Tried to book my usual massage with Owen (he's amazing -- professional, no phone, no unnecessary talking), but he's on vacation. The owner recommended Michael, but last minute Joy walked into the room instead. She said Michael wasn't available and asked if I could give her a chance. I said okay. But honestly... it wasn't great. Right away she asked not to do my legs -- I said no, I booked a full body massage, and I especially needed focus on my shoulders and neck. Her phone kept vibrating during the session, and it felt like she was texting. I had to ask her not to use her phone while massaging. Then she started talking about her Cuban husband -- I mean, okay, share if you want, but she kept pausing the massage to talk. I told her I preferred not to talk and just relax. Around 35 minutes in, she asked, "Do you want me to massage your legs?" Then with 10 minutes left: "Do you want to turn over?" and "What should I do now?" I was confused -- if I booked a full body massage, why do I need to keep clarifying every 10 minutes what's included? I even asked if she was experienced. Still not sure how I feel about Joy, but I definitely missed Owen's calm, focused, professional approach. I wish I could go back and not have this upsetting experience w joy. read more

Just had the best massage here with Mike! I've been several times & they always make it quick & easy to get in for a massage last minute by texting them. Everyone was very nice & courteous. Mike had very strong hands & helped my feet & neck so much. They've been aching for months as I'm a nurse & on my feet all of the time. Its been years since I went here....but nothing has changed, they are EXCELLENT! I had a knot in my left neck/shoulder area and told Owen about it as soon as he came in the room. He worked on every single part of my body including my scalp and toes! The knot is gone! The place is extremely clean, the music is so relaxing, I bought a package! The shop in Rancho Penasquitos is clean and professional and I look forward to my regular massages. I've had massages all over the world and my preference is right in my neighborhood. I've gone here three times and every time I've reveived a substandard massage and the owner refuses to whisper when he's dealing with clients and employees. It's so loud and outright obnoxious. The blankets are not cleaned after each client and the place reeks of glade plug-ins so strongly that it burns my nose and gives me a headache. read more

My wife prepaid $200 for a series of massages and "Sonny" would not honor it when she went back and actually said she was in the wrong place and had never seen her even though she got a massage two weeks prior. They ask you to pay before your massage including the tip. I left a conservative tip not knowing what to expect on my first visit. Massage was fine. For an inexpensive massage, you get what you pay for. On the way out however I was harassed by two of the workers to leave more money for the tip. Bao Sheng is under new management. Now that they are settled in, I have noticed some positive changes including their pricing. Their new spa packages prices allows me to return more often. This makes me very happy. I'm on the computer all day. This causes shoulder & back pain and of course headaches from eye fatigue. I highly recommend Owen! This is really for deep tissue massage and Sunny did an excellent job on my upper and lower back. He also spent time taking care of my neck and shoulder nicely. At the vons by my pad off Blk mtn.. clean and the best, I stopped doing full body after I first started here.. for a 60 min foot massage $35 had to raise prices from $29 but they do your whole body and trust me.. I been going for 6yrs here 2-3 times a month.. the only massage I get to take away all toxins.. Sonny or Ana are the owners legitimate Chinese massage not some nasty stuff.. they soak your feet.. wear masks and gloves.. temp checks.. Nothing fancy here. But what can you expect for an inexpensive price? I was in the area a couple of times and tried it twice. The service is friendly. They speak English well. Pressure was nice too. I just did not appreciate hearing my masseuse cough and sniffles throughout my whole session. It seems they have been open for years, so maybe they do have a loyal following. Give it try. . .
