    Scrape on new siding

We needed some work done on our fixer upper that was past due to fix. We hired Fletcher based on a recommendation from a friend that had done work years ago. The consultation was great. He was professional, well groomed, polite, and reassuring. He hit all the points to make the sale. We wanted the professionalism and quality work. Unfortunately after the pitch that's not what was delivered. They pushed us to lock into an agreement and then after ghosted us for quite some time. Like all construction companies, they subcontracted the work. Only the project manager seemed to actually work for Fletcher. He was rarely there on scene. Either the workers lied to him or he lied to us, consistently. We were getting new siding and gutters, so not a cheap quick project. The first issue we had, that we weren't warned about, was the nails and screws EVERYWHERE (pic shows just a small fraction of what was picked up by us.) We have small dogs and small child that go outside. So we consistently picked up their nails out of the yards and driveway to save our pets' feet and our tires. We picked up several hundred and continue to find them after the work is done. I get that it is construction but there was clearly no attempt to contain this or pick them up. Some were obviously bad nails they couldn't use so they tossed them in the grass (misshaped tips). The other issues were the damage that definitely could have been avoided. I failed to remove some fairy lights on the porch because I didn't think they would do anything on the inside (I think they may have been sagging some too). But instead of asking to take them down, which we were home to do, they cut them in several places and then encased them in the facia and caulked around the hanging wire. When asked to fix it, it took several requests to do so and in the end there was still some of the copper wire hanging out of the caulk. They damaged the front door frame and minimized the damage. Eventually they secured the door and caulked the separated seems. We will see how that holds up. On the porch, one of the workers spilled something, a dark sticky liquid (maybe cola or coffee, or glue) and splashed it all over the brand new siding. It was not cleaned up and we noticed it a few days later (area was under construction so we didn't go out there). We asked for the pieces to be replaced since they have extra. It was poorly wiped up. We asked again to replace the pieces, again it was wiped but still there. A final time we were told they would replace it and they brought a chemical to try to clean it! After argument they finally replaced the pieces. There were other places/pieces that were scraped and had to be replaced as well. We had outside security lights that worked before but not after. In all I was disappointed in both the quality of work and the lack of integrity. In the end the house looks great, from what we can see. All the things that were caught make me question what else was done sloppily that we don't know about. The gutters look good and we have so far not had a problem. If you hire this company, I recommend taking time off from work to stay there and watch them. If you don't catch it, they won't fix it on their own. Also prepare for nails everywhere and all of your bushes to be trampled. Because of the subcontracting you'll likely get the same quality work with a cheaper company.

Alright people. Let's talk about Fletcher. I used them to replace a sliding glass door for my basement and used them for my deck as well as replace my princess balcony. So, three projects. First, the door. Crew came in and was clean and efficient. After it was installed I noticed, it had the wrong handle on the door. Supposed to have a lock and it didn't. Took 3 months to get the door in (due to COVID) then took another month or so to get the correct handle in and installed. Corey was nice and professional and came out to replace the handle. And has since come out again, to replace the screen door as one of the rollers broke off the bottom. Second, my deck. This is where the fun really begins. People. Remember this: Evan is a salesman. His sole job is to get you to sign the contract. Is he pushy? No. Informative? Yes. Handsome? Yes. Professional? Yes. Knowledgeable? Eh...on some things. Fletcher is a well known and much used company. Been around for some time. However, understand if it is not done right in the beginning, it will fall apart at some point. Because Evan is a salesman, and NOT a designer, the plans he drew up were NOT going to work. Of course, I did not know that. I got a phone call from Aimee (great project manager), after Kevin's team had torn down my old deck, questioning the plans and advising that the current plans were NOT going to work. Anxiety now sets in. Aimee did her best to calm me down and reassure me, but from there it was a mess. It was stressful as the price began to rise, thousands that I had not counted on. Inspections suddenly had to be arranged, as I was initially advised (from Evan) that I would not need one. Lori (the GM), told me there were "obstacles" that had to be overcome for the deck. My issue was, the "obstacles" (my pool, patio and walkway) were there when Evan initially looked at the area and should've been accounted for. Ultimately, it was stressful, and cost me more money than originally agreed upon. Had it been planned better; I believe it would have been a much better experience. I did not feel as if they avoided my calls. I felt as if they too were trying to make the very best out of a suddenly poor situation. Kevin and his team were so very clean! They came in on time, worked the entire day, then cleaned up as if they were never there. Do I like my deck? I LOVE IT! Would I use Fletcher again? The question is? Would they have me??

We are very happy with the new roof. From the very first visit from Jeremy, he took his time explaining the products and process. He even covered part of the roof which had lost some shingles. He did that even before we had placed the order, which provided us reassurance that he would take great care of our property. The install crew were thorough, clean and very polite. Thank you guys for a job well done.

RESPONSIVENESS - very fast, very responsive, very professional. A tad too frequent, but apparently roof repair is a competitive business. INSPECTION - scheduled and conducted efficiently; exceptionally thorough inspection report (David). COST - in line with all other quotes, which are apparently driven by the insurance estimate. Green Oak differentiation included owner interaction, master roofer certification, 5 star rating, excellent warranty, professional documentation and workflow management. WORK - scheduled efficiently, material arrived on time the day before, crew arrived on time the day of, work was conscientious and completed in 3/4 day (townhome), clean-up (including loose nail hunt) was impressively thorough. AFTER - received certificate of completion in a timely manner, along with photo record of repaired roof. Not being a roofer, it's difficult to assess the integrity of the new roof & shingles, however the end result appears clean and professional. Suspect the new, high-quality roof will increase the townhome value and/or decrease time to sell based on the high-quality products used and overall curb appeal of the work. Overall quite satisfied with Green Oak. Recommend.

I reached out to Green Oak after searching on Yelp (s/o), and was extremely glad I did. Brian H. took me through the process from start to finish, including an insightful explanation of the insurance claim process. The free estimate happened within a few days and ended up being lower than the insurance-assessed quote. He recommended a roof "tune up" as part of the package without pushing or trying to upsell me for more, which i really appreciated. He also accommodated my inquiry of adding on the installation of a bathroom exhaust vent cap, which was missing when we moved in. After being extremely reasonable on pricing and lighting-fast on responses, they scheduled and completed the work the day after signing. The team was efficient and respectful, with a huge attention to detail. TL;DR - Highly recommend giving Brian and Green Oak Exteriors a shot to help fix your home exterior issues, especially when you are in a bind with your insurance company!

The team went out to install 40 windows and they absolutely did an excellent job. They were super friendly and professional. We really liked the windows (Sunrise Restorations) and moved forward with the project. The installation went flawless! What a great experience…read more I called Stafford Glass in extremis after a recent hurricane produced supply chain issues with tempered glass down in NC. We were on the hook to put the finishing touches on a buddy's USMC retirement gift and time was extremely tight. The owner Marvin answered the phone and jumped straight in to help ensure we could celebrate this Marine's 22 years of service with a polished and complete gift. Of course, we flubbed the measurements on the tempered glass I needed so even though it came in quick, it didn't fit the shadow box! When I called Marvin up again it felt like he dropped everything to help. He put a rush on the glass and even drove to the supplier to pick it up in order to ENSURE the retirement went well. The price was great, they gave advice along the way about what would work best and have the most longevity, and the personal touches were all just so refreshing. This experience reminded me why supporting local small businesses isn't "charity", I honestly came out soooo much better than what any big box or national company would have done. Marvin and his crew are members of our community and it was so apparent that he cared about our Marine buddy having a good retirement. I'll be using these guys for any glass needs in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for any glass work

While the salesman seemed…read moreknowledgeable, there are some issues of which I am not satisfied and based on these, I would not recommend Window Nation. First, the energy efficiency of the product is lacking. The salesman, using a sample window and a little device, noted the temperature on one side of the window using the device and then noted the temperature on the other side of the window without the device. A marked difference. However, this winter during a cold spell, my home was quite cold. I had to increase the heating system thermostat temperature to make the home warmer. I put my hand on the inside of several of the windows and surprise, the cold was coming through the window. I had to purchase new thermal drapes to put on windows to try and keep cold out. My utility bills were through the roof this winter so that little gadget was useless. Secondly, when closing an open window, the upper pane slides down with the lower pane and you have to reach up the outside of the windows to push the upper section back into place to be able to lock the window. Lastly, I opted for the 18 month promotion. The service company Window Nation uses is named "Service Finance Company, LLC". THEY ARE A WASTE!!!!!!!! All of their Customer Service Representatives are offshore and when you call, they have no clue how to solve your billing issue. I pay my bills online and since purchasing the windows, I have only had ONE (1) month where I did not have a problem making the payment. All in all, I would suggest that you look elsewhere for windows and not window nation. Oh, and one more item, I received a card in the mail noting a promotion, but 2 get 2 free. Well, it was bogus as the salesman noted that this promotion does not include installation.

I paid for them to replace a flat roof and repair damages caused by the water infiltration including patching where water may enter in the future and patching/replacing sheetrock and painting that was done. I also paid for them to notch, punch, and hang doors. Jenny (owner's wife) submitted a quote after Tim (owner), outlined the work and the materials in August, I paid a deposit and work began in September. The issues immediately started. Tim walks the site for the quote but is rarely if ever found on site to review materials or quality of work. They quoted me for materials that I paid for, and used INFERIOR materials. After I confronted Tim, he lied about the materials, I had to remind him that my boyfriend in fact was an architect and knew that the material in the pictures (I asked for status pictures at EOD) where not what was quoted. He never rectified this issue. My boyfriend and I had to walk the roof and have the workers fix quite a few issues that were scoped out and discussed as a part of the work including a CLEARLY distressed chimney that would have allowed for water penetration upon ANY rain. The roofers had to come back 3 times for the issues to be resolved. Tim? Once. The work inside of the house? Still not done. There are gashes in doors, My ceiling? covered in gray primer for THREE months and counting. Door frames? Split, cracked, and not fixed. I have called. I have attempted to reschedule. I have sent emails. Texted pictures and STILL have not heard back from them. Tim's preferred way of working is to have you the customer GC and quality check the work - because he is not able to or willing to do so. In fact, he attempted to blame me for not correcting the work in real time, as if I am the foreman. You're better off getting a bunch of "handy men" and throwing them in a room to do the work because that is effectively what Tim does. They will promise you the moon, and at the end of it you will have wished you never even asked them for the quote.
