The food is amazingly tasty and creative in terms of all the different types of options (Sweet Potato Salad is shockingly good). The options are very healthy and the packaging it is delivered in is environmentally friendly containers which is a great added bonus that we really noticed and appreciated. We are very happy with the pricing as well because the portions are a wonderful size and the quality is the best you can find anywhere and the office has tried tons of different places. Just one word. WOW. I live in the same neighborhood as the owner of Food of Joy and received a flier supporting her community offering food plans and meals. Having never tried anything like it before (connoisseur of delivery food, not so much family meals planned to be healthy), I decided to give it a shot. Now, I have a daughter who's almost two and is very picky with what she'll eat. I reached out to the owner asking if they had a kids menu for their plans, to which they replied they would talk to their chef about it. WITHIN TWO HOURS I got a response that they had catered to what my daughter would eat and designed an entire menu around it! Like, who does that? Given everything that's going on, I get restaurants and food services going above and beyond to hold their customer base, but this was a whole new level. Food was amazing. Fantastic. As someone who's not the best at not giving into fatty cravings, this was the best healthy food I've ever had. It honestly is a game changer in my long-term goal to be healthier. I've had their Thai Time lunch entree and the a la carte flatbread sandwich with an added veggie burger. BOTH DELICIOUS!!! The first time I tried Food of Joy, I ordered tofu on the Thai Time which has soba noodles and a bunch of yummy veggies on top. It comes with peanut sauce and a sesame vinaigrette to pour over. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Although the meal itself sounds light, the portion was huge! I was actually happy I couldn't finish it because I had the best left overs later on that night. As for the flatbread sandwich, I added a veggie burger on top of the vegan spread, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, and a whole gang of other veggies they got back in the kitchen. Again, portions here are HUGE! They bake the flatbread on site everyday. It's thin and chewy-everything you could want in a healthy whole grain flatbread! Every dish was aromatic, fresh, and flavorful. The portions were generous enough that we both had leftovers for lunch the following day. That night, we ordered the Spicy Mint Pesto penne with chicken and it was one of my favorite pasta dishes I've ever had. It had just the right amount of spice and mint to leave my mouth watering after every bite. The chicken and pasta were both cooked to perfection with no chewiness or dryness whatsoever. We scarfed down the penne within a couple minutes and sadly there were no leftovers. The best part? After we ate both meals, we felt satisfyingly full, but neither of us felt the usual sluggishness that follows takeout food.
