He is closing his business in less than 30 days and I was informed he is not honoring the 16 90-min floats I have paid for (paid a couple hundred dollars and there no expiration date). After a few words I said I was going to report him; his reply was "Go ahead - Im going out of business!" Guess he wants the tourist $ before he closes on 15Jul2025 and not previous loyal customers that supported him these years. No wonder he cannot keep a business open with this type of customer service and attitude. So beware if you purchase any floats that this might happen to you also. Not a happy customer! read more

This place once cared about cleanliness and their customers. Now it's a zoo that smells like bird crap because of some giant exotic bird being kept there. The bird is aggressive and is usually kept in laundry room where it literally poops all over the areas where these ppl wash/dry and fold the towels that patrons use. wtf!!! how gross?? Nothing is consistent there anymore. Owner is rude and weird and seems like he literally hates customers at times. Thought he was funny and charming at first but after all these years and watching him run this place into the ground while pretending to care about community and veterans and whatever other tagline he can give-- it is all too much and gross. Reserved my float visit for 90 minutes, and this was the most relaxing 90 minutes I have had in a while. I have a very busy schedule from working 40-50 hours a week, high volume stress/anxiety, gym twice a day and yoga three times a week. The Nature Pod was amazing to say the least....the relaxing music was a plus (to which I fell asleep in no time) My muscle aches and pains were alleviated by being able to stretch my body in a pod full of epsom salt with no need to fight gravity. I felt weightless, relaxed and stress free from all of my everyday trials and tribulations. Awesome relaxation! For me it was even more of a physical value than a mental one, probably because it was my first float and I was playing around with all the options. I did a 1-hour float, and afterwards felt like I got a massage (including the soreness from tight muscles that released). It's been over 24 hrs and I still feel the results. Also I had obvious improvement in shoulder mobility when I worked out today, so I plan to do it periodically as part of my wellness routine, and everyone should definitely try it at least once! I was nervous about being enclosed, possibly falling asleep in water, etc. but actually the pod is much bigger inside than it looks. You have total control of your experience because you can open and close it, there's no lock on the lid, it's super easy to push open or pull shut or leave somewhere in between. you can control the lighting, etc. For my first float, I didn't close the lid at first, but eventually I felt comfortable and closed it and felt great. Then I ultimately turned off the light as well and it was fantastic. This being my first float session I tried to keep an open mind although I did read the other reviews just to get my bearings. I made the appointment after seeing that Float Bro. was right next door to the donut shop we happened to have wandered into. I believe he was one of the co-owners and was very informative and nice when I stopped by with questions. There were no heavy handed sales pressure gimmicks so that was great. Once we figured out our schedule, I made 2 appointments for the next day. There are 3 rooms that you can choose from, the nature room, space room and patriotic room. I choose the nature room and it has a large wood/forest mural across one wall. When we arrived for our appt., we filled out a questionaire and waited. And waited some more. The lone female staff apologized for the long wait, but it seems the people before us had taken their sweet time which meant that the pools were still being cleaned out for our turn. During this time, we watched an info taped introduction that was quite simply, very home made. When we finally got into the room, I realized that the headphone jack didn't plug up into my phone without having to take it out of the case, which is a definite no for klutzy me and water. The right side of the room is the "dry" area which is where you put your clothes and other things you do not want to get wet. There is a showerhead in the corner you can use to rinse off before and after your float. The shower curtain was the clear, cheap vinyl but I appreciated that since the room is pretty dim and the clear curtain let you shower while letting in some light. Once in the tub, you can either choose to float with the light and/or music on. There is a small portion of a swim noodle that you can use to rest your head on but mine slipped out from underneath me and instantly woke me up so I instead used it to prop open the tank door since it became so muggy inside. However, I would caution anyone who does this cause this will lead to condensation on the inside of the tank and if you happen to float into one of the tank walls, the sale water droplets could land in your eye as it did me. Salt in eyes will ruin a spa moment. trust me. One thing I did not like was the light inside the tank. It's not the nice, ambient blue light you see online, instead, it's a simple pool light and when its on it makes the session less therapeutic IMO. Also, the speakers for the music is LOUD and is right where your head goes, so I had to turn myself around in order to get away from the music. I really was hoping for a very relaxing, maybe transcendent moment but I didn't get that. Maybe it was me, maybe I was concentrating too much on whatever, but I was hoping for so much more. I'm not going to totally knock down the experience or Float brothers. The tank and layout of the place was nicely done. However, the staff did say she was new to the job so that explains the shyness and inexperience. read more

I went today for my first ever "float". I'd like to share my experience so that others know what to expect, and maybe to give the owners a few tips for improvements. I called to make appointments for my husband and I at the same time, which I told the gal at the beginning. I had to go through the entire process, including credit card details to hold the reservations, twice. Should be a simpler way to book "for 2". Note that their policy is to charge 50% for cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment. The facility is a small parcel in the strip shopping center in front of Marshall's and adjacent to Fresh Market, on Commons Dr. There's a small reception area with a single bathroom, and three "spa" rooms: the Nature Room, the Space Room, and the Patriot Room. (Patriot Room? Why not an Ocean Room instead?) They are all the same, except for a large wallpaper mural (humongous flag for the Patriot Room). In the corner, there is a shower head with thin plastic shower curtains, and complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap. There are rubber floor mats in the wet areas, over concrete. Then, there is a wicker chair, a towel, and a small table with some body lotion, makeup remover oil, a box of tissues, and a couple of cotton pads and Q-tips. Of course, the focal point is the floatation chamber. The chamber is a large, lidded container, with about 10" of body-temp salt-saturated water, with optional soft blue light and ambient music. In the chamber, they provide ear plugs, a washcloth, a spray bottle (in case you get salt in your eyes), and a section of foam noodle for head support. After filling out the registration paperwork, which includes acknowledgment that you will pay $1000 if you pee in their pool (I appreciate that), you are provided a brief tour to explain the process and equipment. Once in the room, you shower, climb into the chamber, lower the lid, choose whether you want the light or music, and float for the next 60"-90". Even without the earplugs (mine fell out), it is almost silent, and so dark that I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. It is very relaxing, both physically and mentally. Afterwards, you shower, dress, and go home with wet hair. Personally, for this type of experience, I would prefer a more spa-like environment. A real shower with glass doors, or at least heavy-weight shower curtains, maybe some nice teak floor mats, and a place to dry your hair when you're finished would go a long way. Oh, and 2 towels, please (ladies need one for the body, and one for the hair!) I recognize though, that this is a start-up business, and they have done a good job to cover the basics. The staff was friendly and informative, the float itself was enjoyable, and the price was fair. If you want a different kind of relaxation therapy in Destin, I recommend you give it a try. read more

I first floated about a year ago in Orlando and couldn't wait for this to come to Destin. You will never have a relaxation experience like this...ever! The float pod allows you to feel completely weightless. Once you get settled in, any waves go away and you are left in complete stillness. After a few minutes, your brain truly shuts down. I caught myself coming in and out of this awesome consciousness. It's like I completely forgot where I was and was totally immersed in thought sometimes and at complete peace at other times. Just a completely different experience than a massage. Float Brothers has a customer for life here! The spa is really nice with the lobby having a modern minimalist feel. I think the interior signage is probably my favorite part of the lobby. The float rooms have interesting themes and I thought everything was very clean. I just had my first experience in a float tank and I loved it!! I'm a painter and I have arthritis in my shoulder and knee. It helped me so much! I was amazed! It's also very relaxing. I can't think of anything better for relaxation. I enjoy a massage, but sometimes the person doing the massage can be too hard or too talkative. You won't have those problems at all! The brothers are very helpful and do everything to make your experience the best it can be! The tanks are very clean and they supply you with towels and shampoo, etc. I highly recommend trying this whether you have soreness and tight muscles or not. It's very relaxing! read more

Why the patriot room? (I think the better question is why would an American question the idea of having a patriot room?
