I was gifted an experience here for my birthday and I chose the 45 min sauna and the 60 minute float. When I arrived, I was greeted by the gentleman and checked in. He explained how things would flow during my time there. He guided me to the sauna room first and explained how to enter the sauna capsule. I was given space and time to undress and enter the capsule. He knocked and entered the room as he stated he would just to make sure that I was correctly in the capsule. I was not lol. So I'm glad he came in to correct. The sauna was at 99 degrees I believe an it got toasty quick. There is a clock on the wall that you can see. About halfway through, I got too hot (I'm not a regular sauna user so this may be a newbie thing) so I removed myself from the capsule to cool off a bit. I later got back in with about 10 min left on the clock. The timer went off and I grabbed my things and walked out to lobby area to go to the float room. Once in the float room, he explained that the pod would fill with water and that the lights would go out. In the room is a floatation pillow for your head to use if you prefer. There's also a shower in the room for after your float. They also provide ear plugs and Vaseline to apply if you've got any nicks and scratches to avoid irritation from the salt water. The actual float was nice. The pod stays open the whole time and there's ambient music playing in the beginning to relax you. The total darkness was fine for me but may be difficult for others. I floated on my back initially and kind of just let the water carry me. I switched to a stomach float later on, using the flotation pillow under my chin. It was really nice to relax and bounce off the pod walls without feeling the need to course correct. My only concern was the airflow in the float room. I'm not sure if there was any or if it was just warm due to the water in the pod (the water is lukewarm btw). Maybe I was just overthinking. Overall it was a nice relaxing experience! read more

This was my first visit, but definitely will not be my last! Float Nola is located in an area with ample parking. I visited on the weekend, so parking was free. It is appointment only. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Cecil. He was very friendly and informative. The establishment immediately soothed me with it's peaceful aura. I visited for the flotation pod. I was then set up with the float room. He explained the flotation process and set proper expectations. The flotation experience was super relaxing. I was able to meditate the entire time and left feeling like I lost weight. It is a very relaxing experience. They offer many other services, such as massages. I booked two packages with a facial, massage and reflexology for a special afternoon with my granddaughter. The facial was great. The massage was okay but really does not compare two other places I've been. The reflexology was just flat out painful as his nails were long and sharp at the edges and digging into my foot. My granddaughter said the exact same thing. Most places I go have a little basket in the room where you can leave a tip. As I did not see one in either room I was about to ask about that when the massage practitioner actively and rather pointedly requested a gratuity. I thought this was incredibly tacky but as I had every intensive leaving when I had asked him if he could take my debit card since I had run out of the house with only a small amount of cash. He said he could take it but it was a lot of work because he had to log in and put in my information and wanted me to do venmo. I explained to him that I have been having issues with venmo as my credit union does not allow it. He pushed for the venmo route so I stood there at the front desk trying to fight with the stupid app. I had to use an actual credit card, but then find out that I would be charged a fee for going that route as the venmo account is not listed as a business. I told him I would need to wait until I got home to get it set up with the routing and account number at which point he decided that it was not a problem for him to log in and take my credit card. By that point I was so annoyed that I told him no that I would be home shortly and will take care of it at that point. His behavior was in such poor taste that it ended our afternoon on a rather sour note. Had he not tackedlessly asked for the tip and been willing to take my debit card as I originally offered without wanting me to jump through hoops so that he could get his money faster I would have left a much more generous tip but at that point I was very tempted not to leave one at all but for the fact that the woman who did the facial was lovely. I had a friend who was anxious to hear how we liked it as she was interested in booking an appointment but at this point I truly could not recommend them. read more

For a float experience I recommend. Big tanks with lids. You can't leave the tank lid partially open. It's either closed or open. No middle ground. They give you a smart water when you get out. They have recently added massage services. But scheduling them back to back is a hassle. And if you pre-pay for services they will "not be able to find it" day of service and try to recharge you before you leave. Fair warning, if you leave hair dye in the tank-the fine print reads it's a $1500 charge to clean it. So keep that in mind. I recommend the float but not the massage add-on. I made a reservation several days in advance for the float and infrared service at Float Nola for a restorative day on my birthday. Upon ending the call, the owner realized he had booked my appointment for the wrong year. He assured me he would fix it. On the morning of my appointment, I arrived 15 minutes early and started filling out paperwork. The owner initially mistook me for someone else, then answered a phone call. When he finished his call, I gave him my name, he said they had no record of my appointment. I assured him I did, and he accusatorily claimed I hadn't confirmed when they called - I never received a confirmation call from them. I was shocked and reminded him about the booking error from earlier, which he remembered. Even after acknowledging his mistake, he refused to take accountability and became hostile to me. He reluctantly offered to fit me in at 5 pm, but I insisted it was unacceptable. He became visibly upset, claiming it would inconvenience others, but eventually agreed to allow me to proceed with the service. He was very short with me, told me to shower before and after, and closed the down behind me. To my dismay, the water appeared discolored, and I even found a dead spider in it and concluded the water might not be adequately maintained between clients. I could hear him chatting loudly with another man in the lobby about unrelated topics like sports bars for about 20 minutes during the session. There were earplugs in the room, but I didn't use them, assuming they were for the saltwater not to drown out the owner's conversation in a supposedly tranquil wellness space. The conversation was so loud that I had to leave the tank to grab my phone and put on my own meditative music. Ultimately, it was not a good experience. The first 35 minutes of my hour-long session were spent trying to calm down from the stress of the situation. After the float, I asked the owner if a shower was available after my sauna session. Instead of a shower, I was told to take a cold plunge (what?!?), which was unsuitable for cleaning up before my following activities. At the end of my visit, I spoke briefly with a woman who claimed to be the co-owner. I expressed my dissatisfaction, mentioning the incident with the other owner and raising his voice. She apologized; it did not seem sincere or empathetic, but offered to comp the de minimus amount left after using a gift card, citing it was my birthday. However, considering the poor service, I felt the gesture was insufficient. Overall, my experience at Float Nola was deeply disappointing, and I will not be returning. ***Update: In her response below, the co-owner indicated they attempted to rectify the situation by "waiving the remaining balance." Absolutely do not recommend based on scheduling alone, which has been a nightmare. I have been trying to book a massage plus float here for almost two months now because my boyfriend purchased a gift card. Every time I call, there is some sort of issue and I get the runaround. First they couldn't find the gift card, then they scheduled me for the wrong time. They also always complain about saints games Sundays and say you shouldn't go then. I went here on May 29th to experience float therapy for the first time. At first, it was a little difficult to just relax into it, without my mind trying to race. But once I was able to relax and calm my mind a bit, I truly enjoyed the experience. From the moment I arrived, to being brought into a float room, to the amenities, the experience, how thoroughly everything was explained to me, to the end of the experience, everything was marvelous. Cecil is a master architect, and he truly thought of EVERYTHING when he opened this spa. He was courteous, he communicated with me at length via email beforehand, put my nerves at ease and explained everything about the process thoroughly. The ambiance of the place, the spot on cleanliness, the COVID measures taken, everything was perfect. They even gave me earplugs, and a pillow to prop up my head and neck, in case my head got too heavy. Cecil accommodated me by playing the music a little longer than the standard time, to make me a little less nervous. All in all, a wonderful experience. A little on the pricey side, but I'm not removing a star for that, because the price is fitting for the quality. But I will certainly return when I have the money. I've sampled three places total now, and Flot Nola has set the bar. The team there has thought of EVERY detail. In a stroke of serendipty, my phone died the second I tried to snap a picture of the tank; the universe letting me know I really needed to plug in. First you're given a brief tour of what I can only describe as a float suite. It's huge and warm (heated to YOUR body temp which is scanned once you get in the room -- like I said..EVERYTHING) and feels luxurious. I use that word sparingly, but this place defines a spa that has been built with finesse. Doesn't hurt that the man running the show was also an architect. He thought of everything in order to create the perfect float experience. All the essentials are provided for you, and done in so much style I could hardly stop smiling before I got in. I know I'm leaving all sorts out, but you're just going to have to see it for yourself! A word on the cleanliness: immaculate doesn't cover it. The other float studios I went to were a mix of too open and too clutterd, at least in comparison to this oasis. How this guy is working in the service industry is beyond me. I dealt with who I believe is the owner of the business. Can't remember his name but he was a short, older, heavyset guy. They tacked extra charges onto my appointment without ever having told me about it. When I called in to dispute the charges the guy I spoke to got extremely defensive and cussed me out. He also made some homophobic slurs at me. I'm not even really concerned about the erroneous charges at this point but someone with this type of temperament has so business working in the service industry. My flotation session was amazing! The room was spotless clean and had a truly amazing shower setup. The tanks are filled when you arrive and the room is set up at the right temperature - so you can have your float experience with the pod open or closed. They provided all the amenities, plush towels, mats, soaps, lotions, ear plugs, even a robe! There's a hook up for your own music if you wish. Everyone was very friendly. The entire spa is five star with chairs available to relax after your float. I walked out of there feeling fresh and chilled out, the reset button pushed. I plan on going back regularly! This place was incredible. Not only did I feel fully welcomed, but my float was wonderful and peaceful. They were amazingly accommodating, and even extended the time they kept the music on since I was nervous. My only complaint (and the ONLY reason I didn't give them 5 stars) is because I would've been happier if they'd added a little bit more water. Beyond that, I would've been a lot more comfortable if I'd had control over when the lights went out inside the tank. This business made an unauthorized charge on my credit card. My wife and I scheduled our first float ever. It was actually a surprise present for me. The night before our float I was brought to the hospital via ambulance due to severe food poisoning. My wife called Float NOLA and left a voicemail, and emailed them when I was brought to the hospital to reschedule. This was during March 2021 when New Orleans was still under a mask mandate and just receiving vaccinations due to Covid -19. The morning before our appointment, my wife called and followed up again to reschedule. The owner rescheduled our appointments personally and expressed that we could not get a refund but we could reschedule for a different day. The day we went in, everything was great. We were greeted hello and goodbye by the owner and not once did my wife pull out her credit card or signed for any payment authorization. The next day, my wife noticed a second charge for two additional floats by float NOLA. She immediately called and spoke with the owner. The owner expressed that the charge was "automatic" through their payment system and expressed that the payment go through "square" and would take two weeks to refund. My wife contacted the bank as well. Now months later, my wife was notified by her bank that Float NOLA did not in fact refund our money and sent a long letter about their "refund policy" and jibber jabber about 24 hour notice. The owner of this establishment is not only a thief but a liar. He was telling my wife one thing and did the complete opposite. When my wife tried to call and inquire about this once again and the owner hung up on her. New Orleanians and visitors beware. They will charge your card without authorization. The owner appears calm and welcoming, however; he is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Nothing but a prejudice con man and an excuse of a business owner. read more

Cecil at the front desk was super nice, while I was waiting for my friend he let me nap in a massage room with a heated bed which was so relaxing. Lydia who did the facial was also very nice! she spent extra time with my extractions and was so thorough with the treatment, she has a very gentle and calming aura that made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Ashley was very friendly and helpful with booking the appointments and accommodating to our crazy schedule / travel plans without a problem. This business must not be doing well because they are desperate to take your money. I called and made an appointment over the phone and was scheduled for a few days later. I then had a covid scare so I called the evening before the appointment (approx 20 hours before the scheduled time) and left a message that I needed to cancel. If they would have just called me back the next morning to say they were going to charge me bc they consider less than 24 hours a no show - I could've had a friend go in my place or figured out something so someone could've enjoyed it. Instead, a few days later I received an emailed receipt saying they charged my cc $240. I called them and asked how they charged me without my authorization and they said they could bc the policy is on the website. Well I never went on their website bc I called and made my appointment over the phone. He also of course could have told me this policy when making the appointment as most reputable spas would do. I also asked if he could let me reschedule and use the funds that he already charged me. He told me he would talk with his biz partner and call me back. Of course he never did so I called again to check the status. He told me the same thing again and of course never called me back. I disputed the charge with my cc company without success and these crooks got to keep my money bc the policy is on the website. They also told the credit card company during the dispute that I would be put on some list and won't be able to go to other spas in the city. I have worked in the luxury spa world for over 15 years as an esthetician at a four star/five diamond hotel. I started at the front desk in college and eventually became a service provider. In all my years I have never provided/received such terrible customer service and thoughtlessness when it comes to the way you should treat your guests, especially as a first time customer. The overall ambiance and space are really wonderful. I enjoy the heated rooms with the tanks. Privacy is A+++ and you have plenty of space. The tank itself is easy to open and close and I love the pool noodle for your neck (I've floated at other spots and never had one and it's a game changer). the place was very clean, but the service and staff were disappointing, to say the least. i left avery detailed review on their facebook page, so i'll just give you the highlights: -unprofessional employees, didn't follow up on concerns listed on intake form, give me any kind of idea what the service would entail, weird comments made -door knocked on AND ANSWERED during my service. no acknowledgement or apology at all -employees had personal conversations in front of me as i was trying to relax should have known such a low price for a body scrub was too good to be true. stick to the floating, take yourself elsewhere to get decent spa services. read more
