The pizza was good, not great. Pretty pricey. Crust is really thin. I substituted onions for black olives on their supreme pizza and they upcharged $1.50 for that. I also asked if they can do 2 flavors for their 2 pounds of wings and they said yes on the phone, however, they ended up charging me for (2) separate orders of 1 lb of wings which ended up costing me about an extra $10. Would have just got 1 flavor if I knew that was going to be the case. Felt like I got ripped off spending $100 for 2 medium pizza and wings.

A good pizza spot that satisfies both you tastebuds and foodie needs! The food itself is tasty and if you need just a slice or two, you're good to go! (Grab a milk tea next door and you got a legit foodie combo!). The service is always helpful and friendly. I always ask too many questions and they're always good at answering them. The ambiance is friendly. It's not a big spot but there are many seats outside with all the shared restaurants.

Absolutely delicious pizza and chicken wings! The chicken was so flavorful and not too spicy.

First off, the staff were super nice and down-to-earth The prices were great too. I've been to spots in LA and paid $8-10 for mediocre mid pizza I love the area that it's in as well-it's nice to just unwind and sit back and enjoy some pizza. Their pepperoni and Rocky's mix pizza slices were delicious but the thing that took the cake was the BBQ Chicken Deep Dish slices. The sauce and bread were superb and the toppings were a perfect amount. I usually hate deep dish but this one was a thinner style which I liked. 5/5

Best pizza place! Their pizzas are truly made differently. The flavors are fantastic and quality is great! I love Rocky's pizza mix and the bbq chicken pizza!

Rocky's Gourmet (!) Pizza (RGP) is right next door to the Starbucks spin off, Bux fast Pick up. Both are in the Crossroads center across the street from Glendale City College: and as such they get a lot of college students (per Alex who kindly allowed me to snap his photo so i could file it with this review) in for a quick pizza fix. Since it is early in the day (10ish am on a Saturday_ i was able to get the lowdown from the owners son, Alex who personally helped me with my selection: a small Veggie pizza and a (yum) fountain diet Diet coke. As you all know if you have read any reviews of mine of Pizza joints: the crust is the THING. The crust here at RGP is very good not great. And not great because it badly needs salt. That's the negative. The positives: and there are quite a few. The crust is well baked via a Conveyer Oven at about 500 degrees which produces a finely crusty piece of dough with a slight yeasty taste...which is a good thing. RGC just piles on the toppings and did so with my Veggie Pizza: onions, various veggies, tomatoes as well as a good amount of cheese and a oreganoy sauce. The owners here are from Iran and made Pizza there so there is a slight slant towards Iran in their Pizzas. I can go with that especially when it produces such a good product. (though as i noted...salt in the crust is an issue). RGP also has a full menu of Sammies with bread from Porto's: a local bakery known for its primo baked goods. The toppings are impressive as they are plentiful and fresh. The physical plant is super clean as is the bathroom. The floor is so clean you could easily eat off if it. There is a small counter on which to eat plus a slew of tables outside which RGP shares with the other joints in this center. Service-wise: Alex is a nice, personable guy whose knowledge about what this unit produces... is first rate. Oh, by the way: they sell Pizza by the slice which you don't see very often and which is probably a plus when the college students come in looking for a quick meal. Soft drinks only but makes sense with the college right across the street. I will be back. Cheers!

I will be coming here until the day I die. When I have kids, this will be our family pizza night every week. I've tried almost every pizza here and they're all great. I haven't tried any sides so I can't speak to those, but from the pizzas, I don't think you can miss. Dough, ingredients, sauce, cheese - all top notch.

(Tookout 12/17/20 TH @ 5:00pm): Nothing rocky about this pizza place, but calling it gourmet might be a stretch! Living during these COVID-19 times, my roommate and I have eaten a lot of takeout pizza as we have systematically been trying all of the neighborhood pizza joints and wherever we might be which was the latter case this time with Rocky's Gourmet Pizza. Actually, I saw a coupon menu flyer at my mom's house and almost instantaneously decided to check them out before I went home. Was this fortuitous moment a good one!? PURCHASE 1/2lb 5pc Buffalo Chicken Wings ($5.99): At more than $1.00/piece and truly an impulse buy, these were fine but surely nothing special or memorable https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Q9leOw9FRZ9sJfLIxncKZQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Italian Combo Submarine Sandwich ($7.99): Made with slices of ham, mortadella, and salami between a lightly toasted flaky roll, this was deliciously simple but wished there was more cheese, vegetables, and meat https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TPujRSuDAe-c--eqzyyPxg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Large Greek Salad w/Balsamic Vinegar Dressing ($8.49 + $0.25): Made with romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, green pepper, black olives, fresh parsley, oregano, and feta cheese, I generally enjoyed this but preferred sizable pieces of feta cheese instead of flecks which eventually dissolved into the salad. Also, the lettuce didn't need to be so finely-chopped https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2DqyoamRHn9BWsO_WQywIA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Large Rocky's Special "Makhsoos" Specialty Pizza ($20.99): A collaboration of pizza sauce, bacon, mozzarella, mushroom, turkey, ham, salami, red onion, and green pepper, the amount and size of all the ingredients covered the pie nicely for even distribution in every bite - a solid pizza https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=RN8kzZKebwUu7ZS1DDmG0A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Large Vegetarian Specialty Pizza ($20.99): Made with pizza sauce, spinach, mozzarella, mushroom, red onion, green pepper, black olives, diced tomato, and broccoli, same comments as with the previous pizza, I liked this one more for its perceived healthiness - yummy https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=zp-rfDXdSUl3PXLjRFZaYQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! SERVICE During these COVID-19 times, they recommended online orders/payment for takeout although they also accepted phone orders (which I did) and walk-ups available. The gentleman who took my order was friendly and efficient. I arrived about an hour later with only one customer ahead of me. Quickly enough, I was up next with my order ready, small chit-chat with the possible manager/owner, and eagerly I went to get home and feast on these - all was good! PARKING (FREE) They shared a tight parking lot with several other businesses, I luckily found a spot. Otherwise there seemed to be some parking along the parallel drags of Canada Blvd. and Verdugo Rd. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located directly across from Glendale Community College, this seemed primarily a takeout joint although pre-COVID-19 there was a small amount of space for a few tables and chairs which were removed at this time. I appreciated the clean and clear environment with an easily legible menu above up on the wall behind the order counter which was directly in front of you. There were some outdoor tables if you wanted to hang around. Plenty of natural lighting came in through the front glass windows and front doors while standard electric ceiling lights covered the rest. I couldn't recall any TVs or background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2kjk3lanXx5Hb6Apph5CMw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was surprised Rocky's Gourmet Pizza has been around for nearly ten years according to the gentleman I dealt with, and was happy to have seen the coupon menu flyer at my mom's that brought me here. The prices were very competitive (the wings seemed high), the food was good albeit nothing really stood out, and the service was fine for what I needed, and the menu selection was varied enough that I wanted to try several of their other specialty pizzas. And, it was always a pleasure to support a mom & pop small business https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Aw1KQ_4gm2k7ma38gH7XwQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $66.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

We ordered the Philly and Pastrami to split and share. We dined in which was among a few small tables situated between the shelves of well-lit and visually clean bottles of liquor. Service was friendly but nothing memorable. After about 10 minutes, both sandwiches were brought to our table. They were hot and came on toasted rolls. Not really sure what bread specifically but seemed a bit like French rolls. Crunch crusts with soft middles which helped to cradle the fillings and absorb the delicious meat juices. The pastrami was great and not overly salty. It had a great zing from the crunchy pickles and mustard. The Philly was nice and gooey. The beef had great texture and was dripping with flavor (literally). Both were very good but I personally liked the pastrami better. If you like meat though, neither will disappoint. We will be back to try the other sandwiches. The only down side to our visit was buying sodas at the store. Their prices weren't listed and in my head, I expected them to be $3 or so. The Mexican Coke and small bottle of lemonade were each $6. $20 for a sandwich isn't cheap, but it price didn't make me gag--but I almost physically gagged when i saw soda prices ring up. Next time, we'll get our sandwiches to go and get drinks elsewhere.

First of all, the restaurant is located inside a poke shop, so you can easily miss it. I know I did for about 15 minutes, walking here and there and going up to the second floor since I couldn't find it. They have a logo in the window, but all the signage is for the poke shop, which shares the small place with the sandwich shop. One guy mans each restaurant from behind a counter, like a Subway sandwich shop. Well I got two sandwiches - the Americano and the Va Bene with spicy salami. Both came with a large mess of fresh mozzarella, which I know plenty of people probably love. First time I've had a huge half ball of moz on a sandwich, and I did not like it at all. It actually ruined both sandwiches as far as flavor. The better of the two was the Va Bene, though even this sandwich left little impression. It's just salami and mozzarella on a small unimpressive tiny section of bread. The size of both sandwiches is actually disappointingly small. The lesser sandwich was the Americano. It wanted to be a standard Italian deli meat grinder, but the sandwich was too small, the meats were nothing special, and the moz once again ruined everything. They offer a cheap, basic cold cut sandwich for $5.95, and if you must try this place I suggest trying this before you spend more money. Bottom line is this was a total disappointment, I didn't like my sandwiches at all, and I will not be back. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this place. The food is just sad.
