Ok I literally had everyone you can think of come out to measure and give estimate for carpets. I stupidly went with Empire Today and they never showed for their install appointment. They offered lower price to make up but we didn't want to give them business. I found Seattle flooring in yelp with good reviews and they were quick to come out and had extremely good prices and even had an install appointment avail a few days later. The install guys came on time and did a great job. I'm so happy I went with this company!! I feel they are one of the few companies left that seem to actually care about their customers and they did good work. I highly recommend them! read more

I am updating my review once more to respond to "Dean P." of Floor Traders Direct because his response below conveniently reveals that there are good reasons to change my original review for Seattle Flooring Company (for whom this review was first generated) from 5 stars down to 1 star after they changed ownership to Floor Traders Direct. I have never met or spoken to "Dean P." because Floor Traders Direct refused to return my calls or respond to email. 1. Seattle Flooring Company came to my house several times to fix problems with my floor that were a result of caulking that I placed around the edges of my floor. This is one of the reasons that I gave them a 5 star review in the first place! ... because they were responsible and responsive, and provided excellent customer service. 2. Seattle Flooring company acknowledged that they had made a mistake: I have an email asking Seattle Flooring Company if caulking around the edges of the floor would be a good way to seal drafts and leaks, and they responded "Yes" - that this was okay to do, so I followed their guidance. This later caused problems with our floors, but they came to fixed this because they had given me bad information, which I have in writing. 3. So I agree with "Dean P." that you should not caulk around a floating floor. That is very good advice. I'm glad we've both figured that out. 4. However, it is telling that "Dean P." responded by mocking a formerly satisfied customer of Seattle Flooring Company, rather than dealing with me directly and honoring my previous business relationship, which was established when I spent approximately $10,000 on a floor purchase and installation. 5. Floor Traders Direct is NOT Seattle Flooring Company, and based on my interactions with Floor Traders Direct, I would not do business with them, nor could I recommend them to anyone else. I regret that this is how things turned out, but I found someone else to fix my floors. I do not enjoy engaging in this process of communicating indirectly through Yelp and I don't like the tyranny of Yelp reviews, but Dean P. could have made different choices and refrained from making facetious attacks on me in his response below. I really wish they could have just dealt with me honestly and directly in a mature and professional way instead of the snide BS that I am re-posting immediately below. As it is, I believe that Floor Traders Direct has duly earned my revised 1 star review. They may have saved themselves some money in the short run by refusing to even engage with me to discuss repairs for which they shared responsibility, but that's bad business. Here's what he said: "11/20/2019 I am sorry Carl feels unhappy that we have gone out to his job 3 times to fix HIS mistake. You see, Carl caulked the edges of the floor himself which should have never been done. Carl purchased a free floating floor which you have to leave 1/4 of an inch away from the wall for expansion and contraction to allow the floor to move. For some reason Carl caulked the open gap, which in turn would not allow the floor to expand and contract with the humidity and temperature changes throughout the year. this is ABSOLUTELY A NO NO. So what happens when a floor cannot expand and contract? The floor buckles and peaks up. Well needless to say we sent the installation crew out 3 different times and did not bill him to tear out HIS wonderful caulking job. This cost, totalling $1600, was all done for Carl at no charge. Now Carl in his INFINITE WISDOM, bashes a job which was done correctly accoring do the manufacters directions, and decides to smear our company on Yelp. Changing his 5 star review to a 1 star review just because Carl totally messed up his floor and had problems with it. Please don't be a Carl. Do not EVER caulk around the edges of a floating floor. Jason and his team are great to work with! We needed a set of stairs carpeted very fast. Jason provided a quote over Yelp messaging and overall was very easy to communicate with. Once we were ready to work together he sent DocuSign links to sign the paperwork, which just speaks to how modern and nimble their business is. Update to the update, in response to Dean: The person I spoke with identified themselves as the new owner. They were extremely rude. The tone was dismissive and know it all and they asked no questions about my issue or me as a client. Kind of like Dean's reply to my Yelp! review... I never got a call back. I had also emailed 3 times prior to calling and never got a response to those emails either. There is no flooding or water damage (although the issue is with water resistant flooring). The warranty was not just the state mandated warranty on labor. It was on the flooring itself, it was longer than one year. Pro tip: If you want floors and don't care about a warranty, buy your own from Lowe's and get a couple folks to help you - it's super easy. If you care about a warranty, call Empire or another more established company that's not looking to just meet the bare minimum legal requirement as Dean states below. Update. I went with this company in part because of the warranty, as well as the great service of the previous owner, Jason. Less than two years in some of the flooring is peeling pretty significantly. I called to see what was needed for them to fix or replace the faulty floor. The business has been sold and they have no intention of honoring the warranty. I spoke with the new owner, who was pretty rude. He took my number and gave me a vague "I'll look into it". He never called back. When you buy a business you buy their clients and contracts, including the warranty. An owner that doesn't honor that is not someone honest enough to do business with. I've referred a few folks to this company but won't make that mistake again. read more

I highly recommend this local company! Everything was done professionally - from picking out carpets at home (they bring the showroom to you!), to working with the office re: payments and delivery, and through to the final installation! Great job by everyone and I love my new carpet! read more

Scheduled an appointment on-line through HomeAdvisor and chose 10am. Got a call from Jason stating 10am was booked but 12pm was open. Reluctantly agreed and emphasized I had to take a day off work and that we take care of my special needs son and we had to make arrangements to have him out of the house during the quote/inspection. Jason never showed or called. Tried calling him but only got voicemail. I can't trust a company that won't keep to a schedule or give you any kind of heads up, esp when you have to go through hoops to ensure you are ready for them. Not recommended. read more
