Much better food than you'd expect from it's casual appearance! We were looking for something new and remembered that Viking Pizza had taken this location (I'd been once when they were on San Fernando rd a few years ago and enjoyed the pizza). We ordered a Greek salad which was excellent. It has a good amount of seasoning and a light dressing which gave it a really nice flavor. Next we had a grilled chicken plate. The chicken was tender and juicy with a nice, subtle flavor. The fries were light and crisp and it came with a nice little side salad. The patio area was really quaint on a nice evening. The dining area is small, but nice and well cared for. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We will be back soon! read more

I have been to there old location also in Glendale but this is the first time in their new one. Great Swedish crust pizzas with awesome bearnaise sauce. Really friendly personnel and clean restaurant. We ordered 6 pizzas and will be snacking on those until and during Super Bowl. I wish they were closer but it will be a special treat every time we go there as it takes around 1h from our location. It is absolutely worth it!!! Highly recommend!! read more

I'm not sure what to make of Viking Pizza. It is in a new location in Glendale opened only a couple months ago. Inside and outside are as neat as a pin, clean, well appointed. The owners and staff are very pleasant. Some parking is available behind the store or if you're lucky you might find street parking nearby. I ordered a veggie pizza and Greek salad. Carrying it home in the car, it smelled delicious. The salad was pretty good, we enjoyed it very much. The pizza had a stiff crust which stays flat when cantilevering a slice into your mouth. But the crust lacked flavor. I wondered if it was a true pizza dough recipe or a flat bread recipe. I prefer a pizza dough that has had a slow fermentation like 24 to 48 hours. Especially for a $25 medium pie. The veggies were plentiful and fresh. The sauce was ok. The cheese was an understatement. I can't say that we really enjoyed the veggie pizza. I gave Viking another go, thinking perhaps a meat pizza would be more satisfying. The Makhshosh has 2X cheese and a German Sausage topping so I thought the combo of more cheese and meat would be helpful. Ok I liked this pizza better than the veggie one. But I prefer a crust that has a rim that has risen in the oven not lay flat to the very edge. That makes me think this is a flat bread dough recipe. I can't put my finger on why I am not delighted with their pizza recipe but I've had better pizza at other places for less dough. (I'm not talking about Dominos or Little Caesar's). You can search my reviews for pizza places I like. I do wish they had more creativity with their cheese selection. They have many unique meat offerings but not much variety in cheese options as far as I can tell. Adding in some sharp cheeses like Estero Gold would help accent the pizza and stand them out from the crowd. Being a Swedish theme place I'm shocked that the Swedish meatball isn't a topping option. Also there are two charges you should be aware of when using a credit card. One is a 5% fee for using a card, then there is another 5% platform fee for ordering with their website. The website order claims I saved one more fee of 10% by ordering from them instead of a third party platform like UberEats or DoorDash. Add in the 10% tax, your $25 pie now costs $35 and that doesn't include the tip yet. The only way to avoid the extra fees is to call up and order over the phone and pay in cash when you arrive at the store. read more

Came to Glendale to watch our daughter's soccer game and had some time to kill. My husband found this place just down the street. Restaurant was very clean, and the service was great. We went with his recommendation on what to order. We were a little skeptical but ordered the Viking Pizza with steak. It was amazing! We just love this place and go out of our way to go there. They have great pizza, salads and sandwiches. The place is so cute and really clean. They take good care of the place and area around it. Parking is easy and free. Their salads are all great, my favorite is their Greek salad. Their pizza crust is perfect, thin but able to hold the toppings. It is never burned. The toppings you order are huge. You can have Swedish toppings as well, like kabobs. I just love the service here. They are so nice. You can eat inside or out and you can always do take away. Their Viking pizza and chicken Kabab sandwich in pita bread are my favorites!! I've been ordering from this business regularly since it was located on San Fernando Rd. I was heartbroken when they closed. I thought it would be forever, but here they are again, and I LOVE their new location! It's such a sweet and romantic spot to dine in, especially during summer nights. I saw the negative reviews because, honestly, I don't see why anyone would have anything bad to say. 1) Preferring little Caesar's is a joke, and this must be a hater trying to mess with ratings. Also, I am not family or a friend, but this is one of my favorite restaurants, so naturally, I'll be protective. 2) the cost of the pizza price. You get what you pay for. You can taste the difference if you buy one of their specialty pizzas. I recommend the Viking pizza. Again, I was heartbroken when I thought they had closed forever and thought I would never experience this flavor ever again. I've introduced some friends to their food, and they also got hooked! Some drive from a long distance just to experience the Viking delight. This is the place to take your friends and family if you want to impress with unique flavor and exceptional quality. The service is also spectacular! They're always so kind and courteous and there is something special about small business owners who love to share their gift with their customers. This is Viking's second location, their other location on Riverside Drive in Los Angeles is not open as of this writing but the owner told me he hopes to in three months or so as he is dealing with city regulations and permits at the moment. Viking's pizzas are excellent. They have a thin, but not flimsy crust, generous toppings, and are always tasty. Never too salty, burned, or overdone, I appreciate their lightness, variety of Swedish toppings (kabobs, salad, etc.), and size. In addition, there are sandwiches (more like wraps) and kabob plates on the menu. I also am a fan of these, generous portions and fresh ingredients. This new location in Glendale has an atmosphere right out of Downtown Disney. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, interesting decor, all in the middle of a nice area near Glendale community college. The food is always good here. We've eaten several times and had no complaints. But they need to figure out their online system - we ordered today and showed up at the time they said the order would be finished. They initially said they never received the order but then admitted that they had "just gotten it". Viking Pizza is officially Back! Their new location is inside the Riverside Tennis Courts area near the soccer field. Drive into the adjacent parking lots and you will see it. Same great Swedish (Målmo) style pizza and of course our beloved "Pizza Salad" and garlic sauce. Same owner (Vartan) as before and looking forward to seeing all of his old regulars. It's only about a 5 minute drive from the old location. Having a Kebob pizza here among the trees and green lawns was an absolute joy. I love this spot! Came here with my family recently and we were all impressed! Their pizzas were delicious, and the wings are a must (the sauce was my favorite). I just had to try the new restaurant around the block from my house. I was quite pleased with the pizza. The crust was amazing. The topping was very unique and I'm looking forward to trying additional pizzas. Given the standard pizza restaurants around town. This is a unique model with Very interesting topping combinations.
