yes REQUIRED...NOOOO. It is up to the customer's discretion upon tipping not the place of business. Well.... I will NEVER recommend nor will I ever get a massage from this place again. Wow! This had to be the best 60 min full body massage i've ever had. Ample time was spent on every part of my body including, but not limited to, my hands, scalp, and feet! The Masseuse was very kind and used the perfect level of pressure throughout the entire massage. FC Reflexology is very clean and quite. We walked in around 11 am and were escorted back right away to begin our massage. Only two critisisms: 1: was the occasional conversation the Masseuse would have with her co-worker throughout the massage 2: the required minimum $5 tip when using a credit card. Minimal English, very good massage. Be prepared to be half naked even in the group room once you flip onto your back. If you do the whole body $40 body massage, plan to go totally naked. (Modesty seems to be a lower priority to them, but you are covered with a smallish towel.) They seem to expect a $10 tip for 1 hr's work. Clean, quiet, minimal conversation! (That's a prereq for me.) Traditional Chinese massage seems to be pretty heavy pressure, but they notice that Americans get upset when they do the regular pressure, so you may need to ask for more pressure if that's your preference. read more

2 words....Completely unprofessional. My wife made an appointment for 3 people at 5:30. We show up and the place is full. Some guy comes over and asks us which massage we want, we tell him 20$ for 60 minutes. He tries to sell is the 30$ one we tell him no and we go sit and wait. I was a bit nervous when I first arrived because the outside looks like it could be a front for another type of illegal activity if you know what I mean. Boy was I surprised! These people are licensed massage techs. The inside of the place is cute..you feel like you are in China! And I cannot say enough about what an amazing massage I paid for the foot massage (20 bucks!) but felt like I received a whole body massage. This was the best twenty dollars I have spent in years. I followed the lead of another poster here on Yelp and gave a 10 dollar tip because trust me...the massage therapist deserved it. I will never go to an expensive 120.00 massage at a spa again. Not the best massage place I've been too. The young lady I got was not strong enough when giving massages. When it came to my back, that was probably the strongest she was but not enough to make a difference. She gave me a regular routinely full body massage but neglected the tense spots on my back. I like it where the muses works out your knots rather than just does a routine massage. My knots are still there but I can at least turn my head now. She doesn't smile either, it's pretty awkward when you start and finish because little words are spoken. We decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews. It's the Wilmar of massages. You get a good product but nothing fancy. There was dark rooms and a lot of slapping and hitting. We came through very relaxed. The only complaint was we tipped but then was told we didn't tip enough and was told to tip more- very strange. Theres no sign that said you had to tip anything. Then they splash you with oil and give you a vigorous rub down, not a massage but a rub down. Finally to get the oil off thy use sand paper like towels to wipe you down to ensure your skin comes off. The one under and on top are the same all day long). Massage this week was a little too gentle, but not complaining. There were two of us in the same room. This place used to be my favorite place but I keep getting the same lady every time. First off, she does not hang the towel up high enough for taking off my shirt. Second, she isn't relaxing at all. She is going so fast that she feels like she is racing. Third, she does the same thing for nearly the whole massage. She rubs. Mainly with her arm. Over my spine. She has no idea how to massage and I seriously could do better. Oh and finally, when I go to tip, she mad dogs me for not tipping 10 or more for her horrible massage. I have to vent!!!! Im sooo pissed, I have been going to this place for a while tonight I thought Id end my weekend with a massage, its been a long weekend started friday a much needed massage will make it all go away, I came in a little after 9, and I got a grumpy old man that kept talking to other people outside the room he sounds like he complaining or something, they usually spend a good amount of time with your face this dude just massaged my eyebrows! I came in with a lower back pain left the place with not only the lower back pain i came in with but now with a freaking stiff neck, ugh the only thing he did right was my foot which by the way was soaked in cold water, well ok colder than what they usually do.... like i said Ive been going to this place they usually are nice and I give very generous tip since the massage it self is cheap I can tip them generously and still save money than going to other places.. but man tonight I was so close in not giving the grumpy old man a tip I am PISSED.. but I still did. so I guess going here its really just hit or miss, its what you get with how much you pay. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. so cheap and actually a good relaxing massage. i always recommend this place to friends and they fall in love too... $20 for a full body massage ad a $10 tip... good deal...they soak your feet so your feet wont get cold and than oil you down with delicious smelling oil... if your a female always ask for a girl... i always call ahead and ask for the stronger ones so i can get more of a deep tissue massage.. the only bad parts is that if your placed near the front you may be able to hear the people walking in and out.. and also if you come in a group of 2, you could be placed in a room with 4 chairs meaning you could be getting a massage being next to a complete stranger....also after your massage the person who massages you literally escorts you to the front desk to pay, they give you a cup of water and then stand there literally waiting for a tip!....but good place overall...def worth the price! read more

You can't beat the price. It says $20/hour, but I felt like they took their time and made sure they hit every spot on the body. They start from your head while soaking your feet in warm water. They massage the face, scalp, and neck areas. Onward to the arms and hands then to your feet and calves, which is way better than any pedicure I've ever had. For $20 you're really getting what you're paying for. The person giving me my massage was a bit too rough at times so it hurt more than felt relaxing but I'm sure if you tell them to be more gentle they will. They also really don't speak much English but it was okay for me because I can speak enough Chinese to communicate. I will give it another try though but I'll be requesting a woman this time. This place is really popular though, after I came out of my room, all the seats in BOTH waiting rooms were full!
