Ok, first cool retro looking place. It's off the beaten path in when I feel might not be the best location. We came by for happy hour starting at 3-6 and the bartender and servers were not to be found. Didn't start out all that great. Server finally came out, she was pleasant and nice but maybe didn't want to be there. Got two drinks, 2 pizzas and 2 apps. Caprese was ON POINT! cheese nuggets- not very good at all, breading was very thick- inside cheese amazing! Pizzas- oh man? They were good! What a great place, the pizza was REALLY delish. Soft crispy crust with rich cheese, fresh tasting ingredients. I came here with a pretty large group and they got the entire order correct, everything was hot and the order accurate, which is hard to do! Everybody loved it! On Labor Day we were glad to get lunch. The bar tender was very friendly but a bit in a hurry. The Fried chicken Sandwich was very good I was told but DO NOT order the mussels. They were just dry and some did not open and some had nothing in them. Still we had a pleasant time talking to the locals. read more

Flipside Pizza is such a fun spot. The retro atmosphere immediately sets the tone and makes it a great place to hang out and enjoy a meal. The pepperoni and hot honey pizza was outstanding. It was the perfect balance of flavors. There were just the right amount of pepperoni cups, the hot honey added a great sweet-heat kick, and the garlic Parmesan sauce on the side was the perfect crust dipping sauce. Every bite was delicious. On top of that, the service was attentive and genuinely friendly, which made the experience even better. I was traveling and staying at the nearby Courtyard, otherwise I'd become a regular here. The food here is a bit of a mixed bag. The cheesy bread was definitely the highlight--absolutely great, just make sure to eat it before it cools down! As for the standard cheese pizza, it came out a bit undercooked. If you order it, I'd highly recommend asking for it well-done. Service could definitely use some improvement. This establishment is a disappointment. To start they completely forgot one of our starters which wasn't a big deal. We had a simple order, 3 apps,cheese pizza and one of their specialties. The first pizza came out about 45 minutes after we arrived and it was burnt the other came 30min after that undercooked and in a Togo box, pretty much telling us to leave... Both pizzas were not cut all the ways through therefor we had to rip the slices. We had children with sodas which the did have fountains for the beverages so it wasn't an issue for refills, but out of the 4 adults not none of us got offered a second adult beverage throughout the 2 hours we spent waiting on food. We noticed they close at 10 but they turned down people coming in at 9:30. Complete disregard for customer service will not be returning to this place. It's a nice looking place but no wonder it's always empty. read more

Ended up here because the more popular Italian/pizza place had an hour wait. We walked over to flipside which is a large kitschy retro style restaurant. There were about 2 booths occupied with a third we would have liked to sit at not cleaned from the last guests (it remained that way even when we were done eating and left). The rest of the available booths were in the dark , so we opted for a table where the restaurant was lit. It appears there were only 3 employees working from what we could tell. The bartender/waiter took our drink orders and those came out reasonably quickly. We waited quite a while for someone else to come by and take our order. We wanted the meatball appetizer and were told they were out. We ordered a couple of apps and a pizza....everything came out basically at the same time which is a pet peeve for me. Call me old school, but Im from a time where appetizers were meant to come out and be eaten before the main course. The caprese was nothing special, the wings were decent. The pizza was sub-par to say the least. It felt like we waited a good half hour for our food to come out...again there were about 3 tables including us and everyone else had their food. If it was paella or some elaborate dish, i'd get it, but a half hour for a pizza and wings makes me wonder what the wait would be on a busy evening. Also there were 4 of us (two adults, 2 kids) and we were only brought over 2 sets of plastic takeout utensils when we asked. When we also asked for silverware for ourselves we were given another set of plastic takeout utensil and told "here are your extra utensils". Immediately at the top of my favorite pizza list!!! Great crust, great sauce, great cheese, you can't go wrong after that start. Wide variety of beer selection, I'm an IPA guy and got a great local option. We just popped into town for the aquarium and wanted to get lunch first, got so lucky!
