I previously gave them 5 stars when they were in the old location that we used twice for painting/dent/scratch repair. This past experience left a lot to be desired. I had a few scratches and had a few panels repainted. It wasn't cheap, but the work was sub-par. The first time they gave me the car the window seal was painted over and a few scratches were just clear coated so you still saw all of the scratches that were previously there. Then an area that we literally marked with a paint pen to fix was left untouched. So they did it again. Okay, so those spots were now better, but then other spots were worse. One panel that didn't need to be redone now has a small fisheye on it. There is a slight wave in the paint elsewhere...the transition between the respray in the door jamb was horrible. Then today the interior trim piece fell down because they didn't put that back properly either and bend all of the pins that hold it. Oh yeah, and I also had to buff everything to remove the halos they left on the new paint and wet sand the transition into the door jambs. I'm not the professional but know that it's not supposed to leave a ridge between the new and old paint. One shouldn't need to go over the work of a professional painter a second and third time to get it looking like it was just painted for thousands of dollars that I paid for. This wasn't the $99 Earl Scheib special. Their lot is full of Porsches and Mercedes. The pride in your craft should be better. Sorry, but even though i had in the past, I won't recommend them again. read more

Very poorly finished and when you call them they blame the insurance for ordering aftermarket parts, they spent a whole month on the car and after all that that's what I got. Update: I went to service the vehicle and found out that they lost the lug nut key which is gonna cost 115$ at the dealership! They also told my insurance that they did the alignment which they never did, when they were asked for specs they said oooh we changed our alignment machine in July and all the records were gone! read more

Someone keyed my car and I headed to Fleming's - was impressed by all the five-star reviews. The owner of the place told me that I would need both doors repainted, though the scratched part was on one door only, that my car color "was incredibly difficult to match, one of the most challenging on the market," that they would provide me with a quote and that my car would be at the shop for "2-3 days" because they were so busy. I guess I look like easy prey, distressed, a woman by herself, likely a total idiot in the eyes of a body shop owner. Fortunately, I went to another body shop, right down the street, where I was told that I could easily paint the scratch over with the right paint, and that they would help me were I to produce the right paint from the dealer. Additionally, they told me that it was best not to remove the whole door (let alone 2!) to repaint just one scratch, because it would make it look like I was in an accident and was trying to cover something much more serious up than a scratch. I got the paint from the dealer later that day, and the kind people at another shop helped me for free. All I ended up paying was $13.95 for the paint to fix this issue. The quote from Flemings that I received was over $1300! I am surprised at all the five-star reviews here and wonder if most of them aren't fakes. read more

Look no further! Fleming's 1st Choice Autobody should be your first and only stop. Honesty, quality and value! My frozen white (matte white) BMW Alpina had a crack on the right front fender, a 1/4" dent/crack on the passenger door and some other small deformities on the passenger door. I work at Dulles airport, so my first stop was D&V Autobody Masters in Sterling VA. They informed me the door was aluminum, could not be repaired and had to be replaced. My vehicle also has PPF applied to the front end, up to the doors. D&V said the hood and rear door would also have to be repainted and replacement of the PPF on the fender and hood would not be included. Additionally, they could not guaranty function of the front sensors, calibration also not included. Total: $7793.39. We live in Falls Church VA, and had bodywork done on our Porsche Cayenne at Fleming's 1st Choice a couple years ago. No appointment for estimate required, like at D&V. I had the quote for my BMW emailed to me 2-days later; $3500 including application of the PPF and any calibration of the sensors if necessary. Less than half D&V's quote! Flemings lot is packed with every brand of high-end vehicle you can think of, so have faith, they're technicians are craftsmen. Fleming's shop is in a modest location, so you're not paying for all the flash and glitz of D&V's waiting area and parking lot. Only for D&V's technicians that can't fix a 1/4" crack in aluminum. I've been in aviation for 40 years. Aluminum can be repaired. Unlike what D&V told me. Fleming's Autobody returned my vehicle on-schedule and at the quoted price. Like I said they are a body shop, but they looked at my car and found some shocks and other parts that aren't really body work causing the problem and they said they would fix it. Did so, but then called me back saying the there was still a small clunk coming from another part and they fixed that as well. They showed me the cost of what they got charged for parts straight up, what he charged for labor, then apologized for having to call for authorization of that second set of parts and took some off for that. Brought in my 68 Chevelle for some body work and paint. We discussed what I wanted which was no filler, real metal work, and a high quality paint job that would turn heads. Well, they came through and BIG TIME and killed it. The body work was perfect! They removed some rust, welded in steel in the rear quarter, and primed and painted my baby to perfection. The won "BEST IN SHOW" at 2 Cars and Coffee already and it turns heads everywhere we go. Everyone asks where did I get it painted and I tell the Flemming's! Mr. Tim Fleming and his repair crew are fantastic! His staff are true professionals. Alexa and Jade greeted me with a smile and made me feel I was leaving our Audi in safe hands. My son had open his car door with the wind to his back, and the door slammed into a brick wall. The edge of the door was bent and I knew his luxury car would be expensive to repair at the dealership...they always are. I had several other things that needed to be done, e.g., pinstripe needed to be replaced, other dings needed attention, and the rearview mirror needed to be reattached. Two other mechanics in different shops couldn't fixed the mirror, but his repairman, Nick, made it happen. Tim gave me fair price, and I knew he wouldn't "rip" me off and take advantage of me. These guys are incredibly nice and low key. They used to be in Ballston but have relocated to Alexandria near the DCA airport, acquiring another collision repair center in the process. I dropped my car off and they coordinated everything with insurance. The only challenge we ran into was a sub contractor failing to show up a couple times to complete the work, but once that sub (an auto glass company) finally got it done, the car was back to styling around town--as much as can be done with a minivan... read more

I cannot recommend Fleming Automotive Services enough. My pearly white 2020 Stinger was involved in a hit and run incident and it left ugly scruff marks on my bumper (see photos). Based on the damages, I thought my bumper would have to be repainted. I called Fleming to ask if they provide quotes via photos and video. They said they do, but prefer to see the car in person which makes complete sense. I emailed them with photos and a video of the damage. Let me tell you...they respond to emails faster than some people respond to text messages! I was really happy about that. The quote they provided me was about half of what other body shops gave me. To top it off, I ended up walking away paying even less because they did not have to paint the bumper as we had anticipated. The thing I appreciated MOST was that they consulted me. They were able to remove all the black scruff marks off my car and got it to a point where it looked nearly perfect. They told me that I had the option to take the car home or they can proceed to paint the entire bumper, which would have costed an additional $250. Upon inspecting the bumper, the imperfections were so minimal that I made the decision not to move forward with paint. I was beyond grateful they consulted me. They could have easily painted the bumper and made more money and I wouldn't have known any better, but they didn't do that. To me, this is HUGE. It made me feel that they had my financial interest at heart, which I feel is rare in the automotive industry. I hope that I won't have future needs to come back for body repair, but if I do I'm definitely not going anywhere else. read more

My car received wind damage that partially blew off a cover on its underside, and I feared there might be more damage. I went to Fleming Automotive to check on the extent of the damage and get repairs. I expected to have to leave my car at least overnight, but they quickly identified that the damage was relatively minor and fixed it straight away. The total time I was there was maybe 15 minutes in total. This is far and away the most responsive car repair place I have been to, and I'll surely be coming back if my car is damaged again! read more

I will be recommending Fleming Automotive Service to everyone I know in the area. I bought a new car in August and had a disagreement with a cement column in my parking garage. To say that I was upset was an understatement. I started searching online and getting quotes from different shops and they were all $$$. I called Fleming and from my first interaction on the phone, I just knew they were the right place to bring my car. The person I spoke with was nice, understanding and helpful. I brought my car in for an estimate on a Tuesday morning and was able to receive the estimate in person in less than 5 minutes. I left the car there and had it back on Friday morning (though it was ready Thursday afternoon, I just wasn't able to pick it up then). The works was beautifully done and my car looks brand new again plus the cost was half of what other places were estimating. And the estimate was exactly what I ended up paying -- no hidden surprise costs. I found my way to this little gem a few days after introducing my passenger door to a concrete pillar in the narrow corridors of an underground parking garage. (sound familiar?) When I walked into the shop, I was greeted by the owner himself and his daughter. Within 5 minutes, they provided me a quote that was significantly lower than the other, local quotes I had received. Ironically, the shop right across the street was quoting me exactly twice the price that Fleming quoted me! I guess some of these body shops really only want to entertain the higher-cost jobs. I guess that's North Arlington for you. I digress. From there, the shop took exactly 3 days and my car was as good as new. The interaction with Mr. Fleming was fast/ professional and efficient. It was clear that he cares about his business and his customers. I can confidently say that Mr. Fleming does incredible body work as, while in the shop, I saw some of their other work on two Porsches and an AMG-GT. Also, Mr. Fleming is partnered with the adjacent Mercedes dealership and does what looks like the majority of their body work as well. I found this on Yelp after extensive research and reading through many reviews. I just picked up my car & can vouch for the rating. 1. From the very first phone call that I made to Flemings, my call was ALWAYS answered & I was never left in the dark (or confused) about the status of my car. 2. The entire staff always went above and beyond; one example of many is despite their parking lot overflowing with vehicles to be fixed (& staff running around like chickens without heads), they offered to drive me just a couple of blocks to retrieve my rental. 3. Left me hanging with incomplete work on my Tesla. While I have used Fleming a few times before, this time, after repairing some minor damage on the front fender, they needed to replace a sensor in the fender, requiring a part from Tesla. After not hearing back from Fleming about ten days later I emailed about the situation. They said they were having trouble getting in touch with Tesla. Note that without the sensor the car spatial system doesn't work, disabling parking and some Autopilot features and also not allowing the car to see other cars. In addition, a constant warning is displayed on the dashboard. With no response from Fleming two weeks further, I reached reached out to Tesla myself and got them to replace the sensor by simply scheduling a repair with them. I emailed Fleming again, asking if we could come to terms on the labor for the Tesla work (not the cost of the sensor itself), but they again never responded. I was also offering to bring in for repair another of my cars. I can understand possible issues for them working with Tesla, a large company, but I can't accept Fleming never responding to me. Communication is key in working with customers and to simply ghost a customer, after promising to fix a problem, is unacceptable and frankly, sad. It doesn't jive with their sign in their window front that says "Reputation is Everything." read more
