    Alfredo spinach pizza
    Kathy W.

Met some friends here for pizza. Clearly, this is a restaurant designed for take-out because we were four people and got the only table big enough to seat four in this tiny storefront. We ordered two pizzas. My choice was the meat lovers and it was tasty, with fluffy crust, lots of meat, and a good amount of cheese. Our friends ordered an Alfredo pizza and added spinach and garlic -- and the 14" pizza was almost $40. Pretty steep for a pizza, although it was tasty. We also got some garlic bread and that was the highlight of the meal -- plenty of garlic on crispy, buttery toast. Yum! I don't know if I'll be back soon, but if I am, I'm getting the garlic bread!

Such a great place for a slice or Italian specialties. The pizza is a really really good foldable NY slice. The staff is great, very attentive and kind.

This deep-dish pizza (with sausage) came out great! Delicious crust and red sauce. It comes un-cut so make sure you have a sharp knife or pizza cutter. Also, the Italian Chopped Salad is possibly my favorite in the galaxy!

Picked up some dinner a few nights back and absolutely loved it. The staff was absolutely friendly and eager to help with any questions that we had and the place was super clean. Got the margarita, pizza and the meat lovers pizza, both traditional New York stout thin crust. Crisp and flaky, but soft enough to bend and pick up. Was zesty and fresh. All the ingredients were top-notch. Also got the mozzarella sticks and garlic bread. Huge fans of garlic bread and they did this one. Extra buttery with chunks of garlic. Definitely picking this up again next time we're in the area.

Too Good to Go deal, $6

Flintridge Pizza Kitchen in La Cañada offers solid New York-style pizza. I grabbed a great deal from Too Good to Go--3 slices for $6. One slice was Hawaiian with pineapples, which wasn't to my taste, but the rest was good. The staff was friendly and fast, though the small dining area is more designed for takeout than dine-in. They also have daily specials Monday through Thursday, adding even more value. Overall, it's what you'd expect from a pizza place--great value and tasty pizza!

4 stars Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. I picked up a house salad, slice of cheese pizza, and a slice of pepperoni pizza. It was good and I will be back to try other pizzas and dishes. Their happy hour and lunch specials look amazing. Service was quick and friendly. Small on-site parking, but be careful, it is easy to miss the driveway in. This is a casual eatery with only a few tables, so it's not the best for large crowds.

We were seated right away! There is plenty of parking and they offer indoor and outdoor seating. We were told about the specials of the day which was nice because we ended up getting one of them! We tried the melon prosciutto with mozzarella which is something I don't think I would've tried on a normal day but I wanted to try something new especially since I did see photos prior! & ugh, it was SO good! For my main dish I got the Fettuccini alla bolognese which was also SO good. The meat sauce was amazing. My bf tried the salmon with veggies which he enjoyed! I could have taken a quart of it home! The ravioli itself was perfectly cooked, generously stuffed with filling, and the taste of the butternut squash really came thru cleanly. The portion & the quality felt well worth the price, which is rare these days. An utter joy. Every bite was heaven. This will be a dish that I think about often. Mushroom risotto was delicious! Super soft mushrooms, great flavor, nicely cooked. I normally don't enjoy much rooms because they can get...squeaky. These were a generous amount, silky and smooth, and imparted a lot of great mushroom flavor to the rice. Another dish I'd order again anytime! We've also had both the lasagna and the gnocchi (w panna) and enjoyed them. The gnocchi in particular were so well made, just the perfect texture, pillow soft and a generous portion. You get a choice of sauces so I'd come back and try these with another sauce in the future just to see how that is. The panna was a lovely cream sauce with a light shallot flavor. I enjoyed it more and more as I ate and the sauce thickened. It was delivered pipping hot, so you have time to let the sauce set before digging in. Arugula & raddichio salad was SO fresh, delicious light dressing, excellent cheese. They kindly split this on two plates for us to share. Ever subsequent time we have ordered a salad they automatically do us this kindness. Very thoughtful. We have also tried the spinach and pear salad special of the day, which was delightfully tender spinach, tasty pears and an aged cheese in a wonderfully fresh dressing. I love their salad specials! We also had the special of the day appetizer which was buratta, prosciutto e melone. Delightful! The melon was crunchy & sweet, the prosciutto was great, and the buratta was so creamy. Service was excellent. Everyone who works here is very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They always have amazing specials, so be sure to ask about those. We have ended up ordering some of those every time we have been here. One of my favorite Italian places in all of LA. The quality is consistent, the menu is varied, the specials are actually special, and the covered outdoor patio area is great in all seasons. We will be back many times, I am sure.

I recently went in and ordered a Philly cheesesteak over the counter. I waited patiently, tipped well, and about 20 minutes later an employee looked me directly in the eye, handed me a sandwich, and told me my order was ready. I got home, opened the sandwich, and found a turkey sandwich. Completely different order. I immediately called the store and explained what happened. Instead of an apology, I was told I needed to bring the sandwich back and that the entire sandwich needed to be there. Of course the entire sandwich was there. I hadn't touched it. I was also told they would start making my correct sandwich while I drove back. When I returned, the person I spoke with, who appeared to be a supervisor, manager, or owner, told me, "You must have taken the wrong sandwich." No. Your employee handed me the wrong sandwich and told me it was mine. When I explained that, the response was essentially, "Well, I was on break, so I don't know." That attitude bothered me far more than the original mistake. Mistakes happen. Handing someone the wrong sandwich is an easy mistake to forgive. What isn't so easy to overlook is treating the customer as though the mistake was somehow their fault, requiring them to drive all the way back, and showing virtually no apology or concern for wasting their time. Then came the replacement sandwich. The original cheesesteak I watched them prepare went through the pizza oven. The replacement did not. They also used American cheese instead of the cheese I ordered, and the sandwich was noticeably underbuilt, with very little meat, as shown in my photo. After the interaction I had just experienced, it was difficult not to view the replacement as passive-aggressive. What should have been simple was, "We're sorry. We handed you the wrong sandwich. We'll make this right." Instead, I felt accused, inconvenienced, and then handed a lesser sandwich as though they were doing me a favor. I've been coming here since the previous owners, going back to the late 1980s. Unfortunately, this also isn't the first time recently that I've received substandard service or a substandard product. At some point you have to stop judging a place by what it used to be and judge it by what it is today. For me, this experience did exactly that. I'd keep the photo of the underbuilt cheesesteak attached. It supports the part of the review people might otherwise dismiss as subjective.

We had been to this small quaint and beautiful little restaurant in Montrose before and wanted to try it again. We loved their little Spanish style courtyard, the tapas, paellas, and the setting felt so good for little date night after being away for so long. Unfortunately things did not go as planned. We made reservations for 7:15pm and were hardly even greeted by the hostess that seemed she'd rather be elsewhere then to welcome us to Casa Cordoba. Problem was though even after setting the reservation time and arriving exactly at 7:15pm we weren't seated for 15min even though we saw our table being cleaned and set and just sit there unoccupied for over 15min. So we waited. When we finally sat down...our server didn't come by for another 10-15min. But we were patient and we waited. Alvin finally came -- brought us water and opened the wine we brought. A special one for this type of occasion (corkage fee was $30). We ordered the paella with squid ink and seafood since it takes up to 45min to prepare and sat down to enjoy the wine and take in the setting. That night they had live music -- a guy on an acoustic guitar playing some cool songs, from Maroon 5 to Backstreet Boys on a 12 string...at least it was live. It was pleasant. The server didn't attend to us much and just had an air about him. Idk -- they may have been super busy but wasn't sure. Finally the paella came. It was...good. Not plentifully. 7-8mussels, a quarter of an octopus tentacles, and a couple of calamari. If you're thinking that much it and rice then you're right. It was mainly rice. No vegetables accompanying it but that's the dish. That was $57 for the small version. I've made paella before. It takes time and it's a production -- but at least at home I can make one for half that price for 8 people. Maybe that's why we don't go out so often bc it ends sometimes like this. We expect a nice meal, a welcoming host or hostess, a server who enjoys the food and atmosphere and makes us feel at home, and food that we could never prepare at home. It's suppose to be an experience that you are happy to pay for. This wasn't. We were disappointed and just felt like wanting to leave. The last straw was when I signed the check on a toast machine and asked for the printed copy. The server, Alvin just left the toast machine with us and left -- attending to others and leaving us with this machine. All I wanted at the end was a thank you for dining with us and the printed copy. We had to flag another server for that copy. He eventually came, with disdain written all over and just handed me the copy, as if I had taken his time to get my the receipt which I asked. That pretty much did it. I asked to speak with the manager and was told--"oh sure. I can get him--he's the chef, give me a minute." I was floored!! No wonder!!! The chef. The back of house manager is also the front of house manager!! That says a lot. You're front of house and your guests are not being taken care of? What kind of restaurant is this? With these prices? Regardless that was it. We left -- had some great ice cream and spoke about the whole experience all the way back home. Great date night eh? Not returning.

I've been to Marina several times now and it never disappoints. For mains we got the House Italian Sausage pizza, the Calabrian Salami pizza, and the Rabbit Bolognese. Both pizzas were great but the Calabrian Salami was definitely our favorite! The honey and spice combo was so good and the crust was perfectly crispy. The Rabbit Bolognese was also incredible, and tasted fresh and light instead of heavy like some bolognese can be. Our waiter gave us the pistachio tiramisu on the house for my mom's birthday, which was such a sweet gesture, and it was delicious! He took great care of us all night and even helped get multiple angles of our group photo haha. Thank you Marina for such a great experience, we will definitely be back :)

My boyfriend and I were so excited to dine at Marina in Pasadena. There are some paid lots, free…read morepublic parking, and street parking if you are willing to walk. Just be careful because there are some tricky signs that say $1.50 in large font and for each 15 minutes in tiny font. Even with a reservation from Resy, we found that it was still a bit of a wait. Without the reservation, you might be limited to patio parking only. Even their bar area was busy and reserved during our time there. I didn't mind the waiting, but it was stressful waiting in a tight space with their staff coming in and out with huge piles of dishes and you have to be careful if you don't want to be bumped into. This feeling of crowdedness continues to the tables with the spacing between one table to another very tight together. More to this in a bit. The hostess was so sweet, she actually sent us a complimentary Blistered Bread and Ricotta ($14) dish that we both really enjoyed to make up for the wait. The blistered bread was masterfully executed, very thin and went perfectly with the ricotta dip. Once again, I didn't mind the wait at all. That was not the problem with my meal. Anyways... going on... the waiter... the waiter we had was really grumpy. Not sure if it's just his personality or he was having a bad day. For instance, I was ready to get the white wine flight but then he was, very poorly, explaining it to the point where I was talked out of it. Then I was about to get a glass of wine or bubbly... Then once again he basically talks me out of it. Nevermind I'll drink water... I guess you don't need to earn a better tip. In addition to the trouble he gave me while order. When he came to ask me about my experience. I honestly responded that it could be better, due to the table next to us. He basically gaslit me like well it's a big party, what do you expect? Wow this inconsiderate family of kids bumping into my table, making fart sounds on purpose, cursing adults, and loud loud kids and adults... You expect me to feel like this is normal behavior and enjoy it. I straight up told him, well YOU ASKED ME, I'm just answered your question. He begrudgingly moved us but basically ignored us for the rest of the night Anyways, as for the food... I thought the food would be pretty fantastic since the restaurant was so busy. It had all of the signs of a successful restaurant. My boyfriend and I shared the following: Squash Blossoms ($16) - I love squash blossoms. My boyfriend knew I wouldn't be able to resist ordering it. Their preparation of this delicate ingredient was heavy for my liking. The batter on it was thick and oily. The toasted hazelnuts were unnecessary. House Italian Sausage ($26) - They have one of those pizza ovens. The crust was thin and crispy. It was well prepared. However the issue we had with this was the flavor, or rather lacking flavor. The taste of the Italian sausage was overwhelmed by the red onion agrodolce. We both ate a slice and took the rest home. Even as leftovers we weren't excited to eat it. Charred Scallop Risotto ($38) - What really sold me was the baja uni batter that I did not taste much of in this dish. This was a poor execution of a risotto. The texture was off, and the flavor was overwhelmed by whatever cheese they used in this dish. The charred scallop was one single scallop cut in half and overly charred and rubbery in taste. The blue shrimp were shriveled too. We made sure to eat the proteins to prevent waste but you know it's bad when my boyfriend didn't even want to togo this dish. He normally eats anything to prevent waste. Branzino alla Griglia ($38) - Whole grilled branzino topped with eggplant, salsa verde and herb salad. This was the least bad item that we paid for... Although there was a lot of bones to be cautious of. I understand the risk of stumbling on a few bones when ordering a whole fish but this was more than I would have liked. I also didn't like some of the flavors coating the fish. Although from a grilled perspective it was crispy and perfectly cooked. This is a popular business with plenty of patrons to keep them busy. Whatever they like... it isn't what I look for in a business I frequent. I know they don't need my business and I will gladly stay away and save myself all of the trouble. This was way too stressful and there weren't any dishes I need to have again. My experience was so awful I'm being very generous with this 3 star, which is "average".
