Had a great time and learned a lot of information! I made an appointment and had my feet/gait analyzed to get better recommendations for running shoes. My goal is to train and run a full marathon by the end of the year and I wanted some shoes for that. They had me try on multiple recommendations with and without inserts that I got good knowledge on different types. I ended up getting the Asics Novoblast 5's and have been using them super often! I like them better than my Hoka clifton 9 and could tell before just by trying them on in the store. I also was going back to Michigan and was only in the area for about a week longer though they were able to ship them to me. Definitely great valuable experience and recommendations!

We left just in time because the store got super busy on Saturday at noon.

The service here is great. I wish I'd gotten the name of the salesperson who helped us, but he must have brought out 12 different pairs of shoes, really trying to find something that fit so we could walk away with something. We were really particular, wanting to get Oofos slide ins, trying out Hokas, etc. For some reason the shoes we were interested in didn't have the right size or colors. I'm very particular about my feet not being squeezed into a shoe because it can give it takes a while to for the bridge of my foot to recover because it hurts to the bone, so finding something comfortable was hard. My sister loved the shoes she tried, but most of the shoes we wanted weren't in store, but located at the Seattle location which is owned by someone else. I really wish we could've made something work out because our sales guy worked hard to us on Saturday, but it wasn't to be. Even though we walked away disappointed, I gave the place an extra star because the two employees we encountered were super nice and really made us feel like they cared.

I was looking to…read morebuy Hoka shoes because I have a planned trip coming up that will require a lot of walking. I also never thought about investing in a walking shoe before but now that I am older and I feel the aches and pains that is my body, investing on a pair of good waking shoes would probably help me out. Normally, I would have purchased my shoes at the mall but as I drove past Althea's, their front advertised Hoka's. Since I was always curious about this establishment, my husband and I decided to visit. Keep in mind that this shoe store isn't your run of the mill shoe store. They specialize in orthopedic and diabetic shoe wear. Many of their clientele are referred by doctors. First off, customer service was great! They are really knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I think everyone who worked there acknowledged us when we first entered, though we didn't get assisted until about 5 minutes in because they were all with customers. The staff who assisted me was Bill. I didn't feel at all pressured to buy from him although I had a feeling he knew I was set on buying Hokas. He let me try on two models. They didn't have the color I wanted so Bill offered to get it ordered for me with no additional/reservation charge. One week after our visit, I got my Hokas and I've been in shoes heaven since. Parking is plentiful which is always a plus! Their hours are Monday to Fridays, closing at 5pm. I really wish I went in sooner to support this business! I will definitely recommend this place.

I will not be using again and strongly suggest going else where…read more I have had custom orthotics for just over 5 years now, I get a new pair with the military every year. This was my last pair before retirement. I have plantar facilitates, pes planus, and pretty bad neuropathy that is not diabetic related (idiopathic findings.) With that being said Im well aware that Inserts themselves aren't this magic treatment however, this is the first location in five years in WA that I have had issues. Issues to the point that whoever had glued the top back wards. What I mean is left is right, right is left. If that makes sense. When initially trying them on before leaving for the first time; I complained that my arches fill like they are slipping off and a pinching / stabbing sensation was occurring. Along with really rubbing on the outside. This wound up chewing the inside of my shoe up pretty good. Nevertheless, I was told that was all part of the break in and to just where them, they were good And just needed to get use to them. I wore them for the duration of time they requested and yet had zero change. I returned and had to go back the next day for an appointment so, they could be adjusted. I returned the next day when they found the issue of them being put on "backwards" I was unable to leave with the inserts and given a temporary insert as was informed they would need to reglue with a new insert. Once again I then had to return with the second pair as they had the same issue. Returning and dropping off the inserts I already knew my inserts were going to take time to adjust and would need to be mailed. This is due to the fact I'm retiring after a full 20+ career and would be out of the state. Fast forward and the inserts have now been mailed .... however, they are still not correct. The Right side for both R1&2 are not as wide as L1&2 by a large margin. In addition, when readjusting/ inserting the new layer on repair, there is now glue or air trapped under the top cushion. I'm sure it's part of the "break in right? I'm unable to go back in now, for any adjustments due to being out of state and honestly after being back and fourth on four separate occasions would not bother. If going through podiatry with the military and being referred for orthotics, I urge you to go anywhere else. This location will be the closest to the base and generally the first one that pops up and recommended for referral from podiatry . Again, try and find somewhere else. I see a lot of positive reviews, although this was not my experience. Hope this helps someone like me who after years of breaking your body finally tries to get some assistance. Pictures may be hard to see but maybe not... All I can say is Althea's .... "This is not the way"

Honestly as a 40 something year old who wants to remain forever young, I thought the choices here were going to be more senior citizen status. But who am I kidding, my shoe preference is definitely comfort over everything. However, I'll have to admit they had a pretty decent mix of styles. The gentleman helping us (who I assumed is the owner) was very helpful, informative and knowledgeable. We talked about width sizes and how people think width sizes work vs. how they actually work. He suggested to measure my foot because people don't always wear the correct size shoe. In the end, What I genuinely appreciated was no pressure to buy. I was left at my leisure to look and ask for what I wanted. When I caught a boot that fancied my eyes, he didn't have my size in stock but came out with one size smaller and He brought it out and helped me put it on. What shook my inner soul was the fact that he was able to instantly slide the zipper up my thick ankles and calf. No hesitation, no resistance, nothing! I stood up and was amazed at the comfort. Even in a boot one size smaller than I normally wear. I wanted to buy that size but he was very concerned about the toe room and informed me about how much toe room I should actually have. So he said he could order my size and because they were in stock at the distribution warehouse center that was close, I would have the boots in 3-4 days. And as promised he called me and I had the boots in 3 days. I was also given good information on when to buy future shoes for different seasons. So that information was beyond helpful. It was good to hear when the good stock would be available. I had such a good visit and experience, I wanted to write my review quickly after my visit but decided I would wait until I picked up my shoes. I wanted to see if I would have the same experience and I did. In fact, the same gentleman was helping another customer who was a first timer and he was just as friendly with her as he was with me. And he didn't even get the sale but he treated her very genuinely. Boots in hand and took them home and they fit even better than expected. I can't wait to go back for more shoes. Sandals, tennis shoes, ankle boots, dress flats, - they all are calling my name.

Despite the store having 3 other customers, we were helped promptly. We tried on about 4 types of shoes and decided on 2 of them. One was not in stock in the color we wanted so they ordered it from their Edmonds store and will call us when it comes in. The store is small but they have a lot of shoes in back. The shoes on display all have the prices listed on the soles but the actual shoes from the back and the boxes on sale didn't have prices listed on them so they had to tell us the prices. The shoes are very comfortable and high quality but you'll be spending a premium price for them. The ones we got were around $170 and $140 ( that one was on sale). The staff was so nice and helpful
