Walking around Armature Works / Heights Public Market, Fold caught my eye with pizzas behind glass that they sell by the slice. I was ready for a second bit and a slice was the perfect size. I opted for their day's special which was $1 more than others but still inexpensive. Loaded with toppings and reheated for me. I was able to grab a nearby table and enjoy it without getting any grease drippings on me. That's always a plus. The crust was crispy, the toppings were delicious and the cheese was melted. We were at an event at the Tampa Convention Center and decided to walk over to Harbour Island for pizza. They have lunch specials Monday -Friday but when we ordered that we were told they don't offer those lunch specials on days when there is an event going on. It was still flashing on their menu board and online with no mention of not having it. So we were a little disappointed. Probably wouldn't have walked over there knowing that. It is quite a bit more to order without the special. The weekly lunch special is 2 pieces of pizza, canoli and soft drink for $14! We ended up paying almost $60 for 6 slices of pizza and 3 soft drinks in a can. Now the pizza was definitely good and had flavor! I had the Blanca and it was very tasty. They also have pasta and calzones and a few other things. Overall the food was good but disappointed in not having the advertised weekly lunch special. read more

I just visited this pizza place with a friend after a night out at American Social. It was very quick service because they had the pizza sitting out. Seven dollars for a slice of pizza seems a bit expensive, considering it's just an average slice. They did have hot honey to put on it at the tables which was nice. They had weird names for the pizzas, so I asked the cashier what came on them and he said "meat" and couldn't even specify, which I thought was a bit odd. Wish we could rate our experience with zero stars. Sadly, the Fold Harbour Island has continued to go "down hill". No one answers the phone now. Stopped by to buy a slice of cheese pizza this week. There was a pizza that had five slices left. We asked how long that pizza had been sitting there. Employees said it came out of the oven an hour and a half earlier. We asked if another cheese pizza would be baked anytime soon. The answer was no. Not sure who would want to pay $6.00 for a slice of pizza that came out of the oven one and a half hours earlier. When we moved to Harbour Island the Fold was so good. We will not give them our business any longer and will leave the island to get pizza in the future. read more

Stopped by The Fold with some friends and grabbed a slice. It's a solid spot if you're hungry and need something quick and cheap, especially late at night. Popped into this spot for a quick lunch. Tried a slice of cheese, the firebird, and the tricolor. The tricolor was by far a favorite, the other slices were okay at best. Excited for more new food options in this area. This place will also be open late so it will make a great late-night spot given it also has a takeout window. Space inside is limited, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. Service was top notch when I went on their grand opening weekend, despite how busy they were. I tried the garlic knot and it was decent, but a bit dry. The pepperoni slice I had was a great portion and very tasty. Definitely will be back for more pizza in the near future and look forward to trying more of the varieties they have readily available. read more

Prepare to pay for the location and not the quantity or quality of food. Cheese pizza was meh. The pepperoni was materially better and was average. They are very small slices (see photo). I don't drink soda but $4.50 for a can seems a bit absurd. There are far better pizza options in downtown Tampa. read more

Always happy to have new options. We tried 3 slices- tricolor, blanco, and Sausage & peppers. Crispy crust, no flop, flavorful. The Blanco had some of the most delicious onions I've ever tasted. $7 a slice is crazy. The chicken parm is decent but there's barely any pasta included, great chicken portion though. The handheld chicken parm has no flavor, it looks good at least but I don't just order food for the appearance. The pizza is not good enough to justify the price... On any day they will decide they are not serving pasta. I tried to order a pasta dish for lunch at their Harbour island location and was told "not today". I asked why because I always get the pasta for lunch. He repeats "not today". They did this to a co-worker who ordered via and app for pick-up. At 6:25 when i asked about my pizza i was told it might be in the oven, he's doing his best (for the window customers). Zero concern or sympathy, even knowing that I work in the same area also serving the same guests. The manager overheard the extremely unconcerned attitude coming from his cashier and didn't speak up until I asked who a manager would be that I could speak to another day. All in all bad service. The Fold must be Latin for Sabarros, because that is what you should expect. To say I was disappointed, was an understatement. My takeout order was 4 slices of the freshest pizza that they had, a cesar salad, and a handheld. 20mins later, my order arrived and it was "not fresh" to say the least. If you are looking for a better pizza and you are near The Fold, just go to 3 Conners which is near by. Frankly Tampa has many, many very fine Pizza by the slices places. My new "GUILTY PLEASURE"! I call it that because I love pizza, but let's be honest, pizza doesn't love anyone back. Those carbs, that cheese, and that nitrate filled pepperoni, but sins of the stomach be d***ed because the pizza at the Fold is THAT good. The fold makes it hard to adhere to my pizza once every few months rule and has instead morphed into a once every other week pleasure. I've already quickly zeroed in on my favorite which is the meatball pizza. My boyfriend and I tend to stick to the same order which is a slice of cheese, slice of meatball, and an order of Italian french fries. We've had their pasta and deemed it ok, as an option to the pizza. The fries are pretty good (not great), as they could be more generous with the topping of shredded parm cheese and chopped parsley. However, it's commensurate with the pricing, and I'd say the same of their pizza slices. This IS expensive real estate on Harbor Island after all, and this branch is all about location, location, and location. We always tend to eat off hours, around 2 or 3p for lunch yet notice that they're always a strong pickup, takeout, and delivery crowd even at that time, so they are always hustling making fresh pizza slices. Dining room and restrooms are always very clean despite how busy the staff is. Seems to pull in more local based on their apparel, and I never notice much a convention that packs the Westin Hotel and the adjacent Starbucks. While not a destination pizza joint that I'd go out of my way to have, if you're in the area, you will be very pleasantly surprised by it as a food option! read more

This was a horrible experience. Seemed nice enough when we first got there. The girl at the register was pretty friendly and there was a nice vibe inside, but that's where the niceties ended. We ordered a meatball sub, a sausage and pepper sandwich and an order of mozzarella sticks for $60! When we arrived, there was only one other couple in the restaurant and they didn't seem understaffed because I saw at least five employees there, mind you this is not a big place. About five minutes after we sat down a family of six or seven walked in and ordered some food. After about 30 minutes of waiting, we noticed that the people in front of us hadn't been served yet either, this should've been our first warning. When the couple in front of us finally did receive their food, the lady took it back and asked for a refund. About 10 minutes after that, they started bringing food to the family that came in after us. And it wasn't like we had a big order and they had a small order and the restaurant was able to just finish it faster. The family behind us had a large pizza and then other hot dishes like chicken Parmesan. And here we are 45 minutes later waiting for two sandwiches. I asked the girl at the counter if they had forgotten about us and she said no, and then ran off to the kitchen before giving me an explanation. She finally came to our table and gave some lame ass explanation that they had to "prepare the sausage for my sandwich", whatever that means. Why didn't you communicate something like that if it was going to take you 45 minutes to make a sandwich?! She didn't apologize, all she said was "Do you want your food, or a refund?" All we wanted was to eat. When they brought our food, my sandwich was pathetic. It was super small and tasted burnt. All that for 60 bucks. Reading these reviews, I feel bad that people think this is the best in Tampa and especially if that's true.. what this place has going for them is that you can get single slices and add to them. The menu doesn't really explain much or have a full list of ingredients/ toppings and employees don't really know either. The person taking our order/ answering our questions didn't know a single answer on his own besides that we couldn't make our own pizza we could only add to the pizzas. If youre desperate for a spot late night or after a night out, this is your spot. read more
