When we started making plans for replacing our kitchen floor we asked our son and daughter-in-law who had done a stunning, extensive remodel of their kitchen and bath where they found their supplies. Without hesitation they said they got the majority of it at Floor & Decor in Reno. They said hands down that they had the best sellection and prices of any of the places they went to, including a few of the 'big box' stores. We decided to take the drive to check it out in hopes we'd find something that would work and also fit comfortably in our budget. On our first trip we met an associate named Conan who took the time to show us all of the choices within our budget. Not being able to decide on the spot, we took home several samples at a time to see how well they worked until we found the just the one we wanted. Once we made our decision, he even helped us find the coordinating trim pieces and we were set to go. A wonderful young lady associate helped load all 19+ boxes in our van! {Sorry, I didn't catch her name.} We began the installation process and found we were in need of a few more transition strips. so we returned to the store. This is when we met Mike Stipech who is the wood department manager. He asked what flooring we had installed and then saw that the strips we were using. He said although they matched by color, had we noticed that there was a gap between the strip and the floor. We told him although we did notice the slight gap between the floor and trim, we just figured that was how it was supposed to be. He then told us they really weren't the correct ones for the actual thickness of our laminate planks and was sure there was a better solution. He went online, researched and found the correct ones and said they were available by special order. Mike proceeded to not only order the ones we needed, but was able to give us credit for the wrong ones. We thought our floor looked great before, but were really pleased to see what a difference the correct ones made! Thanks to him, our kitchen, dining, and laundry rooms all look fantastic! Having such a positive experience with the kitchen floor, we returned to the store for our next project. This time we needed info on floor tiles for our family room. Again we turned to Mike for help and even though this was not his department, we were glad to hear he was so willing to help us. After asking a few questions as to what look we were going for and price range, he showed us several rows of choices and even carried samples from one row to the next for us to compare colors and textures side by side. Once we found exactly the ones we wanted, he took us to find the all of the adhesive materials and tools we'd need to complete the job. He even explained the correct way to apply the adhesive and all about the wait time for them to set properly. I guess seeing as how my husband and I are senior citizens, he insisted on helping load all of that in our van after we checked out. To any folks out there reading this or any the of the other reviews posted, please note that although there seem to have been a customer or two that seemed to have had a less than ideal experiences at this store, I'm sorry to hear that. Based on our experience, I can't imagine that happening. Every single person that works at this store, whether it was the young ladies at the checkout stands, or any of the guys walking around, we have found them all to be very polite, professional and very helpful! When we needed help or had questions finding what we were looking for, all we had to do was ask and if that person didn't know the answer, they found the person that did! We have done a lot of business at the two most popular 'big box' stores and occasionally could find someone to help, but many other times not. That's going to happen, especially when dealing with the bigger stores. We whole hearted recommend that you take the time to check it out this Floor and Decor for yourself. We always check the 2 box stores in Reno for products and prices. Then we go to floor and decor. They have the best and biggest selection. The staff are far superior in knowledge than the supposed box stores claim. Better prices too. Very easy place to do business and no problems with returns. Thank you! ********* The people at Floor & Decor are very helpful when it comes to tile. The tile we bought and installed is beautiful and the quality was right for the price. HOWEVER, I bought their "luxury vinyl flooring" at the advice of an associate there because it would be the most scratch resistant, waterproof, and in general durable. I will say it is waterproof, but scratch resistant not in the slightest. I have laminate so I know how to take care of it. The laminate scratches VERY easily and my floor is less than a month old and has noticeable scratches all over it and and I am VERY disappointed. I would not suggest the NuCore product to anyone. I called the store and told them this and was basically told that there was nothing they can do. So the further I dug into NuCore I found it is exclusive to Floor & Decor....so they do not back their own exclusives. VERY disappointing. Do not go anywhere else for flooring;I have never seen better pricing and selection for flooring anywhere in town. To top it off, the employees and management team are very helpful and accomodating. This place raises the bar, and with that said, it will force the other flooring stores to lower their prices to keep up with the competition. More competition will favor the consumer. I couldn't be happier! We went in to Floor and Decor after getting a quote for back splash at a big box store that was ridiculous and thinking that all stores were the same. Boy, were we wrong! Zack helped us with more information than we had experienced so far. He was willing to spend as much time with us as needed. We called for a quote for installation. When they came out I couldn't believe how simple it was and how nice they were. Then we went in for a design appointment with Cherie to get the tiles, grout, and the rest of our shopping needs and she made it so easy. The whole thing was so much easier than we had expected and half the price of what we had been quoted previously. I will recommend Floor and Decor to everyone! read more

Unlike some discount home warehouses, their seems to be a an associate available for every customer. In other stores an associate avoids eye contact and disappears if you do look at them. No one working on commission is hovering over you either. This is a good place to do business with and you are treated like a customer who they care about. The associate's let us know as well as signs where the product comes from--this is helpful if you care about your family's health--think about it. read more

I'm very displeased with the customer service received. They sold us wood flooring that is not suitable for our climate. When we called to see what options we had to get it fixed, they were unwilling to help and basically said we were out of luck. I would highly recommend NOT purchasing any wood flooring from this company. read more

Purchased bamboo wood floors from here and they shrank. The manufacturer came out and said the product was inappropriate for our market and should never have been sold to us. This store just took the position....too bad, we should have somehow known. Be very careful if you buy from this place, they don't stand behind what they sell and will clearly sell you anything....even wood that is not suited for dry climates. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this business! Last Saturday I picked up some vinyl plank flooring and the product was not wrapped as well as it should have been. I pulled out of the parking lot into a major intersection and half of the flooring boxes fell out,tore open and many of the planks fell into the street. The entire intersection was littered with plank flooring! While at the intersection, trying to decide what to do first, a young man approached me (Julian) who advised he was a Floor and Decor warehouse employee on his way to work when he witnessed my calamity. He calmed me down, helped pick up the flooring that was scattered in the intersection, and promised me that he would advise his manager of what happened as soon as he got to work. When the planks were all back in my truck, I called the store manager who informed they had already been apprised of my situation by Julian and instructed me to bring the damaged planks back. When I brought the damaged planks back, it was discovered that there were none left in stock. The manager on shift in flooring (I don't remember her name but she was wonderful) located and reordered the damaged floor and said it would be here in a week. I was treated really well and think Julian should be promoted to Shift Manager and the Shift Manager who helped me should be promoted too! Thanks to everyone at Floor and Decor!!! read more

My husband and I were looking to replace some flooring in our home We had no knowledge of the differences in types of wood flooring from laminate to hardwood.We also looked at a great selection of tile in case we decided against the wood floors. Our salesperson, Shay spent a great deal of time educating us and helping us decide what would be best for our home. The selection of materials was excellent as well as the prices. They also provided a list of installers who specialized in each type of flooring. Every other person in the store was most helpful and courteous. We haven't totally decided which flooring we want, but we have definitely decided that whatever we buy will be from this store. read more

Great Experience!! Purchased superior grade laminate flooring for our living room and could'nt be happier! Staff was extremely helpful with helping us choose the right stuff with so many options to choose from. We bought way more than we needed due to living 1.5 hrs away. My husband and I drove all the way to Reno from Rocklin to see a sample of a wood floor that the Rocklin store did not have in stock. We picked up that sample and brought it home. Before ordering 1500 sq ft. of it, we looked one last time on the website and found another sample that we liked better but didn't want to make the long drive again. I called the Reno store and asked if someone would be kind enough to take a pic of both floors side by side so that we could see the difference in color. Andrew Shulz was kind enough to get the two samples and text me several pictures in minutes! Not just one pic, but 3 so we could really see the color. He was so helpful and professional! He saved us a lot of time and money! Thank you Andrew for all of your help and the extra time you took out of your day!!! When he wasn't sure, he said so which I really appreciated rather than misinform me. There is nothing great about the Reno NV Floor and Decor. I live 90 miles away and went there two weeks ago to buy tile to remodel an entire bathroom. We finally got a young salesperson to help us. She assured us that we had everything we needed and had a lot of experience. She loaded the cart and said that she broke a few tiles so she gave us 3 extra. After review we were charged for the 3 tiles. To make a long story short we are making our 4th 180 mile round trip to correct mistakes that the Reno store made. One box of tile loaded was not even the right company or color, we had to return trim that she insisted that we needed, when we wanted to buy more bullnose we were told that only there was only one piece left as this tile was being discontinued. Only one week later, we should have been notified on purchase and we would have picked a different pattern. Now we go to open the original bullnose boxes purchased and realized that the salesperson loaded a box that did not match. The Reno store's solution to being short the bullnose is to bring it back (4th trip) and buy something that does not match. We are now going to make the 4th trip to the Reno store to return the entire purchase and start over. What should have been a good experience has been a nightmare. I am sure there are more negative reviews that people just don't take the time to post. I would not even give them on star if I could. read more

You talk about the worst customer service for a flooring store in town. Bought some mosaics and had to have some shipped in from east coast store because they were out of stock. Paid for shipping and still waiting a month later for my mosaics. Talk to a manager of the department and she was just pulling her pants up the whole time. I am sorry but maybe you need bigger pants and stop lying to yourself about your pants size. Well, they lost my order and had my kitchen torn apart. I ask for my money back and the manager was so rude. I am sorry but a month, when I was told a week. Went to a local flooring store and had my mosaics in about a week. I ask to talk to the manager and was only given the assistant store manager who was giving my wife the creepy eyes. My wife left because she felt very uncomfortable by this assistant store manager. Everyone who wanted to talk to me from the warehouse to assistant store manger had very little teeth. Appearance and customer service should be zero stars for this place. I will not recommend anyone to this flooring store. read more
