Have been into the Lakeland, Orlando and Brandon locations and the Lakeland location by far has the most helpful employees. Made two one hour appointments weeks apart with the designer/consultant and it is not worth your time these people are not anymore knowledgeable then the people working on the floor. The floor sales staff have always taken the time to answer questions and show me were items are located. The one thing they need to change is charging for samples of floor tile. Of all the stores I got samples from Floor & Decor is the only one who charges. I did suggest to a cashier that the samples be free since I could them pass them along to friends looking for tile. Her reply was "people would keep coming in to get samples to do their whole floor in". Since I returned the samples to Floor & Decor to get a refund. I didn't have them in the samples I gave to a neighbor who was also looking for floor tile she got the samples from the other three stores. read more

This is a vast flooring store with a great showroom. It's a great place to start (and perhaps finish) your new flooring search. There were many helpful sales associates throughout the store, all seemingly very knowledgeable about products. I liked that they placed like items near each other--even priced low to high and that they explained the differences in grades of items. My only concern is they use "Angie's List" for installers rather than having a set of installers. Having had bad installer experiences, it may drive me to a "complete to install" store rather than just a supply warehouse. *On a subsequent visit on the weekend, I found very little help and no one who could even provide me with a simple grout color chart. It appears that personal attention is increased if one shops weekdays and early. read more

I picked up an order today (10/24/15) around noon/1pm and it couldn't have gone smoother! When it comes to home remodeling and improvements I don't usually have the best luck (something always goes wrong) but the customer service at this Floor & Decor location really made the process of ordering/picking up materials an easy one. They were very accommodating, understanding, knowledgable and friendly. A special thanks to Jeremy in the wood department for helping me place my order, Mr. Vandervort (please excuse me if the spelling is wrong!), and the lady with the short blonde hair in the Pro Pickup department (I think she was the manager? Huge selection. We had many employees offer us help. Once someone started helping us they stuck with us to the end. Even pushed our cart to the register. I figured they must work on commission because I was getting such attention and thorough customer service. On a return visit I asked and ....to my surprise they do not work on commission. This store is a 3D life sized catalog that you can actually walk through. LOL So old school! We love this place. While we may not have used Floor & Decor for all our tile, stone and flooring needs... wait a minute, we did use them for everything in our remodeled kitchen and new flooring needs. I may have bought the backsplash travertine, the custom tile art, and most of the flooring elsewhere, but Floor & Decor's presence is in every aspect be it the grout, mastic, stone moldings accent tiles and veneer stone for the media room wall, we used their products just about everywhere. If you want a broad selection on display and helpful staff, you won't go wrong with Floor & Decor. Their prices are righteous too. So before you spend a dime, stroll through your nearest Floor & Decor and take some pics home as well as a few samples in your color range. Do your homework and you will be glad you did. Lakeland is a bit far from where we are located but we thought we would try it after experiencing the Orlando location. We have purchased many items at F&D in the Chicago area. We know what we want before we go into the store, grab, pay and go. This time at the big box store it was different. We were purchasing for our home and it is located here in Florida. Florida is new territory for us and we needed an education on how the materials work here in this climate. We walked in with some knowledge of what we thought would be good for our home and our budget. Budget put a BIG cramp in our shopping experience. We needed help; my husband chose Tod. He listened to us, then asked us questions. Actually, Tod asked us many questions before he answered ours. He proceeded to tell us about the flooring about the process of installation, the order process, the delivery process, etc. He also told us about the different items what we needed to look for when purchasing the other items that were needed for the job. Tod did not leave us when we were finished in the flooring department. He took us to the tile department. When I realized I miscalculated the cost of the tile I wanted he directed us to what was in our budget. We had already purchased many of the items he suggested for other projects and was not happy with the choices before us. Tod knew what we were looking for and went through row after row trying to find what we could afford. As he was doing this, he was shooting questions at the those who worked in that department so that I could leave with what I wanted. You could have scraped my jaw off the floor. Tod is a remarkable employee, he knows how to listen to people, ask questions, give answer's, while treating us with respect. Doing a remodel of any size is a big hit to one's pocket. It is important to treat every customer with respect no matter how much they are spending. I think that Tod's knowledge of all the products is a direct result of Good Management. Good management can produce quality employees and great customer service. We want to know when we walk through those doors that we will be informed, walk out with a quality product and receive respect from ALL employees. These folks are terrific, they gave professional help in the selection process, guided us through some of the special issues surrounding our selection - Travertine is a unique, natural material and needs some special attention/prep/maintenance. I don't know if you have ever renovated a hose before but it can be stressful to say the least. After going to all the big box home improvement stores looking for tile and wood flooring, not finding anything we liked, we found Floor and Decor. All the other places, including Flooring specific stores, we found it was all pretty much the same inventory and just not what we wanted. The Tile installer we use told us of Floor and Decor so we went expecting the same ole thing we have already found and was going to have to settle. We found a wide and much better selection of every floor type imaginable to choose from. The price was good and the staff was over the top helpful. This store is the worst. They sold my flooring right out from under me. I was furious that I was told That there was plenty of flooring and they would hold 11 boxed for me. When I returned the next day after driving and hour to get there. Someone had called and they took my flooring to fill that order. They were not there yet and I was. So they took my flooring to fill his order and I was shit out of luck. The manager Jeremy was a complete ass. I recently purchased laminate flooring, when it was installed I noticed blemishes in the finish. When I contacted Floor and Decor with my concerns about the flooring I was greeted with a concerned manager. I really appreciated the considerate, conscientious handling of everything. As it turned out the problem was with the manufacturing process. I was very impressed with Floor and Decor and their manufacturer for taking responsibility for their product and promptly replacing it. I will definitely buy products for my home in the future from them. read more

Had the best experience at this location. As me and my wife was looking around we was approached by a young lady named Liz. As my wife was talking to her I wondered off looking around. Another employer must of seen who I was with and went to find my wife to tell her that she thinks I was lost looking around for her lol. She didn't have to do that but she went above and beyond to join me and my wife back up even though I was trying to escape lol. I wasn't lost, just amazed at all the options that I had to choose from, I mean for my wife to make the decision on. I had a list from my contractor that I needed to get and Liz went above and beyond walking around with me for over a hour at closing time to make sure I had everything that I needed and answered all the questions I had that my contractor had written down. Girl knew her stuff for sure. When it was time to load up the stuff there was no questions about wanting to know if I needed help loading the stuff, they did it with no questions asked.
