I had two rooms of carpeting installed and during the very first vacuuming the seam split. I've called repeatedly to both the sales person and to the owner to have someone come out to repair it and my calls have never been returned. They're quick to make the sale but horrible craftsmanship and quality. read more

So this is half a review and will update if we use this company for installation. We worked with Lonna to pick a material for two rooms on a new build. Lonna is very good at her job. We showed her other material and explained what we were looking for and she within 30 seconds identified the best match. We are building a house and have a million decisions. It makes it a lot easier when you deal with people like Lonna. read more

Flooring Connections came into our home as a subcontractor hired by our general contractor to do some prep work on the subfloor and install engineered wood flooring in our basement. They weren't even going to moisture test our concrete subfloor until we insisted, and then used a makeshift method that the flooring manufacturer would not accept. They did a poor job of leveling the subfloor, resulting in dips well outside of the manufacturer's tolerance. Workers were late, rude, and arrived unprepared for the job (one worker unboxed a brand-new saw in our driveway and damaged several flooring pieces during install). Flooring Connections management inspected the site and declined to acknowledge or fix the issues and are refusing to reimburse us for the thousands of dollars we later spent to fix the problems. After we provided a report from an independent NWFACP-certified flooring inspector, Flooring Connections offered to pay less than half of our expenses, yet somehow still insisted they stood by their work. Ultimately, the liability for the work lies with our general contractor, who we have been fighting with for the last 9+ months to make this situation right. But, we are posting this review in case it's helpful to other homeowners. If you must hire Flooring Connections, make sure you are knowledgeable about the installation requirements for the flooring you choose and give close supervision of the entire project, because Flooring Connections has not shown that they will complete jobs in a professional manner or fix their mistakes. read more

Avoid at all costs! Worst experience I've ever had as a customer. While most employees are decent the service manager "Steve" is totally obnoxious, crude and should be fired immediately. In addition, their "sales practices" include charging the customer for picking up their inventory from Seattle (imagine a grocery store charging you for picking up their produce), only accepting credit cards if you agree to an additional 3.5% charge, providing a bid that does not include labor for reinstalling baseboard. Further, they do not honor commitments to install on a specific date but instead offer lame excuses for multiple cancellations. I can't say enough about our positive experience...especially with Christina and the subs that work with Flooring Connections. We also had a complete kitchen renovation done at the same time. We were put into a terrible position by Empire after they did not show up as promised the Monday after Labor Day. We had moved almost our entire home into our garage and rented a huge pod for our driveway to accommodate the rest of our home following the directions from the Empire Salesman. With the no show on Monday I called a Christina to ask if she knew of anyone to help on such short notice as we had a very tight schedule and needed the entire kitchen done along with 1900 Sq ft of flooring put in. Christina and her boss drove to our home that day within two hours. Our entire renovation was done within the month so that I was able to list our home prior to entering the hospital for major surgery. The patient perfection that made the kitchen cabinets so beautiful by Lee and the flooring work done by Tracy were incredible. Tracy worked two of the four weekends to finish the project on time. We encountered professionalism and caring throughout the entire process! I will only use Flooring Connections for renovations on any new home we buy! She coordinated everything from choosing flooring, cabinets, etc. to organizing installation. This was all done while we were in Los Angeles. They must have so much existing business, that they don't need any more or my money is just not as good as other people's. At least that was the impression I left with after a second visit. On my first visit the initial reception was fine. The rep answered my questions and gave me samples to take home. She said she would call with the answer to an outstanding question about price, but didn't. When I returned the samples a few days later, it was her day off and the people who were there barely acknowledged me. While they weren't outwardly rude, I couldn't help feeling that the door was going to hit me from behind as I was leaving. Having moved to Anacortes from an extremely toney area that is full of snobs, until I went to Flooring Connections, I thought I had left that behind. Actually, I never got such disinterested treatment before or since moving here. read more

We contracted with Flooring Connections to refinish our hardwood floors. The job was to be 3 days. We needed to be out of the house the entire time. Day 1 the contractor was a no show. We received no communication from Flooring Connections there would be a delay. The job took 4 days. Again no communication from Flooring Connections about the additional day. Friday afternoon we arrived home to a complete mess. Chipped molding, blue tape everywhere, a pile of saw dust, door left off hindge, broken screen door, and stain splashed on the molding throughout. We then received an invoice for the balance due. We notified Flooring Connections asking them to address the damages. We heard NOTHING! A week later, again with NO notice from Flooring Connections the same contractor showed up. I was speechless and embarrassed at his unexpected arrival. To his credit he was a complete professional! Communicated clearly and timely how he would address the issues. He matched the trim paint exactly, painted the trim and left the Paint for us. He even researched care of the floors for us as Flooring Connections provided nothing. Still haven't heard a thing. Thankfully the subcontractor has more professional integrity than Flooring Connections. One star and that's for the Subcontractor read more

The only complaint I had was that I was told the tile I purchased would be on their delivery truck on a certain day and available to pick up the next day. When I drove 50 miles from South Whidbey to Anacortes on that day, they told me that the tile was not there yet. That was $50 worth of gas and an extra day spent. I should have been called to tell me that my tile would not be available on the day they said it would. Customer service was poor. read more

This place is the worse business ever I deal with. Poor customer service, don't follow through, bad work, don't care about the work they do, just because they don't have that many business and they are one of the main ones on the island they treated customer really bad. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! The subcontractor we hired for our home remodeling recommended I go to Flooring Connections International for our tile (floor and back splash) selection. There is a vast variety available to choose from and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Sally Z. was my point of contact; she was very professional and personable. This place was referred to me by a good business acquaintance, but things didn't work out too wellI feel, for our carpet installation. The installer called me at 8AM to install the carpet, which ww thought was to be done the next day. They were booked up the next day, so we had to make it work to get it done then, rather then a week later. No call from the store ahead of time to remind of the scheduled installation. Its not a requirement to do so, but if they did, it would have saved a lot of last minute scrambling. The installer did not bring enough padding, and commented about coming out the next day to finish. Being nice, we offered to head out and pick up the padding so it could be completed that day, 45 minutes each way. The installer also carpeted over two heating ducts, hummmmm, I found out later when I noticed two heat duct grills sitting aside. The 3 seams in the 12' hallway do not look great. One piece should have been used. I would have a problem recommending this business to others based upon my experience. read more

I think Flooring Connections prefers big installations, commercial perhaps. They carpeted my little house last fall. Julia was very businesslike, which I didn't mind, because I wasn't there to make friends. She sold me some very nice carpet and a fine underpad, and said they'd "knock it out in a day." I wasn't too thrilled with that, of course--it's a home, not a shed--and she hadn't seen it, and that's about the way the installation went. But they did carpet it. All the way through the tiny entry and up to the front door. And that made the front door almost impossible to open. I wish someone, the woman who measured (incorrectly, according to the installer) or the very nice installer himself, had asked if I really wanted this pale carpeting in the entry, right up to the door. I'm a grownup, and I should have thought of it, so I can't really blame them, but it says something about their customer service that they didn't take my job more seriously. And when I eventually called to explain my problem, I heard "We can't possibly get around to you for a couple weeks." "Oh goodness, I'm so sorry" would have gone down better. I'm having someone else re-floor my entry. read more

We came to Flooring Connection with a box of remodel ideas/pictures torn from numerous magazines. Owners Jerry and Terry Zwiers set with us and immediately pointed out the style we appeared to lean. We walked the store and were impressed by the large variety and high quality of their selections. It can be very overwhelming but they truly "listened" to our mumblings and confusion over what we did or didn't want. Terry said she would pull together some different looks based on what we had said and our picture box. And that we could tweak the looks she came up with or start over fresh! Upon our return the following week we had three beautiful palettes of Kitchen, Bedrooms and Bathrooms ideas. Each including Wood Flooring, Carpet, Tiles, Grout,Countertops. We could easily envision each room. We had done our homework and found Flooring Connection had everything and more than others and were cost competitive. Our Contractor was adamant with us that deliveries must arrive when promised as he didn't want delays. Each and every selection ordered arrived correct and on scheduled. The Wood flooring and Carpet installers were very personable, professional and the workmanship precise and perfect. Our Contractor commented how much he appreciated and enjoyed working with the owner Jerry.
