We didn't even know what type of contractor to hire as we weren't sure if it was a foundational problem, our washing machine, etc. After numerous talks with contractors, we were told it was a good idea to hire a mold specialist and be sure that didn't become an issue. Working with SM NCR was amazing. Greg came out the day after I called. He did a very thorough mold test and even gave me some insight into where the water was coming from. Upon learning that the contractor couldn't start work for a couple of weeks, he gave us some ideas how to direct the water away from our home. A big hurricane was about to hit our area and he was afraid more water was going to dump into our basement. This type of advice wasn't Greg's job-but he was so kind to offer his thoughts as I had no idea what to do. We not only were able to temporarily direct the water away from our home (thanks to Greg), we did in fact have a mold issue. Greg had the team set up shop right away and begin the process. The team was incredibly kind, considerate and thorough. After a couple of days running the machines, Greg came back out to test the walls again. I will recommend SM NCR to all of my neighbors, friends and colleagues. This family run business is such a pleasure to work with and is by far the most qualified mold remediation company in the area.

They did not restore the basement to the pre-loss condition leaving an exposed fuse box and part of the floor torn up following abatement. They ghosted me about completing the work until they needed to get a certificate of satisfaction (what a joke) to be paid by Travelers. I had my own contractor do the work ServiceMaster NCR did not complete because I wanted to sell the rental. I had used ServiceMaster solely because Travelers had used them for the water abatement and I wanted to avoid any disputes as to coverage and reimbursement. Their project manager, Matt Kenney, failed to complete the rebuild and completely ignored me until it was time to get paid from Travelers. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS; he is incompetent and does a lousy job. They threatened to place a mechanics lien on the house while I was trying to sell if I didn't sign the certificate of satisfaction. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS; THEY ARE BAD NEWS. I agree with Chante B.'s and Kelly H.'s reviews of these guys. I would note that they have not had a good review since 2020 (with the exception of Joel B. whose review is extremely vague which makes me question if Joel B. works for or is affiliated with ServiceMaster; dropping shout outs to co-workers?).

When a contractor tells you to commit fraud because it is undetectable, ask yourself, are they that desperate for work? Also, it appears most of their old "5 start" rating was fake - Yelp removed all of the reviews and put them in the "unrecommended reviews" section. I wish I had not seen a 5 star rating and called them... Fortunately it looks like Yelp fixed the issue and the current rating you see is more valid.

Once it was dry, they came back to replace/repair all the damage. The staff of orange flood was amazing! They handled everything promptly, and the repair work was done professionally! I don't mean to brag ...but, we're sort of frequent flyers there. We were introduced to John Pletcher, RestorTech's owner, and his crew in July 2011, after our house was struck by lightning and caught fire. We had a lot of structural damage but lost surprisingly little of our personal belongings and household furnishings. RestorTech came out and packed up everything in our house. The pack-out and moving process took about a week and a half. It happened during an awful heat wave with daytime temperatures exceeding 100 each day. The entire crew worked (and sweated) their butts off. All of our belongings were professionally packed, cleaned up/restored and held in storage until a little over a year later, when our home repairs were completed. When it was time to move back into our home, John made sure to send the same crew out to move us back in. Our move-in was more comfortable for the crew because we had working air conditioning unlike during the pack-out. It was wonderful to see them again and it kind of felt somewhat like going to a reunion and seeing friends you haven't seen in a long time. All of our belongings and "stuff" were returned in great condition and several things came back in better condition than when they left. For example, I have a family heirloom desk that belonged to my mom. One of the legs was broken and I just never got around it having it fixed but it was fixed when RestorTech returned it to us. The second and third encounters with RestorTech were for water damage from a burst pipe. They got out here so fast and did such a great job so that only the padding under the carpet was ruined. They were able to extract the water out of the carpet and once it fully dried we just had to replace the section of padding that had been ruined. The cost of those two water encounters was very reasonable which made us happy because we paid out of pocket for those instead of making an insurance claim. There were one or two more minor events where they came to our rescue as well. Throughout all of our history with RestorTech we've worked closely with Molly. She and I, well, we're practically BFF's at this point. Okay, I may have exaggerated that slightly, but seriously, Molly is amazing and we adore her. RestorTech is a great company led by a great man and you can't go wrong in picking them to help you when those traumatic, unfortunate events up-end your life.

They placed a dehumidifier and seven large blowers which immediately started reducing remaining pockets of water and completely dried the affected materials within a few days. After the scheduled five days, very little water was being removed from the air and the equipment was removed as scheduled. The crew was courteous, clean, efficient and professional throughout the process. If you want it done fast and right, I highly recommend them.

We live in a condo and the property management company uses Servpro as one of their main…read morecontractors so, in a way, we were, unfortunately, forced to work with Servpro. Because of this, we believe Servpro was being completely bias towards us (they even refused to provide us with a detailed report of the incidents; we were told it had to be approved by the Property Manager, which never was). The owner has a video out there talking about empathy and how he looks for this quality in the people he hires. Well, let me tell you, in our opinion, we did not see nor felt any empathy (and/or sympathy) from anyone at Servpro at all (felt more like a factory line... get in and get out). Their remediation department (one guy in particular) was a complete disappointment. This guy told us things that were not true and his whole demeanor was one of... "I know it all!" He even had his team put holes in our walls and when we complained, his response was, "Don't worry, the insurance will cover that!" We received a quote from Servpro to replace our wood floor, which included a $1,400.00 charge to remove & return appliances and a plumber charge since a "professional (according to them)" had to do it. So we brought this up and immediately got push back. We were told at first (verbally) that those charges were there because of the "estimating software" they use. Then, their own subcontractor (either by mistake or pure honesty) told us they would be the ones moving the appliances; yet, Servpro still wanted to charge the $1,400.00. This was an insurance claim for us, so we sent the flooring quote to our insurance carrier and they approved it. We were days away from scheduling the work, when we found out Servpro had quoted the wrong floor (prefinished vs. engineered)... Servpro ended up re-quoting the correct floor and we sent it again over to our insurance (they refused it so we had to find another contractor). We ended up finding another contractor who did it for cheaper than Servpro (the crazy thing here is Servpro not only wanted the amount of the quote, but also wanted a carpet credit that WE were entitled to receive from the management company... I brought it up to Servpro and they could not give me a definite answer as to why they wanted that money also; sounds like a total money grab to us). The PM who managed the work for us provided a very mediocre service. From her, "I cannot schedule the work yet, because it is not much to do!" to not responding to calls and saying, "I did not receive a call from you!" to texts saying, "I am on the road/I am at a job site!" So, basically, if she did not initiate a phone call, she would not answer the phone when we called. I also asked her for some additional quotes for cleaning and duct cleaning and her response was, "well, it would be best if you get quotes from somewhere else because they will too expensive with us because of our "estimating software!" Servpro knew the urgency we had with getting our condo back to normal (we went 6 months with no floor in our unit); yet, Servpro kept delaying the process, including waiting until 5pm to send emails to us, which felt was being done on purpose. Lastly, I will give credit to the owner because I reached out and, to my surprise, he responded... he did send his Director of Operations to do damage control, but by then.. it was too late.
