Love the Whole Foods bakery, they have all sorts of sizes for the desserts. Like for the tres leches, they have a family size and individual size. On Fridays, the family size cakes are $10 so a great deal! I also like their fruit tart, which also comes in small (bite size), medium (4 inch), and larger sizes. You honestly can't go wrong with any of those bakery items. I also love their hot bar, ~$12 per pound. There are always a variety of options, usually I see tikka masala, chicken tenders, rice, samosas. I usually add some of the premade salads from the cold bar too. Just have to be careful as it is easy to get carried away and get TOO much food, lol. Some items can taste a bit dry (since they sit on the hot bar all day), but for the most part, it's a solid quick meal. Note they may put away the hot bar a bit earlier than close so you might not catch it if you come too late.

I ordered ahead of time for a pick up date and time, and came to the customer service desk to pick up the cake. The guy was so nice, he went to the back to get the cake, and because it was so heavy, he also got me a cart to make it easier to bring to my car. Overall, this was the easiest cake ordering experience ever.

If we want a change, we may go with the Mango Yuzu cake. We went specifically for the Strawberry shortcake on this visit, but they were already all out of the Strawberry shortcake and it was around noon. We ended up getting the Berry Chantilly Cake. We are regular customers at the Whole Foods pizza counter and order pizza for our family there…read moreoften, usually one or two whole pizzas at a time. Unfortunately, it is consistently a very slow experience, even when there are only a few customers ahead of us. Despite having a very large pizza oven capable of cooking multiple pizzas at once, pizzas are routinely cooked one at a time, which often results in 30+ minute wait times. Today's experience was especially disappointing. The store had run out of pizza boxes, so our pizza was placed into a cake box that was too small to fit it properly. The employee cut the pizza and stacked half the slices on top of the other half, causing the pizza to become messy and smashed together. She handled the slices directly with her hands instead of using a spatula, and several pepperoni pieces fell off in the process. In addition, the employee placed two different stickers on the box -- one appearing to indicate a single pizza and another appearing to indicate two pizzas -- which could have easily resulted in us being charged incorrectly. When I politely asked whether we could receive a discount because of the condition of the pizza and the inconvenience, I was initially told very rudely that there would be no discount and that the register would not help either. I was then asked, with obvious attitude, whether I wanted the pizza remade, which would "take another 10 minutes." I simply asked for the missing pepperoni pieces to be placed back on the pizza. The manager ultimately did provide a 50% discount, which we appreciated. However, even the manager acknowledged the pizza had been handled improperly and wanted to take a picture because she was surprised by how it had been packaged. Despite that, the response still felt dismissive, including being told the discount would only be done "this one time," as though the issue had not clearly been caused by the store's handling of the order. We understand mistakes happen, including running out of boxes, but customer service, food handling, and basic professionalism still matter -- especially for repeat customers who spend a significant amount there regularly.

They are usually kept in the refrigerated section of the stores that carry them. But I have to give them a low rating because of contamination. I bought a box of mixed flavors form Costco and while my wife was eating one, she almost threw up and passed out. She bit into a furry wad and thought it was initially a rat pelt. After I had listened to her near hysteria, I decided to further dissect the item and look into what it was. It seemed to be a wad of cotton which somehow accidentally made it into the product. I immediately contacted the company and their receptionist apologized profusely, stating that she would pass the info on to their quality manager, and then get back to me. Well, the receptionist called me back and stated that they would offer me refund or replacement. I opted for the replacement and 4 bars were shipped via Fedex overnight. But what I really found disappointing was that I was told that they had other incidences and the culprit was a cotton towel that somehow managed to get their batch contaminated. I received no apologies from anyone in management - it was the receptionist who communicated everything to me. Of course, in hindsight, it all seems innocuous, but at the time it happened, my wife thought she bit into a piece of fur! The whole way the company seemed so blase about everything really started to disturb me. They did not even issue a recall. I did not receive any call from the Quality Manager, or anyone in management. Which leads me to believe that they don't care at all about their customers or the quality of their product. How much effort does it take for someone in management to call me to apologize? Apparently too much effort for them.
