We recently had water damage in our home when the washing machine decided to overflow and put a…read moresignificant amount of water on the laundry room and kitchen floors.  The water ran through into the basement damaging the ceiling and walls in our finished basement, as well as the carpeting on the floor.  We immediately called ServPro, who quickly came to our rescue, helping us move things out of the way to minimize damage and to begin the initial clean-up of the water. This was followed by one of their expert teams coming in and cleaning up the mess, removing the ruined kitchen and laundry room floors, as well as part of the basement ceiling and walls, and drying the entire place out. We could not have been more pleased with the workmanship and the professionalism of the team.  They were courteous and thoughtful and worked quickly, safely and took great care with our belongings.  They really appreciated what we were going through and were incredibly helpful throughout the process.  The office personnel, especially Tia, were so incredibly helpful as well, working to get estimates and paperwork together and even contacting our insurance company for us to make sure everything was taken care of. We are so grateful ServPro was there, we have no idea how we would have gotten through this without them.  Not only would I recommend them to others, I do routinely, as they are simply fantastic.

They were extremely courteous to my wife, my kids and me. Great guys. Would use that team any day for water restoration. That interaction was the shortest part of the job, hence the low rating. The restoration and office experience is an entire different story... Before I go into the bad, I will say everyone who entered my home was kind and respectful. Now the not so good: -Promises go unfulfilled. -told that we would finish in a week. It took almost 3 weeks -a team was supposed to show up on a daily basis by 8:30am. They showed up around 9:30/10:00am. Sometimes a few people, other times 1 person. One of the workers said he was taking vacation soon and the manager told us that person had to leave on a family emergency out of country. In my experience, emergencies are usually a "get up and go" type of instance vs something planned. -work was left unfinished and when I called the office they said "the walkthrough was completed" -We also took a railing down after a portion of the wall was painted (they still had to put on more coats of paint). They chose not to paint the area where the railing meets the wall. They said "oh, I thought you were putting this back up." We were told they would return to fix. Got a call that day asking to have it moved back until the following Tuesday... never showed, never called, nothing. I guess it was my fault since I went ahead and paid before it was fixed. - Attention to detail -many things were considered "done" and we had to point out holes that were not filled before painting, quarter round molding not nearly flush, holes in grout, etc. This would not have been fixed unless we pointed it out. For painting, these guys don't even tape. sloppy job on a number of corners. -Payment/Office interaction. - gave an upfront payment with a credit card. No issues, no fees - the day the job was finished, we were told if we wanted to pay with credit card again, we would have a 3.5% fee. No notification of this until the day of. Nothing written on payment terms in the contract, just a "by the way, this is happening now".. also, if they had finished on time, this would not have been a problem because this new policy was implemented after the fact. Talked to Steven about it who was very unprofessional. I told him about the delay being the issue and if they had finished on time, I would have still been able to pay. He even tried to blame me fore the delay. "Oh, you requested more work" (the promise of when they would finish occurred after the work was requested). Then he said they were waiting on the insurance adjuster to approve the additional work. Funny, the insurance adjuster called me asking where the update was from ServPro as she wanted to make sure this was taken care of quickly (I used servpro because they are a preferred vendor of the insurance I use so communication would be direct. He also said "we were waiting on your sliding glass to be delivered" (something they forgot to remove on their template contract from another customer...we had no sliding glass being done). Garrison at least had apathy, was apologetic and said they are working on how to inform people properly. Might not seem like a big deal but I don't like providing my bank account number. It's much more of a pain to fix than a credit card if it is used inappropriately. I told them I would take my time paying and Steven gave me more grief. I said how do they expect me to pay with a check if the insurance company has not even paid me. Turns out they didn't even tell the insurance company they had finished so the funds could be released! Just adding in, seems like I got a response sayiNg I should call about questions I have. I actually voiced all that was wrong. Kind of funny I keep finding more that is wrong. For instance, in the middle of a kitchen tile there is a piece of plastic or glue sticking out of the grout and spots that weren't even painted. Kind of funny that a walk through the house with my pregnant wife who just wanted the job done is a "final sign off" that the work is completed.

Their crew removed the walls as well as all insulations behind the walls, they cleaned everything in the common area and they did a truly excellent job. They were super-efficient, hardworking, experienced professionals; they completed the work in one day and left my condo very clean and spotless as it was before they came. I am very impressed with the company, especially with Will, who is very responsive, reliable, courteous and it is a great pleasure to work with. Lemony Snicket A Series of Unfortunate Events...that pretty much describes us, and RestorTech is…read moreour MIRACLE, go-to fixer every time we have an event. I don't mean to brag ...but, we're sort of frequent flyers there. We were introduced to John Pletcher, RestorTech's owner, and his crew in July 2011, after our house was struck by lightning and caught fire. We had a lot of structural damage but lost surprisingly little of our personal belongings and household furnishings. RestorTech came out and packed up everything in our house. The pack-out and moving process took about a week and a half. It happened during an awful heat wave with daytime temperatures exceeding 100 each day. The entire crew worked (and sweated) their butts off. All of our belongings were professionally packed, cleaned up/restored and held in storage until a little over a year later, when our home repairs were completed. When it was time to move back into our home, John made sure to send the same crew out to move us back in. Our move-in was more comfortable for the crew because we had working air conditioning unlike during the pack-out. It was wonderful to see them again and it kind of felt somewhat like going to a reunion and seeing friends you haven't seen in a long time. All of our belongings and "stuff" were returned in great condition and several things came back in better condition than when they left. For example, I have a family heirloom desk that belonged to my mom. One of the legs was broken and I just never got around it having it fixed but it was fixed when RestorTech returned it to us. The second and third encounters with RestorTech were for water damage from a burst pipe. They got out here so fast and did such a great job so that only the padding under the carpet was ruined. They were able to extract the water out of the carpet and once it fully dried we just had to replace the section of padding that had been ruined. The cost of those two water encounters was very reasonable which made us happy because we paid out of pocket for those instead of making an insurance claim. There were one or two more minor events where they came to our rescue as well. Throughout all of our history with RestorTech we've worked closely with Molly. She and I, well, we're practically BFF's at this point. Okay, I may have exaggerated that slightly, but seriously, Molly is amazing and we adore her. RestorTech is a great company led by a great man and you can't go wrong in picking them to help you when those traumatic, unfortunate events up-end your life.

They did not restore the basement to the pre-loss condition leaving an exposed fuse box and part of the floor torn up following abatement. They ghosted me about completing the work until they needed to get a certificate of satisfaction (what a joke) to be paid by Travelers. I had my own contractor do the work ServiceMaster NCR did not complete because I wanted to sell the rental. I had used ServiceMaster solely because Travelers had used them for the water abatement and I wanted to avoid any disputes as to coverage and reimbursement. Their project manager, Matt Kenney, failed to complete the rebuild and completely ignored me until it was time to get paid from Travelers. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS; he is incompetent and does a lousy job. They threatened to place a mechanics lien on the house while I was trying to sell if I didn't sign the certificate of satisfaction. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS; THEY ARE BAD NEWS. I agree with Chante B.'s and Kelly H.'s reviews of these guys. I would note that they have not had a good review since 2020 (with the exception of Joel B. whose review is extremely vague which makes me question if Joel B. works for or is affiliated with ServiceMaster; dropping shout outs to co-workers?).

The information they provided during the original consultation was that everything could easily be dried out. which in reality it could be, however they tried like heck to get the insurance company to remodel the entire kitchen. Basically saying that even if the kitchen does not need replacing, the insurance company is too stupid to know, so I might as well commit insurance fraud!! When a contractor tells you to commit fraud because it is undetectable, ask yourself, are they that desperate for work? Also, it appears most of their old "5 start" rating was fake - Yelp removed all of the reviews and put them in the "unrecommended reviews" section. I wish I had not seen a 5 star rating and called them... Fortunately it looks like Yelp fixed the issue and the current rating you see is more valid.

Once it was dry, they came back to replace/repair all the damage. The staff of orange flood was amazing! They handled everything promptly, and the repair work was done professionally! We thought maybe he'd have to open up our floor, and expected this to potentially run us a lot of money. He was able to diagnose that we didn't have any major issues, with minimal disturbance to the floor, within 15 minutes of being here. He had obvious knowledge of the era of home that our house was and the nature of how they built it in order to determine that the floor would be fine. The next day she phoned back to inquire whether the wall is a load-bearing wall (not something that the average homeowner would know). Further on the scheduled appointment day, within the appointment window their technician pro called and indicated we could do a 'virtual' appointment. I was outdone. When I objected and expressed that the scheduler let me know that the company rep would be 'ARRIVING' between 12- 1pm - not calling for a virtual appointment, he said he would reach out ' and see if someone else was available to assist me" that day. A few minutes later, I received not a call but instead an email inviting me to take their next available schedule date 3 or 4 days later. This hinted me to what their service and fulfillment of work would be like. VERY NEGATIVE Experience! I would NOT recommend this business.
