After growing up and living in New Jersey for 45 years, there was never any shortage of great bagel shops. The western states are a wasteland when it comes to good bagels. Frankie's fills that niche. The staff are super friendly and there is always a good selection of bagels, just like the Jersey Shore. Salt bagels could use more salt (the big chunks like in NY & NY). I've been here a couple times and If I lived closer, it would be my go to breakfast spot. Will definitely go back. read more

Visiting from out of town for my wedding and we are staying with friends in Eureka. Driving in: watch for signs, you can miss it! Once you make the right turn in it opens up into a big parking and you will see more signs (love it) Inside: very large sitting area inside. Kind of a mini art gallery as well. They have many different artists up on the walls. It was nice to take a walk around and check out local artists while I waited. Menu: Nice selection of bagels and sandwiches, but they also have a "build your own" option. They also have a selection of donuts, juice and coffee/espresso drinks. Ordered: The San Franciscan This was sooo good! They recommeneddd the Garlic Salt bagel and I liked the added taste from the salt that complimented the whole sandwich. I added bacon to mine (custom) and it was such a delicious breakfast. I had ordered 3 of these, but mine was a bit special. Plain bagel w cream cheese I love a good bagel in the morning and this place was shockingly good, better than most I have been to in my travels. Definitely a place to try! Post wedding: I really want to try the bagel dogs! Unfortunately I learned the hard way that they are not open mon-wed because I wanted to go back after the wedding and it was closed. read more

Really big location inside. The music and decorations were nice. They had a display of all their pastries and such. I tried a sesame bagel that's was awesome and a crème brûlée donut which was unfortunately pretty bland. Still would try again but get something different read more

Bagel is the texture of sandwich bread, not bagel (effectively an everything Kaiser roll). Bagel was slightly warmed, not toasted. Vegan cream cheese was applied to a single side making it so you can't split the bagel and have to eat it as a sandwich. It's way better than other bagel places. Location is a bit out of the way, but the bagels are worth it! McKay bagel was bomb. Pastries are amazing. Expect about $20+ if you're gonna get bagels and coffee drinks. Not sure how busy it is for breakfast, I came at lunch time. read more

This business has great potential but is poorly run. I have been in three times and two of those times were less than satisfactory. For example I ordered a toasted bagel and waited 20 minutes for it. It was not busy and when asked why my bagel hadn't come I was told that the preparer likes to do several orders at once and then bring them all forward at the same time. The next time I came in all 3 coffee pots had been allowed to run out. I think they need an onsite manager read more

The new ownership of Frankie's has led to some really positive developments! I love the new big space (though a water station would be great), expanded hours, and lots of fun new options for bagel toppings. Their vegan donuts are fantastic! The bagels do seem smaller and their vegan cream cheese is now made from coconut which is both less healthy (saturated fat) and kinda unappealing when heated (turns clear and disappears) than non-coconut options. I don't know what kind of vegan cream cheese Frankie used before but I believe it was different. Now I order other toppings like hummus or just get a donut. read more

First time at Frankie's and it was pretty good. I ordered a couple pastries from the case (Nutella twist and Oreo fritter). Both are okay. Oreo fritter has good flavor but was hard. It would probably be soft and a better experience if we got it fresh, but I got there closer to their closing time. The Nutella twist was just okay. It was a bit dry. I was hoping it would be buttery or oozing. Now for the bagels, I got a pizza bagel on a garlic bagel for my kid and it was really good. My kid liked it. My husband got a utopia sandwich on plain. He liked his sandwich but didn't think it was worth the price. Tasty but probably won't get it again. I got a the ny bagel (lox, cream cheese, red onion, and capers on an everything bagel. It was alright. The bagel was a little tough but the toppings were good. It's what I would expect from a ny lox bagel sandwich. Overall the food was decent. The inside was spacious but the tables were a bit close together and our table was dirty, so were the few others that were open. One worker offered us a bag of bagels to take home. Bagels are good, service is GREAT but as prices have gone up quality has suffered a little bit. Example bagel chips were 5-6 bucks a year ago and now they're pushing 9 dollars a bag. I want to like this place. The bagels are dense, and the doughnuts are made from the same dough as the bagels, which is an unusual texture. But I like that they have vegan options. However there is a huge problem between front and back of house. A toasted bagel with cream cheese order is sent to the back kitchen and it took 20 minutes for the order!!! For 1 bagel. And the prices are sooo expensive it's kinda laughable. Extra charge to toast, a charge for mustard, a separate charge for everything! read more
