Literally had the most bizarre food service encounter of my life. I ordered oatmeal through an app to be delivered to my office for lunch. Instead of oatmeal, I received a cup of hot chocolate. Thinking this was a mistake i called them and asked for my correct order to be sent. I was told by 2 different people they don't serve oatmeal-to which i responded it was available on their menu and I paid for it. The second guy i spoke to told me he saw my order and wanted to "give me something" as he couldn't fulfill my request. I have no idea in what corner of the world, a cup of hot chocolate would substitute a bowl of oatmeal. No one was apologetic or offered to correct my order to something reasonable. It wasn't the mix up that bothered me as much as the attitude. I would give this place zero stars if i could. read more

2.5 NOT Returning because of the Maskless that hang out here/ near here as it makes it feel extremely unsafe. The 6 feet markers are ignored by customers. The staff have masks only when it is convenient for them. (The man repacking the drinks lowered his mask to do it). The food is good but other places have better standards and their sanitizer station is not enough for me to forgive them... The staff could not hear well so they moved away from the covid safety curtains...to talk head on. The menu was too small to read. Everything tasted ok-good. The bagel with lox was great & the best part. The Turkey croissant was ok to me but I shared it with my family and they thought it was terrible. I had to doctor it at home so it was not dry. They do not have extra icing for the cinnabun. Parking is metered and hit or miss. There are die hard fans/regulars of this place that live in walking distance that have given it good reviews. I'd gladly walk a bit more to go to better places that are safer with Covid and easier to park then this. If you are from out of town try places in Bronxville instead for bagels/deli that I reviewed as they taste better and are safer with Covid. The Fleetwood section of Mt. Vernon has better Lunch/Dinner options then this place just 1 block over and even a diner across the street that is great too. read more

I always come to this place I grew up in the area and moved away but still make my way bavk. By far one of the best hazelnut coffees... hot or iced. It's worth the drive. Owner is also very nice and always around. He knows his customers and that adds a nice touch. read more

When I walked in to this deli, it was honestly like home I was Greeted with a warm Welcome and Good Morning. While I ordered my breakfast sandwhich the guy at the register asked if I wanted coffee and he took the initiative to proceed and make it with a sense of urgency I have yet to see before at any deli. Update : I used to love this deli - it's fresh - the staff is nice - great for regulars. They have really good Turkey chili and delicious lentil soup, chicken soup, all of it. But I'm finding inconsistencies. I ordered a sandwich today, with lettuce tomato extra pickles and avocado. None of that was on my sandwich and I was charged for it. I'm very picky and that annoyed me. I won't be back. read more

I guess I went on a good day. Atmosphere was nice jazz music playing in the background. Workers very attentive to the line of customers. My tuna was super fresh and not too tuna-y if you're into tuna but not the crazy aftertaste sometimes. Today was my first visit at the Fleetwood Deli Cafe. My friend highly recommended the burger and fries....omg the burger was made with fresh ground beef from the butcher and the fries were nice and crispy and not too oily. I had a very tasty American meal. As I write this review my stomach is still saited, lol. The cafe has a nice and comfortable vibe. The owner Howard was friendly and personable. This has become my go to place for breakfast. Lunch Paninis are really great as well. They have lunch hot specials each day. Service is fast! I absolutely love the coffee, better than DD or SB. Always fresh. If you get a coffee card after nine coffees, you get the 10th one free. Great deal. Staff has always been nice to me. read more

I recently went here with my mom for the first time, and my main concern was about quality. First, she ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich, but after inspecting them, we were told they weren't being sold... I'm guessing the sandwiches were several days old, they saw mold, and decided to trash them. My mom ordered tuna on rye bread instead (though they gave her white bread), and I ordered egg salad on whole wheat. The best deli in the Fleetwood area. The BEST bagels on Gramatan Ave. The best staff and service around. The best everything. Have been going every morning and some lunches every day for the past year. Coffee is phenomenal. The entire pastry section is to die for and is prepared by a former chef for a US President. Someone else in comments noted a problem with an order he phoned in. I can tell you from experience that phone orders are the problem with this place. They usually have 3 people working behind counter: 1 takes orders from customers on the line, the other two work exclusively on phone orders. And they ignore the customers in front of them. Most of the staff have an attitude problem and that just permeates the place. Maybe they aren't paid well. Who knows? But people have figured out it's better to phone in an order than wait 25 minutes for an egg sandwich. And hence the line in store just keeps getting worse. read more

At that point they offered to make it again while I wait. If they knew it had been taken before I arrived, why not remake it right away. So a drug representative treated our Doctors office to lunch today and chose this place. I didn't even get to eat the food because one of my coworkers found a maggot in the pasta. We were so disgusted and appalled.
