Non-claustrophobic! The design is not at ALL "coffin-like." You have your own room, which contains a small enclosed "pool" which has gentle lights (if you want), a way to pipe in music/sounds from your iPod (again, if you want). I figured I would last 45 min, tops. The soft music "cue" to end my session woke me up! I guess I relaxed! I enjoyed some delicious tea afterwards; don't be in a rush to race right out. I almost canceled my session because I was 2 days into an excruciating cluster headache and was assuming no less than 3 more days to go (based on my previous patterns). The cluster headache was gone when I "woke up" and 10 hours later, it's still gone! The spa is spotless. The owners are very nice and excellent at explaining how this all works. You have your own room with a shower and the float tub. And there's even a dressing room. They supply you with everything. My first time floating was weird but relaxing. I didn't know what I was walking into. Staff was extremely helpful and so nice. They explained everything. You have to shower first then get in the tub for 90 mins there is a light that you can have on in the tub but the lights near the shower turn off on there own. When the 90 mins is up the light turns on. They supply you with ear plugs soap towels aux cord for your music and so much more. I thought 90 min was gonna be way to long. I had a floating session last month. It was my first time ever going. I thought that I would treat myself after a long day of work hoping to unwind and relax. However, that is not exactly what ended up happening. One thing that I noticed was there was a dirty ring around the pool that I was in. I made the staff aware of the uncleanliness , but I didn't feel as though anything was done about it to make me feel better. I went to the bathroom to blow dry my hair and there was a very bad smell coming from the drain. The roof must have a leak of some kind because the ceiling inside of the bathroom was brown and moldy. There was a dirty brush in the bathroom filled with multiple peoples hair. I did not feel that the location was very sanitary. I probably won't be going back there again. read more

Talk about a relaxing experience! I was very skeptical at first of "float therapy". Boy was I wrong. Floatopia is a therapeutic setting that makes you feel like you're at a spa. When you first walk in you will be greeted by a friendly staff member. I was greeted by the lovely Vanessa! The deco is very clean, chic, and cozy. I was given a tour of the suites, sauna and salt cave before entering my suite. In my suite there was a shower and my salt tank. If you're wondering what you need to bring I would advise a bathing suit (unless you feel comfortable going bare) and a hair brush (they have a blow dryer). They even have makeup wipes! The best part for me was finally getting into the salt tank. At first I was a little uneasy as my brain was thinking about a million different things but before I knew it I was calm and my body was floating. I was relaxed and my breathing was steady. My eyes began to shut and I took an amazing nap (no you will not drown). Once my 60 minutes were up the lights came on and light music began to play. I rinsed off the salt water and put on my robe to dry. Lastly, I enjoyed a cup of hot strawberry tea by the Christmas tree. It was a wonderful experience and I enthusiastically recommend everyone to try it at least once. However, I promise you you'll be back again! read more

I am sorry to say that after my fourth time coming here for flotation therapy, I will not be back. Compared to the other times I came, it seems that the cleanliness has gone downhill. I came with my partner, and both of us noticed that our float rooms smelled moldy. My partner also noticed hair that was definitely not hers both in the tub and on the walls. It's clear the tanks are not being properly cleaned after use and the fact that I floated in someone else's water just made me feel disgusting afterwards. The washcloth in my tank smelled musty when I used it. The mold smell also made it hard to breathe through our noses after a while. She got out of the tank early, and I also was actually relieved when the session was over. Disappointing because in the past we had no issues. I even have a gift certificate that was given to me by my daughter last year and I don't think I'm going to use it. read more

My girlfriend and I went to Floatopia for a few hours of relaxation. We have always thought about "floating" and wanted to see if it was worth it, as well as find out how the salt cave could benefit and relax us. The staff at Floatopia were extremely friendly and informative. They explained everything we needed to know and understand before floating, what to do, how we'd feel after, etc. The facility was immaculately clean and welcoming. The atmosphere was so relaxing and calm, and the float rooms/pools even had a subtle scent of peppermint! It was amazing. The salt cave was so soothing as well, we almost fell asleep! There is a small lounge to relax in afterwards, as well as complementary tea. We had the Coastal Craft kombucha (on tap!) which was of course amazing. We would love to come again! Two days ago I tried Floatopia's salt cave and I did a 90 minute float. James made everything easy and clear for us and it was really nothing short of miraculous. I had my first experience at floatopia and let me just say in short it was amazing!! I have floated before but this was by far the best one. Upon entering I was greeted by the most lovely, helpful, happy woman named Molly. She made sure we were at home and comfortable as well as giving super thorough instructions and insight on how the session would go. The store it self is calm, peaceful and extremely clean! They have an entire refreshment area with teas coffee and kombucha on tap! I also loved that you get a personal robe and slippers that you can lounge in once your session is over. I can't wait to go back and utilize their salt cave ! Had a great experience. Felt amazing after the 90 minute float that lasted for days.

This was my third float, I was looking to try a different place and see if there were different vibes or aesthetics. Vanessa at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. The space is really beautiful--the lounge area in the back has couches to lounge around on plus teas and a pampering room. As for the float room #3 itself I had like a pod with a low ceiling. I'm not claustrophobic so that was not a problem. For those who haven't floated before--you disrobe entirely in a private room, shower, put in ear plugs, and then enter the room where they have low colored lights on. The water is very warm and slick and you're completely buoyant. The lights go off is you want them too (if not you can keep them on), and you're there in the dark for an hour. Tip: For women--*highly* recommend that use the vaseline product they have there on your lady parts. I discovered the first time I floated that women can get intense fire-ant burning there because of the PhD differences. You've been warned! Any scrapes or burns should also be covered. When it's over, the lights come back on, you shower (use lots of conditioner!) and are free to lounge around. I liked the nice touch of a spa robe, which was not available the other place I went, and the spa area itself. I find floating to be difficult, to be perfectly honest--I struggle with relaxing and not getting fidgety for an hour floating and watching my thoughts race around in the dark. I would imagine I'm not alone, but it's good to force yourself to confront that and then try to let go of them in an environment of space and darkness. I know elite athletes use it for training. I should add, as an athlete, I've noticed the benefits of reducing muscle aches and soreness. Overall a great place to float, highly recommended! read more

Staff is so warm, welcoming, accommodating and kind; the float rooms are beautiful and so spacious - the most spacious I've ever seen (great for anyone who may fear potentially feeling claustrophobic!); the sauna is gorgeous it's huge and gets really hot (but you can adjust the temp) and has a Himalayan salt ground!!!; every detail of this place feels like a lot of intention was put into it - it's so pristine and beautiful; and the prices are so low! I am always looking for new ways to stay healthy and take care of myself. I came across floatopia on Groupon and purchased a deal for the salt cave. I had heard from friends who had tried floating here and they loved it, but to be honest the thought of floating for 90 minutes scared the crap out of me! So, my husband and I did a 45 minute session in the salt cave and we were hooked! The space is so clean and spa like. You can buy some kombucha or make yourself a tea when you're session is over. I felt so zen! My husband and I took the plunge and purchased floating sessions to give it a try and it was so worth it! I was surprised how quick it all went and how relaxed I was after. After your session you can lounge in the back in a big comfy robe and just reflect. We loved it so much that we bought the monthly membership and we cannot wait to go back! I absolutely loved my experience at Floatopia! I was unsure about trying something so far out of my comfort zone but as a Cycling instructor, I knew it could be a game changer for me in terms of muscle recovery. And as a human, well who doesn't want to just relax? From the moment I made the appointment, to my arrival, James and the staff made sure my friend and I felt comfortable and they explained everything to us as we went. First, the facility itself is impeccably beautiful, modern and welcoming. It had the feel of a luxurious spa. Second, their website was a wealth of knowledge regarding all the treatments they offer and their benefits, but in person James was able to expand on some of that information and answered all my questions. Third, I think the pricing structure is fair and allows regular folks like me to try something different. Fourth, they provided everything we might need in terms of ammenities. There was a shower and towels as well as slippers and robes. We started with the Salt Cave which is more focused on respiratory benefits. All I know is the salt felt great on my bare feet and I went right to a peaceful sleep during my time in the cave. I am glad I did that prior to doing the Float Therapy. It can be intimidating and anxiety inducing to be alone with your thoughts for 90 minutes, but the way it is all laid out and explained made it super easy. It takes a little bit of time to find how it is you feel most comfortable floating (yes for real) LOL but once I got that down and quieted my mind I fell asleep. I was out for I think about 45 minutes. I twitched and got some water in my eye but it wasn't too bad - they have a spray water bottle that I used and it was fine. James told me not to rub my eyes but I still did it anyway! I am not claustrophobic but it is worth mentioning that not being enclosed and the fact that you can keep a dim light on made it easier to relax. They also had a neck device to help keep your neck in line - I tend to carry a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders so this was especially helpful for me. Afterwards I showered and put on their super soft robe and had some tea while chatting with my friend. I felt extremely relaxed and my muscles felt nice and loose. I am glad I had an open mind when trying this because I think I benefitted from it so much. Beyond the physical - I felt recharged mentally as well. I can't remember the last time I forced myself to relax for that long and forgot how good it feels to do it. I want to come back and work on quieting my mind a little faster so I can spend more time asleep while I float. The next day I taught a class and felt really great physically and there is no doubt the Floatation Therapy and Salt Cave helped. This place is amazing this is my 5th float and I have to say so far was my best float. First of all the staff is extremely knowlegable and the float rooms are all so clean large and fresh . The showers are beautiful and I love the fact that the float room itself is gigantic I have been to a few different locations and this was by the the most spacious rooms. by no means is it claustrophobic plenty of space to spread out and float comfortably . I have to admit I was skeptical to try float therapy at first but I'm ecstatic that I gave it a chance. The float is 90 minutes, which may be a long time for most, but it really gives you an opportunity to unwind and relax. In fact, after the session I honestly felt like a million bucks. The center even has a lovely array of teas to try after your session. The staff was polite, helpful, and was there to walk you through everything. To those who are nervous to be in a closed area alone just know there is an intercom system in place for you to contact the front desk in case you need anything.
