I'll be explaining my whole float sesh, this will be a long one: The customer service here is excellent. I bought two gift cards online and was able to call and quickly book an appointment over the phone, I believe who helped me on the phone was Joe. I came with my boyfriend so we could float together (well in two separate rooms) We were greeted quietly by James, because other floats were taking place. You sign a waiver, take off your shoes and get a quick tour. They have 2 float rooms and 1 float tank. We were taken to one of the rooms and explained the whole process. They provide ear plugs, cue tips, contact solution, Vaseline, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a towel...probably a few other things, but I can't remember. You're suppose to put the Vaseline on small cuts. We were instructed to put the ear plugs in first, take a shower, don't dry off and then go into the tank. There's a light in the tank that you can push to go off once you're inside. We were told not to touch our face in the tank because it is extremely salty and would burn. Once I got in the tank and started to float I turned the light off. Took me awhile to relax, but it was crazy cause it feels like your spinning and moving a lot. I felt stingy for a lot of the float so it was hard for me to fully relax. I also touched my face by accident and my eyes burnt like hell. (They do give you a bottle with fresh water to squirt on your face in case this happens, thank god) I probably got a solid 40 mins of relaxing in (out of an hour and a half float) I would've been more comfortable if it was warmer as I was chilly. You float in silence, and to know when to exit the tank they begin to play music. If you fall asleep and don't hear the music they turn the jets on in the tank to wake you up. After you get out, you shower again. They have a room to relax in after with water, tea, color therapy glasses, books and journals to write in. I must say even tho I wasn't fully in the zone of vegging out while floating, I felt reallyyyy good after. Like after you get a massage. My whole body felt relaxed and calm and it got better as the night went on. I just felt peaceful, it was nice. I do see myself doing this again in the future as it is a good way to decompress. read more

Just had my 2nd float experience and was in the "Pod"...this was as total a float/isolation experience as you can get. Gotta say I found it to a bit deeper an experience than the pool. Ive been coming here for over a year and I've been more than satisfied with my experience. Floating or sensory deprivation is where you float in a shallow pool of water that's mixed with about a 1000 or so lbs of salt. So no matter how much you weigh, when you lie on the water you will float. It's the closest thing to zero gravity you'll experience on the ground! Then you have earplugs that filter out noise. Lastly theres a small light in the float room that you can turn off to make it pitch black. At this point, all 5 senses are as close to being deprived as possible. This is where the relaxation begins. Your mind no longer needs to worry about sensory input, it just.. exists. This naturally relaxes you, and if you know how to meditate, well it makes for an even deeper experience. Definitely a mind blowing experience that might be intimidating on the first float for some but will def get better as you come back. I really like how the facility is well-maintained, and a lot of effort is put into making your float experience gentle and peaceful (the staff are really friendly and talk in soft voices, toiletries nearly stashed in every room, fresh clean towels, etc). If you're looking to try out floating, this is definitely a great place to start. read more

My girlfriend bought me a gift card to here a while back and we finally got the chance to use them. Called and booked a time slot during the week at 7pm for the two float rooms, not the float tank. When we arrived we had to fill out a waiver and then we were taken on a short tour and explained the process of floating. The floats are an a hour and a half so you get a good amount of time to relax. They play music to signal you that your float is over and you can now get out to shower. I ended up falling asleep during the float and they turned the jets on in the tank to wake me up. Yup, I was relaxed. Afterwards you feel really great, very calm. Everything went smoothly and it was a great experience. I would definitely float again. read more

My first time here was about a month ago and it was so amazing, I just recently went for another float yesterday. I used the float tank which almost looks like a tanning bed and the first time I went, I went in for 90 minutes and yesterday I went in for 120 minutes, and wow. I can't explain what happened to me, but it felt like I was half out of it but still aware what was going on but I was just so relaxed. There's a timer in the room that shuts off the lights after laying in the salt bath for about 10 minutes and as soon as that happens I just doze off. After the time I feel so refreshed hours after. I highly recommend it to anyone who's having a bad day or just needs to relief some stress. read more

Amazing first experience. Let me first give you a little background on me, I have a bad back, neck, knees and ankle (sports injuries) and I was growing tired of nothing working. The second I walked in the front door, my mood immediately took a turn for the better. My friends who float regularly have been telling me to try it for months, and after a really stressful week I had the opportunity to get down there. First thing first, Hardy (one of the owners) is one of the most spiritual, connected people I've ever met, he has an aura to him that is calming and uplifting. Before floating he went over the appropriate etiquette and what to expect during the session. I was comfortable from the first second. I took my shower and entered the float room, shut the lights and drifted away. I thought I was only in there for 20-30 minutes, I was floating for 90. For the first time in a long time, I had no pain and my mind was truly clear. After the session, I went into the relaxation lounge where Hardy was waiting to offer me alkaline water or tea. We sat (with another lovely customer of his) for several hours after my float talking about our lives, spirituality and everything in between. I can't wait to go back and join on membership. LOVE THIS PLACE! I researched a lot about floating before finally taking the plunge. The staff there was super helpful in walking me through the process. The atmosphere was great, the waiting area really helps set the mood. My first float went better than I expected and I've got my second one booked already! The first one for me was really to get me mentally and physically familiar with floating. I can't wait to see what my future floats have in store for me. Everything was super clean. I love that they supply everything (towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs, contact solution, packets of vaseline, spray deodorant and hair ties!). There's an assortment of teas and mineral water in the post-float room. I had the pleasure of talking with the owner for a while afterwards. Take advantage of their membership - there's a great discount on the float packages! They don't pressure you into buying anything further but if floating is something you think would be beneficial to you, try it! There's no cancellation fees either. read more

This was my very first experience floating. I was intrigued when I heard about the concept. I've done a lot of meditating (Crystal healing bowls, Tibetan bowls, gongs, Reiki, etc. ) and have been involved with energy work for a better part of 30 years. The waiting area was very nice, and the person at the desk was super friendly and offered quite a bit of information about their services. To be totally honest with you, when I first arrived I used the restroom and it was kind of dirty. I thought to myself, 'if they don't keep the toilet clean, I wonder if the floating tanks are clean?' It wasn't the best first impression. My room had a wonderful shower, and I would have to say the floating experience was very relaxing and pleasant. I was so relaxed, in fact, I actually fell asleep. Unfortunately, shower room that I was in had metal grates holding ceiling tiles and they were pretty rusty. The rust actually dripped down the walls and stained them. A magic sponge would've gone a long way in that room. All in all, I might try this experience again. I would suggest to management that they pay a little bit closer attention to detail when keeping their establishment serviced and clean. Your bathroom and shower rooms truly should be absolutely spotless and a little bit more attention to detail in the upkeep of your rooms would go along way. I had heard about floating so when the opportunity came up I decided to take the hubby and just go for it. The hubby called Tom ahead of time and made all the arrangements. We get there and it is in a private residence so that it is by appointment only. We meet Tom and he is as nice and accommodating as could be. He answered all my questions and any reservations I had were instantly put to rest. Here is a little info just so you know ahead of time. You shower before and after and everything is included from towels(really soft) to shower gel shampoo and conditioner. There is only one tank but if you go with somebody there is a wait area so each of you can go one at a time Tom is really passionate and easy going at the same time and will make sure your experience is awesome. The float experience itself is wonderful. I enjoyed the darkness and quiet. It was very comforting and peaceful. I came out and I felt deeply relaxed right to my core. I feel refreshed and rebooted and gained a new perspective of a problem I was trying to solve. Definitely worth it! read more

My only wish was that the water was warmer and they had music. I know they say that silence is the ultimate float experience but I find the music that other float places offer helps me to relax and get more out of the experience for me personally. This was my second float. It was amazing. I truly got it this time my first time I was nervous and although I came out with the "wow" experience, this time was amazing. I woke with a migraine. Couldn't get rid of it. I floated about 6pm last night and came out no headache. Didn't even realize it was gone until Sam asked me how's my headache. I was able to relax so easily this time. My body and the water were one. I Am Looking forward to my next float The staff is great. Hardy is so personable and makes you feel at ease. Sam explained everything so I knew exactly what to do. A very pleasant staff and clean facility. Amazing first experience. Let me first give you a little background on me,I'm 26 and have RA -Rheumatoid Arthritis --bad and also motorcycle injuries to my right arm/elbow. After floating for 90 mins I WAS COMPLETELY RELAXED. For me to have even 50% less pain this would have been well worth it but by the time the music came on to let me know my time was up -- i had about 10% or less pain and my mind was untaxed. I then went into the relaxation lounge where Hardy (one of the owners), offered me alkaline water or tea. After trying a float place local to me I realized how amazing The Float Place is! I was treated with courtesy and respect. Since it was my first time he spent extra time with me to make sure I knew everything which this other place locally to me when I brought a friend for the first time were basically like here's your room after being told it was her first time. The size of the float room(not tank) is considerable especially for a 6' 1" person like myself. I can't think of a bad thing about this place! Can't wait to go back! read more

I went for my first float today and it was a great experience. Ian greeted me and gave me my tour then explained how everything works. He is truly a wonderful person. The float was very relaxing to say the least and afterwards felt completely rejuvenated. The post float room is the perfect way to wrap up your experience with your choice of tea's and sparkling water. They have books to read, a community journal if you would like to write about your experience or whatever you're feeling and art books to draw in if you're feeling creative. Even just to sit and read about other peoples experience is amazing. The only cons in my opinion is the water in the tank could be warmer and the water pressure in the shower could be better. I love that this place exists. I had heard of floating a few years back, but didn't know of any local place to do it. When I have a ton of things going on in my mind floating is one of the best ways to actually relax, release the tension, organize my thoughts, and press "reset". It's great way to get a deeper perspective in certain areas of your life, or to just think of nothing and relax. The facility is clean with nice private rooms. The overall ambiance is very mellow and nice. All of the staff are great and super helpful. I highly recommend this to anyone that has never tried it. It relaxes me more than any massage or even normal sleep ever does. read more

Went here on Saturday and floated for the first time ever. It was such a beautiful place, very calm, relaxing, clean and serene. Gina at the front desk was so sweet and calming, she explained everything and answered all my questions through my quick orientation. I felt comfortable right away. I used the tank (not the float room) as that was recommended to me as a first-timer. The whole experience was simple and relaxing. I even fell asleep inside the tank, which is hard for me to do anywhere except my own bed! I was so relaxed and in a meditated-state, which I really never experience, but I cleared my mind and the atmosphere allowed me to relax. Having no sound, no gravity, no light, just letting go and feeling my muscles relax - what an experience! I also have daily extreme pain in my upper back & neck from a herniated disc - but during my float I felt no pain at all, and afterwards the whole day I was pain-free. The whole rest of the day I felt very calm and positive. I would highly recommend this place - give it a shot - it's worth trying! :) read more

So let me stress that this review is really meant for the deer park location (the Patchogue location is fabulous and worth 5 stars). The deer park location has the rooms way too close to each other. I can hear various sounds while floating, such as other sessions ending, the filters and other noises. I couldn't concentrate because of all the outside stimuli. I ended up being so confused by another session ending that I got out of the bath 20 minutes before I was suppose to. Though I was new to this location, i did not get any introduction to where things are located and was just brought to my room. Overall, this particular location and the people there were not very helpful. At least it was clean! read more

If you are looking to relax and feel reborn you need to try floating! When we got there we were originally a bit sketchy about what floating was and if was worth it. The owner explained everything out perfectly. He was one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable people I've met. He was so personable that we immediately felt comfortable and were ready to float. I can't describe what floating is in words because it is such an amazing experience that I can only urge you to try it for yourself..you deserve it! The entire set up is brand spanking new and awesome looking. You go into the float tank room (its waterproof so you don't have to worry about getting anything wet) There is a shower that you use before and after your float. The music is serene -- they play music as soon as your float begins and they make it a little louder to let you know your float is over at the end. This is much better than someone knocking on the door! After the music comes on and your float is over you should wait about 2 minutes to get out of the tank. This is a local business so you should always support local businesses!! 1 Float/60 mins- $65. 1 float f/90 mins-$90. You can become a member and get a free float. New comers get a buy 1 get 1 float for $99(which is what I bought since I will DEFINITELY be going back!) He takes credit cards/has gift cards/has a groupon thing going. Also, he sells all organic health type of things(coconut oil, 180, organic coffee, hemp stuff, and a few vitamins.) that I looked at while my boyfriend was floating. The staff and facility were very nice, from the relaxing Oceanview on the TV to the mood lighting in the waiting room. I had been expecting a sensory deprivation pod, which they do have one but my friend and I each used a tank room which is much more open and less claustrophobic. After a quick introduction to the procedures which are framed on the wall in the room I was on my own to float. And I'm glad that they gently bring you out with soft music I was afraid it would be jarring but it was all very chill. And they don't rush you out of the rooms, which I'm told is sometimes what happens at other places, in general pretty good time. read more

Like a lot of people, I was very intrigued what "floating" was all about. Being a little apprehensive (anxietal, claustrophobic) about actually doing it, I put off making an appt for months. Once I finally made my appt on line, the staff contacted me by email and phoned me beforehand. They are very friendly and helpful in answering questions you may have. As soon as I got into the water, I took a couple of deep breaths and once I realized I was floating, this involuntary, strong smile come across my face and I was able to allow myself to drift away shortly after. I must've been in this state for what felt like 45 minutes. At that moment, I turned on the light to get some perspective, but immediately turned it back off & went right back into this meditative state. At no point during the session was I worried about being in an enclosed box, worry about the list of things I needed to do, work... it was pure bliss. Being in the float room for 90 minutes, there was many personal thoughts and visuals I experienced and they were all calming. I talked about this experience for days that followed that Im sure I was becoming annoying to some, but 3 weeks later, I have another appointment. Excited! read more

I have been to the float place twice for myself, and I loved it so much I brought my boyfriend in to try it! I was a first time floater, and didn't really know what to expect. Tom (the owner) talked me through the whole process beforehand and gave me tips and instructions on how to get the best experience. The owner was so passionate about floating and you could tell the float place was a labor of love for him. He is also very big on cleanliness! The place was spotless and very well kept. Once you are done with your float, the owner is eager to find out how the experience was for you. He sits down with you in the waiting room and chats for a bit over a cup of tea or a bottle of water. I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, relaxing experience. There really is nothing like it. So after hearing about floating for quite some time from several close friends I finally was able to get inside of the tub, and by getting inside I was able to get outside of my own mind and body. My first float was quite the experience, and I will now be a regular. The service, and walk through prior to my float relaxed any tension I might have had. The staff does a great job of making you feel right at home :) I highly recommend floating to any and everyone. It doesn't matter what walk of life you're from I feel as if it can be beneficial to everyone. It allows you to focus, lose focus, and then regain that focus on what really matters, which will be different depending on who you are. Just like anything else in life, floating is a practice and the more you float the deeper you'll be able to dive. However with just one float I felt amazing benefits and a natural mental high that recharged me.
