I was in the area for a few nights right after Christmas because I decided to go up in a hot air balloon like a brave (but very cold) person. It was supposed to be in the low 30s, and this South Bay girl quickly realized she did not pack for that kind of weather. To make it worse, my 11‑year‑old packed absolutely nothing warm. Not a single thing. Classic. I stopped in here hoping for a miracle, and honestly, I got one. I found a beanie for her, a beanie for me, gloves for her, and even a lightweight jacket she could layer under her hoodie without "looking bulky" because, you know... preteens and their fashion rules. I was actually surprised by the prices in a good way. I wish I had more time to shop, but my kid refused to get out of the car, so I was basically speed‑shopping while she sat in the car talking to herself like a tiny gremlin. I'll definitely be back. Their Squishmallow prices alone are worth the trip, and I'm a huge collector, so that's saying something. read more

I've been coming to Flipside since they opened a few years ago. They offer a wide selection of items and I find most well priced. Sometimes I see something I'd like yet it is priced higher than I think it is worth- I can return when the 50% sales happen (weekly) and hope to pick product up at 1/2 off. What I mostly come in to shop for is children's clothes to keep at my home when my grandkids visit. I donate items several times a month and it quite easy to do so. The staff do not pilfer through your donations- you merely place your donation in a bin. I appreciate that proceeds from this store go to the United Cerebral Palsy center located next door. read more

This has been the WORST experience I've had in a long time with customer service. I came to this store the other day which normally I spend good money here because I enjoy thrifting. They charged me twice for a fan I bought, which I called spoke to Julio the assistant manager and he told me to come back. I have a baby and toddler and don't live in the area so no I was not going back that same day. Agreed to come back within the next 2 days which I did. I did not bring the receipt because I ran out of my house to an appointment, they made a huge big deal about it. First off it was their mistake for adding another item AND didn't give me discounts on 2 of the items that should have. Still I received no apology and got nasty glares from the other employees not once that I've came into this store have the employees been friendly and go out of their way to just smile. What really got me was when Elda the manager pulled up the camera footage trying to claim I never bought 2 fans. Was I mad at this point yes of course!!! Did I tell her to go back in footage duh!! Why would I come back to a store for all this trouble if I supposedly didn't purchase any fans?? What blows my mind is if I was lying how would I know EXACT time and EXACT price of my receipt that she printed out on her end?? Mam I don't need your $11 dollar STORE CREDIT, not even my cash back. What a joke. I even told her to not worry about it because she was so hung up on me not having the damn receipt. How much more proof do you need for YOUR mistake. Wouldn't even call the store manager because it was his day off. If she did it would've cleared all of this up. Poor management, and poor customer service. Maybe next time take ownership for your employees mistake and APOLOGIZE to the customer. Waste of time, gas, and money. Whoever owns this store needs to really reconsider better employees or retrain on how to handle situations. Such a great combination of what I most covet in a thrift shop: big selection, well organized, basics and quirky finds, diverse offerings (clothes, furniture, jewelry, housewares, linens, games, artwork, etc.), and friendly staff. 2/24/2025 I asked for a price to be put on an item that another exact same item was already priced at $10.99 I asked because they won't sell it to you unless it has a price on it. When the gal came back after talking to her "so-called manager" , he took the original $10.99 price tag off and jacked the price up to $24.99 for each item! Really?! Do they want to sell this stuff or are they trying to run a museum?! Is the greed or stupidity? I'm under the impression that the law says you have to sell an item for the price that it is marked! Maybe Flipside needs to educate and train their employees better! This has never happened at the Goodwill, or Redwood Gospel Super Thrift in the same area! This is the main Thrift Store I donate too, mostly bc they are a local small business or non-profit I'm not really sure. I also donate here bc they make it very easy by having their labeled donation bins right inside the front doors and they take donations during their business hours not just special donation hours. As for shopping and I'm a big Thrift Store shopper but I have found some good finds here like some nice antique Xmas decor and some paintings. The prices seem a little steep here but they always have sales. They have a large clothing and kids section and plenty of furniture. The workers are always very friendly and professional and there is never a long line. The parking however is awful! Always full. Sometimes you have to drive around a few times to find a close spot or walk accross the large parking lot. I don't mind the parking issues when just shopping but when I have donations to bring in it can't get frustrating. read more

We were in the area and decided to stop by. This place is in a shopping center so there's plenty of food parking. This place is pretty big. The clothes was priced a little high in my opinion. There was Christmas decorations at good prices. We found a dog carrier for a great price $10 and in good condition. A lot of things did not have a price and they won't sell the item to you. We had a truckload of leftovers from a flea market and nobody would take them. We went to Flipside/UCP which was totally new to us. A gentleman delivered a large chair to a woman's car and was heading back into the store and saw us and said "Do you need some help?" Oh yes!!! He helped us to load everything onto his large cart and took it into the store for us. We were so happy about that! We ended us shopping there that day and bought $100 worth of goods (really GOOD) and paid $45 for it all. The place is quite large, VERY clean and they have a variety of discounts every day. Senior discount is 50% off on EVERYTHING. We love "thrifting" just for the fun of it but Flipside IS THE BEST IN THE AREA. Thank you Flipside/United Cerebral Palsy. GREAT JOB!!! Staff here are very friendly! The store is maintained really well overall, even with some recent construction. I've found some lovely gems here in the past and I love their mission. Recently, the pricing has gotten very high and it feels like anything remotely nice has a red sticker (no discount) and the price is shocking. So if you want to find vintage gems to keep or resell, it seems like they are catering to a more wealthy crowd. A bit of a bummer. read more

They do have discounts depending on the day, so I guess you can plan your visit accordingly. Because without my student discount, I wouldn't have bought anything. I've never seen a tip jar at a secondhand store! It's awkward and most people thrifting are doing it because they can't afford new items. The prices are very unpredictable and some stuff is more expensive, then retail stores? Also why are you selling, taped up broken frames/pics? The pricier items behind register hanging on the wall, are hard to see. There's too much and it looks cluttered. I don't mind paying a reasonable price and supporting the cause. I've visited this thrift shop several times to see the different shipments they receive, because you never know with thrift shops! However, I wasn't very impressed. S E R V I C E: Staff isn't very attentive. I've seen only one person put things away, and others just sitting around while there is one cashier. I love it when staff is informative about their shipments or items they have spotted and recommend. E X P E R I E N C E: Thrifting is an experience. I enjoy finding little treasures, and being able to try things on (safely and sanitarily of course) but I didn't see a fitting room. There was only one mirror in the whole store, but I do appreciate that the clothes were organized. Prices are pretty high for it being a thrift shop. I saw frames that were $6.75, which is a an average price for new frames from Target. O V E R A L L: I think I've given this place enough visits to know that this isn't the thrift shop for me. As much as I appreciate the size and amount of things they have and the everyday discounts and the senior discounts I have to say two things. 1. I was looking at a vacuum to see if it were worth buying and when I opened it up there was a FILTHY bag in it as FULL as it could possibly be and stuffed WAY up into the hose was what looked like cat hair and litter clean up as far as it could go. I cleaned it out and went ahead and bought it but when I brought it home I turned it upside down and more layers of hair and litter came out when I used a wire up inside, Got it cleaned up and now I have to find bags that fit it, 2, I bought a rice cooker that lit up when at the store but when I got it home the light no longer worked and therefore the cooker no longer worked. I know it's let the buyer beware but for them to put out an item so extremely FILTHY makes me question just how nasty they are about other things, Yuck. read more

This is a small, local non-profit thrift store. If i have anything to donate in the future, I would rather donate it here than to a place like Goodwill. With that in mind, while I am willing to accept higher prices when the proceeds go to charity (inflation is crazy, after all!) the prices are too expensive. Empty, used candle jars were $2.99 each. There was not much stock to look at. A used toothbrush holder that was originally purchased from ross for $5 was still priced at $2 here. I might come back in the future, but not for a long time. Update: I found a purse there for sale that had what looked like rat poop in the pocket. That left me with a not so good feeling. They've also started having a "red tag" section up front of items that aren't included in any discount days. Many items there are higher priced. A very large thrift store! I stopped in quickly looking for a specific item so I didn't get the chance to browse as much as I'd like. But this store has a ton of clothing in the front and more home goods, furniture, art, etc, in the back. I wish there were better and brighter lighting as it gave off warehouse vibes. Prices have been raised too high for USED goods. Thrift stores are supposed to help the community. The community helps them by donating. It's bad! Shoes can be worn through and sell tag says 12.99. They sold me fake silver rings. They follow people they accuse of stealing and lock them inside the store.
