This bike shop is great! I have been to 3 different bike shops in Houston. The guys here are pretty chill but they took care of me right. I had these ongoing problems with a flat that kept coming back and the guys were really nice and told me what they thought and weren't pissy at all when I blew in close to closing. They didn't charge me for any labor the 2 visits I had (not to point fingers but Bicycle World in Rice Village, I'm looking at you). The people here are total bike enthusiasts not just sales people. They know their stuff and are skilled at bike repairs and maintenance. The shop is small however they can order and build many quality bikes for customers. Although they are 45 minutes from home, I would definitely return to purchase another bike from them. Awesome bike shop! Came here on a Sunday afternoon after I realized my back tube need to be replaced ASAP. Most of the bike shops were closed on Sunday so after checking they were open I made the 2.5 mile ride from my house on a bum back tire. Upon entering Emmett greeted me and immediately took care of me. He quickly replaced the tube on my back tire and also oiled up my chain for me. We chatted for a few minuets and then I was on my way to enjoy the rest of my Sunday afternoon. It only cost me $11 and he was quick, also gave me some recommendations on new pumps, etc. I will be back soon for a bike tune up! They are only $50 and I'm sure they do a great job. read more

I noticed the back wheel on my road bike was missing a bearing. Although I did not have the bike with me, the guys at Fletcher helped determine the size of the missing bearing. They did not have new bearings in stock, but gave me some used bearings for free. Used bearings seemed okay since my bike is over 20 years old anyway. After arriving home, I went to work on my hubs and was pleased to observe that the replacement bearings worked perfectly! Called in and a man named Kevin answered the phone. I was trying to bring something to his attention and he hung up on me while talking over me. I called back again and again, attempted to tell him about an error on Google about his business information and he immediately assumes something else and begins bad mouthing the bike shop at the corner of Taft and Westheimer. It was very irrelevant to what I had to say and while still trying to tell him Kevin continued to disgrace a fellow bike shop who I find quite pleasant. Kevin was being very irrational and then began to banter such words along the lines of "Why should I listen to you, you shop at the other bike shop." He was quite chill about it and didn't raise his voice, but would not allow me to ask him a simple question and tell him about the Google error. This is not the attitude I was looking for when my phone call could have taken no more than 20 seconds. So Kevin, you brag about your Yelp reviews on how they're so much better than your competitor.... Take this review and paste it on your fridge, because I'm going to Sun and Skis. read more

It'd been a while since I'd taken my bike out and the tires were showing some dry rot. I wanted to get some new ones installed ASAP to go on a ride with my friends. After getting the tires and paying more for them than they said they would be, and paying installation (I asked if I bought the tires if that included installation and they said yes they would install them for me...), and then waiting 30-45 minutes to have everything done while they joked around and couldn't get their register to work, and flat pinched the tire twice... I finally could put the bike in the car and I headed off. I arrived at my destination, late, greeted my friends, and hopped on my bike... which had a flat pinched tire. The next day I came back to get it fixed and the young kid working there was just very rude about it. He just said "give it to me," "wait over there," in a condescending tone. I asked him if he was having a bad day or something. Eventually he calmed down and upon leaving he said "I'm sorry sir," which I suppose is redeeming to some degree, but at that point I'm already of a negative opinion of this place. read more

i bought $400 worth of parts without having my bike there, I ended up not needing two of the parts I bought, I went online checked policy and then I called to verify policy and everything was good, then after riding bike over 3 miles to get there carrying the the two extra parts I didn't need ( a seat and a wheel) I was then told that I couldn't return the parts for refund at all (after calling to verify) I was then told I could get a $193 store credit, which I didn't need because my bike was complete, i Did however look for a while to see if there was anything I wanted because I needed nothing! They were so limited on parts I got stuck with $200 of stuff I didn't need nor could I even exchange for stuff I might want, then I've been there 3 times over last 2 months and still no parts, they got some bikes in, but I don't need a bike, I didn't need anything so now I'm stuck with parts I don't need! The owner wouldn't even make eye contact with me or my son because he new he was in the wrong, so we left and we will not return!! In 2 weeks time of me and my two kids finding this place we have spent more then a thousand dollars there, we got some of thier stickers and put them on our bikes for free advertisements for them and everything, if you buy from this bike shop make sure it's right or you will be STUCK WITH IT!! read more

I have a road and mountain bike and wanted to change out my tubeless tires back to regular and change out my mountain bike clips to a dual clip/platform pedal. Yesterday, I called before going there to ensure that this was something they could accomplish relatively quickly. I walked the two bikes there -- the shop ended up being ridiculously close to me -- and was greeted by two incredible, funny, knowledgeable, brilliant men. I wish I had gotten their names to call them out by name in this review; but, you guys know who you are...(or you can respond to the review and let the world know). They didn't make me feel like a dumb girl or bike neophyte. Instead, they provided guidance and made me feel completely comfortable that whatever my bikes needed, they would ensure it was done. In just a couple hours, I received a call back letting me know the bikes were finished. REALLY??? Yep -- and they did so much, and the cost was ridiculously reasonable and, in my opinion, way way less than they could have charged. I've been to numerous bike shops from Austin to Seattle and back again, and these guys are unrivaled, unparalleled, and some other "un" word that is in accord with the foregoing two. Unbelievable service, communication skills, and coolness factor that is off the charts. I know that no matter what ails my bikes, Fletcher will be the only shop to which I take them. He generously offered advice and tips to help build me build a better bike whether the advice would benefit his bike shop or not; he was genuinely more interested in helping.
