When I started going to Flirt Aesthetics, it was called Flirt Wax Bar. I've been a client for about a year now and have never been disappointed. I visit every six weeks for so for brow maintenance, which for me is waxing and trimming. I'm typically in and out in less than fifteen minutes. Flirt is cute inside with comfy seating in the front. Clients are welcomed to the beverages in the mini-fridge. The treatment rooms are simple and clean. Everyone is helpful and friendly. The only thing I wish I could change is the parking situation. Spaces in front are limited and additional parking is across the street. There's no crosswalk nearby and the traffic is fast and furious. All of these artist have left this business. The owner of Flirt ( Raya) SOLD the business because it was clearly going downhill and the NEW OWNERS are...... lost to say the least. 1. I'll start with the owners. They are about 2 months in and all of the great qualities about FLIRT that people fell in love with have gone out the door. These new owners are MONEY HUNGRY. Which, understandable, they just bought a new business but the amount of changes are going to bury this business. Not only have I PERSONALLY sat in the lobby and have heard the new male owner say explicit things to those poor young girls at the front i have also heard communications of charging "people with darker skin" more for their services. We are not talking about the $26 brow wax, We are talking about the overpriced laser services. I have been getting laser for YEARS and know estheticians that would be repulsed at the idea of charging more just based on the color of your skin. We are not talking the color of the hair.... but the color of their skin. Take that in for a second. While sitting in the lobby, (My daughter's appointment was only 45 minutes), the conversations of hiring "spicy latinas" and then firing the one who doesn't fit was disgusting. For context, I am a white woman, However, my daughters father is Hispanic. A grown man sexualizing Hispanic women loudly in the lobby while my 14 year old is getting her first service. I will NEVER return. 2. I have been to this location maybe a total of 9 times in the past year and I can honestly say it is all NEW people. It seems like the turnover rate is amazing for such a small business. 3. DO NOT PUT YOUR CARD ON FILE! They will charge you for ANY reason. You could literally prove the reason you are unable to make it and they will still charge you 100%. Money Hungry to say the least. CALL and make your appointment. Do not book online. The girls, especially Tiffany, offer incredible service. The services are not the problem. The business location (Besides the parking) is not the problem. She is extremely booked and has the most adorable newborn baby so I had to wait 6 months for the soonest appointment. It was worth the wait! She is so sweet and really listens to what you want and executed it perfectly! It's been about a week so my brows are still healing but I love them more each day! It is pricey, I paid $150 for deposit when I booked the appointment and the remaining $650 day of service. This also includes a free touch 1-2 months out from initial visit. Yes, there are cheaper artists out there that can get you in sooner but for me I don't mind paying for quality work and to be happy with results! Such a cute little boutique like wax place. The parking situation is horrible but this place is too cute inside. They have multiple rooms inside. They offer many options like waxing or micro blading. I ended up getting a Brazilian wax. Kirsten was my waxer and she did a phenomenal job. She made me feel at ease even though waxing can be a painful process. She was quick and precise. I was outta there in about 15 minutes. These girls know what they're doing. It was a clean process. They don't double dip. They use a special wax for sensitive skin. I was from out of town and looking for something to do during the weekend. Getting my brows done seemed like a maintenance thing I could get done to pass some time. I looked up this place on yelp and read a few reviews to know I wanted to go here and book with Keisha. I filled out the appointment online using their website. It let me pick the day and time and even though it said they would require a credit card to book, it never asked me for one. Maybe that was because I was a first time client? I filled out the survey and answered all the questions not being fully educated on my skincare routine. I marked no for using any of the two products they asked about. When I got to there and checked in, I got curious and took another look at my skincare products online to see what was in them because I needed to complete the check in form. That is when I noticed there was no _______ in my skincare but there was ______. Sorry couldn't remember the names of the two chemicals they named. I truthfully marked those on my sign in sheet and handed the Ipad back to the front desk. For some reason I thought someone would review it and let me know if I was okay to continue or not before they called me in but they didn't. I went in and Keisha asked me to double check and that is when I told her I did have one of the chemicals in my skincare routine. She told me she could not wax me which was kind of disappointing but I knew it was for the best because I did not want layers of skin being waxed off. Although she could not wax me, she did clean up my brows with tweezers and it was less painful than what I had been previously doing, threading. They looked so good and clean after with a nice shape that I left her room happy. Unfortunately I did not have cash to tip so I tipped with my card. For future clients, they request cash for tip so you can put it in the little envelopes at the front after you are done. As for the waiting experience, I waited past the time of my appointment and it seemed like there was no chance of getting in earlier than appointment time for me and anyone else there. It was not a long wait but it also was not on time. They seemed pretty booked up and have a policy to book an appointment, no walk ins. The place is pretty small up front. They have cute furniture and decor in a little area with a few chairs, coffee table, and couch. Depending on your time of the appointment, they could all be taken and you have to stand awkwardly to the side. It is almost like a small wax bar that is trying to be modern and classy up front but is not fully finished getting there because the walls are painted dark grey, with a few weird paint splotches like they may still be in the process of completing that. Be aware of the cancellation/reschedule policy - they will charge you 100% of the service if you cancel or reschedule if you don't give notice before 24 hours of your appointment - benefits of booking in advance is that you get a discount, but if your life is ever-changing or you aren't 100% sure about the date and time then I do not recommend booking in advance. 2. Facial is average - I had Nova and she was very sweet and knowledgeable, but I felt as though she rushed through with how fast she was moving. If you need to get in and out or prefer a quicker service then this is for you. At the end a he recommended I try their Premium facial next time, but I wish she would have before we began because that was the one I was originally interested in. 3. Front desk team is not knowledgeable or even get answers when they don't have the information - when I called to book the appointment, I spoke with Livia and asked her how much extra the Premium facial is. She said it was newer and not many people have gotten it yet so she wasn't sure but fussed it was $50 more...during my facial I come to find out from Nova that it is the exact same price as the hydrafacial and it has actually been around longer. The worst part is that I asked if she could please confirm the price with an aesthetician, she said they were busy and she would check and call me back or have someone else contact me and I never heard back from them on that. I come to learn she is new, so it's understandable that she didn't know but at the very least hoped for a call back and wish she was honest about being new and not knowing instead of making up an amount. Just had my brows microbladed by Brent today and they turned out AMAZING!!! My brows were so sparse and had no shape to them and I had to fill them in daily- which I am not the best at! He took the time to listen to my goals and what kind of brows I was looking for.. then he was meticulous with mapping them out. He made sure I was comfortable with the shape before starting. I'm not imaginative so I didn't know exactly how they'd turn out once finished, but I trusted him. As a nurse, cleanliness is extremely important to me and he was very careful, clean, and professional the whole time. He provided me with after care education and supplies. This is a prized salon in the area and I understand why now. My friend had her eyebrows done here, so I could see for myself the photos aren't doctored at all. They truly do amazing work. Coming from Lakeland after a 24hr shift, running a little late, I called at 1030 already driving for my 1100 appt that I will be late. I was called back at 1110 saying I would need to be rescheduled. There was no tone of "I'm so sorry let's see what we can do". I understand it puts a strain on the schedule when someone is late, but I called with ample time for them to return the call so I wouldnt have been well into a 45 min drive. This is seriously the best wax salon in Tampa Bay. I used to be waxed by the owner, Raya, who has moved on to bigger and better things with creating her own line of products. Raya knows how to run a business and only hires the best of the best and trains them and brings in people to train them to be exemplary. Everyone has their specialties rather than every staff member knowing every service - which is super important for truly excellent work. While I don't think I would get it myself, Brent's before and afters of his microblading work is the best I've seen. On top of waxing, they do offer microblading and lash lifts. There is no double-dipping with wax. Everyone is super sanitary. The place is clean and so sweetly decorated. This is the only place I would recommend to touch your brows. read more

I begun going to Flirt when they were known as Flirt Wax Bar over 4 years ago. I was new to Tampa and searched "waxing". Flirt Wax Bar was first on the list with rave reviews. I loved how they specialized in waxing with many waxers to choose from who were all equally as amazing. However, the business no longer specializes in waxing. Flirt did not notify clients of their new business model which would have been nice given they no longer have as many waxers to select. Flirt has now moved into more "aesthetics". It does not feel as warm and inviting as it once was, given employees now wear scrubs and play classic "spa music". I loved the personal feel of waxers wearing their own style and playing their own music in the past. Flirt now feels like all other med spas, with nothing special. Flirt has also changed their booking system which has cause overbooking, moving, and confusion in my appointments days before I'm booked. Note, I book my appointments 1 month out in-person with them. This is incredibly frustrating given, then has happened in the past year at least 5 times. As for my waxer, Tiffany... she is AMAZING! I love how she takes her time with me. Tiffany is patient given I am picky and listens to my wants with my eyebrows. Tiffany keeps me coming back monthly, if it weren't for her I would no longer recommend Flirt. UPDATING MY REVIEW as promised to them: I originally gave them 3 stars but after some recent encounters, I am dropping them for their lack of professionalism. I pre-booked an appointment originally for 3/15/2023 to see Tiffany, because she is so great! I was never notified that my appointment had been canceled. I did not think anything of it given they ALWAYS are great about sending out reminders 2 days before and I always attend. I checked back a week later in my account and noticed I did not have anything booked. I went ahead and booked my usual eyebrow appointment as I do monthly for years. The day before I received a text saying they all further appointments of mine had been canceled and I was removed from being a client/member. I was told in the text that they attempted to reach out to me. I checked emails, text messages, and missed calls and never heard from them. Apparently, Flirt Wax Bar/ Aesthetic (not sure of their name anymore given their emails say both names) does not like when you leave reviews stating simple facts like they wear scrubs and play spa music. They could have simply called and discussed my most recent review to make things right, however, decided it was best to drop me after being a member since 2018. They are giving people $10 off for leaving reviews, however, I left a 3-star and was dropped as a client the day before my appointment. Maybe I had too high expectations. But I read rave reviews and I was hooked-- hopeful. I was going to do microblading then got scared about the commitment and also sticker shocked after hearing the price ($600). Also the fact that it requires $150 deposit at the time of booking. Soooo... I tried eyebrow tinting instead. Immediately after it was done, I could tell it was uneven in both shapes, arch, and thickness. I spoke up and the technician tried to keep matching it to the better looking arch of the two. I mean, this was $38 for waxing and tinting so I know it's no match for microblading, but I still thought the brows should match as close to one another as possible. I communicated best I could, and she did the best she could, I think. I had her correct it on my right brow at least few more minutes. On the way out, I booked an appointment for lash lifting and tinting for two weeks later.. So today, not even 24 hours later... I can tell my brows are almost all faded. The technician told me this should last anywhere from 2-3 weeks, varying on individuals. Apparently, mine is less than day. I am going out of town for a week so I can't even go back to get them fixed. This disappointing experience and result makes me change my mind about lash tinting and lift too. When it was time for my appointment I ended up having to call ahead since I had not heard from them in six months. I had an appointment scheduled on Friday. When I called they had moved my appointment to Thursday. I said whatever and was flexible. Got my brows done and they look great. Very happy with the job that was done. Paid in total about 800. As I was leaving the lady at the front told me it would be better to schedule out a little more than a month because it could still be healing. I said okay let's do that. Before she could the girl sitting next to her said oh do it 4 weeks out. So she scheduled me four weeks out. As she did that she told me if I wanted to wait a bit longer to just call back and they would move my schedule around. I said great okay thanks. Today I called, two weeks from my touch up date to reschedule. I called maybe five times before someone answered the phone. I asked if I could push my date back. Stephanie whom talked over me the whole time kept Reiterating that they could not move my appointment. That they were full. She didn't care what I had to say and was rude and at very least condescending. This is a permanent thing on my face. I want the best possible outcome. Online and the pamphlet they handed me said I should wait 6-8 weeks. I was flexible with them changing my six month reservation. And after spending close to a thousand dollars I expected some sort of flexibility on their end. As a costumer I am not happy. We decided on a date (more than a month out) as microblading appointments are something that understandably has to be booked further out. I had cleared my social calendar and was following pre appointment protocol only to find out two days before - they had booked me for a WAXING. What. The. Heck. Clearly not what we had talked about. And to find out two days before my "appointment" that they botched my appointment was pretty upsetting. Now I can't get in until right before thanksgiving and will have to show up to thanksgiving with unhealed brows that will be red. Exactly what I was trying to avoid. All I got was a "oh sorry" and "the earliest we can get you in is" which is beyond frustrating. I've never done anything like this before so I was very apprehensive... Downright nervous! And I didn't know if I could go through with it. But, I must say, walking in to this place felt like I was walking into a very posh spa. It was such and elegant place that my nervousness started to melt away immediately. And then out came this very sweet smiling face, Michelle, welcoming me. From the moment we began talking I could sense not only her confidence in her skill, but her knowledge came through as she was able to clearly communicate all the details and put me at ease. The owner, Raya, came in to say hi and she also exuded this very peaceful demeanor that once again made it feel like I was having a spa experience. I had very light and thin eyebrows and usually filled them in quite a bit. I was amazed at this technique she used to make it look like little hairs and not solid color, as I have seen on many women who have had permanent eyebrows. This cute little place is located in a small plaza on MacDill between Bay View and Knights Ave. I come here each month for a Brazilian wax. Both Arielle and Kirsten are fantastic. As awkward as it could be, both ladies make it easy and as relaxing as possible. They recommend avoiding caffeine the day of your wax and also taking an Ibuprofen before your appointment. A Brazilian wax is usually $54, but I opted for their membership option. I pay $42 for one Brazilian wax each month. I'm very pleased with the service and feel it's worth it. Parking is atrocious as there are only a handful of spots in front of the shop, but there are more spots behind the building off Bay View. Definitely come here for your waxing needs! read more
