so the folks came to fix the issues they caused with their poor install. Call me upon arrival first saying they didn't see any marks then to say well you all walked on it making it this poor. Pointed out that it's not out walking because we didn't walk blocked off areas and even areas were can't walk on if we wanted to were awful. Guy then said "I know your kind of people and you just want something free." At this point I lost it telling him my kind of people who didn't ask for a single cent for the poor install just to make it right. My kind of people that's been working for everything I have since I was 15 years old. My kind of people who served my country honorably, those are my kind of people. The idiot calls his dispatcher and tells her the same lie about us walking on it and leaves the site. Of course I call the store manager and let him have it because there's no way a guy can do poor work call came insult me and keep my 7700.00 no at this point it seems obvious I'm going to have to pursue litigation because this is just awful. read more

I had the Floors for Living in Cypress come out to give me an estimate for new carpet. The salesman came out and told me I had right at 1500 square feet to carpet. I thought that seemed like a lot, as my house is only 1825 square feet and there is no carpet In the living room, kitchen, or bathrooms, but,accepted what he had to say. I then had Carpet Giant come out, and, guess what! I only have 1358 square feet of carpeted area. Plus, Carpet Giant's price was about half that of Floors for Living. read more

One star, only because zero is not an option. This company's customer service is some of the worst I have ever dealt with. They will not quote prices on installation for you because they make up prices on the fly depending on how much they think they can screw you over for. Different salesman will give you different rates. If you have an issue that you need resolved do not bother calling customer service or the corporate office, Cindy Street and Teresa Herschberger are the most un-helpful people you will encounter. This company is no longer associated with the Better Business Bureau because of the number of complaints and fraudulent acts. STEER CLEAR!!!!! read more

This company is the absolute WORST!!! The salesman made promises about the process, the care the installers would take as well as their ability to reinstall our toilets after installing the vinyl flooring. The installers were horrible, left debris all over our front flower beds and driveway, urinated on the bathroom floor and toilet seat in our half bath and left foot prints and hand prints on the doors and downstairs entry way. Dale (the salesman) said the lead installer would be there and be able to speak English with us, however that was also false. And when they went from tile to vinyl and had to do some additional work to reinstall the toilets suddenly said they wouldn't be able to do it. The stairs all have poor craftsmanship (sharp corners, uneven connection points, etc. and when I tried to get help to resolve the issues we had, Dale was useless in helping fix anything or providing a partial refund for the promises he made that he went back on (the unexpected expense of having to have a plumber reinstall the toilets). His District Manager, Jared, (who took 4 days to get a phone call from) was rude and dismissive of our issues. If you have any flooring needs, do NOT use this company! read more

Three reasons why I give them 2 star. 1.) When I first step into their store they have friendly and knowledgeable staff. They showed me different options and explained in detail the different materials. However, last week when I went back, there was only one person in the store, his name was Christopher or Christian, and the seem like he didn't know anything. As if I walked into another store. That's why they get 4/5 in this area. 2.) When they came and installed the floors, they didnt show up on the time scheduled. They gave me a time window between 9AM - 11AM, they showed up at 1PM. So, 2/5 in this area. 3.) After they finished installing the stone floors, they left a mess. The stones were not flat even. Several stone tiles were sticking up and someone can easily trip. When I pointed out to them, they told me that, it's because it's natural stone, it's not even. Since this was my first time installing stone tiles on my house, I just thought that was suppose to be. But when I asked other flooring companies, they said, that this is not true. So, they get 1/5 here also. read more

We had our 1st floors done last year the salesman from the katy location was kind of stupid he even spelled my name wrong. This year we wanted the same floor installed upstairs and Austin Gustafson is our salesman this time because they fired the last guy. We started talking in June and everything was ready we were told the floors would installed when we start making payments, after we made the first payment we went from a july install to a late August install and when we called and asked about our floors Austin give us many different excuses and our floors got pushed back to September. We had to go get a refund and afterwards was told when the floors arrived at the warehouse that we could reorder them and they would start the install. It is now October 9th and we haven't even seen or heard anything from the floor installers. But Austin says they were sick today. We have two kids and we have packed and moved everything downstairs twice to have our floors done and if floors for living don't start in the next day my family is going to be pissed because of this crap. read more

I purchased tile flooring from Floors for Living on October 9th 2019. I spent over $13,000 to have the tile installed with grout throughout my entire first floor. They promised that the tiles would be installed without any hollow tiles and if there was any problem they guaranteed a "Lifetime Installation" and would come back to rectify the problem. My complaint is that the tiles and grout were not installed correctly and I have lots of "hollow" tiles though out my downstairs with the grout showing "white" lines seeping through the grout. I have spoken to Kurt Duitsman, President of Floors for Living, Jeff Streeter who is now the VP, and Michael Streeter, Head of Customer Service and Installation many times. I have explained the issues that I have had with their initial installers, problems with my grout and with "hollow" tiles, multiple times. I even sent pictures to Kurt showing the exact tiles that were installed in my home as well as the "white" seeping through my grout. Kurt told me that he would forward these pictures to Jeff for resolution. They have sent installers, to my home, to try to correct the grout and tile issue, many times, but these problems still exist. The installation crew has told Jeff and Michael that the grout was improperly done and that the grout needed to be chipped out and regrouted if it was to be done correctly. Kurt and Jeff choose to ignore the recommendation of the installers. The installation crew also brought multiple boxes of tiles to replace the "hollow" ones, but before confirming that the tiles were correct, they broke out tiles from my floor. I made them stop tearing up my floor and asked them check the tiles they brought to make sure that they were the correct ones, before continuing. Lo and behold, the multiple boxes brought didn't match my tiles. They were bigger, totally the wrong color and texture. The installers sent Jeff pictures of the incorrect tile showing him that they didn't match what I had on my floors. Kurt, Jeff and Michael keep telling me that they will take care of the problem but as to today (2 years later) I have missing tiles (approximately 6 ft x 3 ft) in the middle of my kitchen floor, hollow tiles throughout my home and grout that was incorrectly installed. I have also explained to them that I have someone living with me who requires the use of a walker and this has been a real liability having missing tiles. I believe 2 years is a long time for me to have to deal with this issue and get no resolution. read more

Floors for Living(Katy store) Bought carpet from this store that matted up on the walk paths throughout the whole house within 5 months. The store agreed to replace the carpet for free because the manufacturer saw that this was not a good batch. So I upgraded to a better carpet, which meant I paid an additional 1200. That was fine. But after the carpet was put in, the people put the doors on in my closet so that they won't close. They overlap. My bedroom door won't shut without force and scrapes the molding. I told the installation guy this before they left. The guys said the door could be shaved down with no problem. Floors for Living shaved another of my doors down for this same problem when my hard flooring was installed to accomodate the problem. I contacted Christian who told me he will not honor the fix. He was rude, as he had been a few times while handling this situation along the way. At first he said he was going to have it taken care of, and now he says I have to take care of it. I spent a lot of money on flooring with this company. They fixed one door but will not fix the other. So I have a door that has to be pushed with force to shut while scraping the molding due to new install. I would not recommend this company to anyone wanting flooring. read more

I just had new carpet installed in all of my bedrooms and closets. From start to finish Curtis Bowman took care of us. We initially picked a carpet out of our budget and called Curtis to tell him we changed our mind. He sent us pictures of less expensive carpet and came in under budget. He promptly refunded our overpayment. The installers were very professional, on time and trustworthy. We left them in our house all day while we were out with our kids. BEWARE. The Salesman (Curtis) opened 2 credit accounts in my name. He lied to my face and said he was going to run a fico score search, (does not impact your credit) and HE OPENED 2 CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTS IN MY NAME. I found out when the paperwork came in the mail. Yes, i reported what happened to the authorities, store management, bank, BBB and now YOU. The district manager apologized, offered to sell the flooring at the sale price and did nothing about the salesman who had lied and stolen my credit. During my visit to the store on 12/31/18, I was quoted a price, agreed to fico score check, I declined the quote, Curtis started yelling, puffing up at me... we were alone in the store as it was closing time. He stood at the EXIT door and (6'0 200+ man, I am 5'2, 120 lbs women) and tried to bully me into purchasing a floor. I am not going to be bullied but I left in tears. Next business day, when I reported it, he apologized for the "yelling/bully" behavior. 10 days later in the mail paperwork from bank arrived, I called the bank and he had opened 2 credit card accounts in my name without my permission. In preparation to upgrade my home, I have worked hard to build up my credit and now I have to pursue action with credit agencies/banks to resolve this mess and continue finish remodel, with my credit tied into his lies. Lawyer says 1 year to totally clean it up. In the end, I hired an A+ company to install floor. I live in Katy, I can verify this review as truth. Neighbors, beware, protect yourself and go to the next company on the list. read more

We had our carpeted stairs replaced with laminate flooring by Floors for Living Katy location. I recently made a trip to the store because I had someone come in to clean our air ducts and they damaged the very top step and needed to have it replaced. I spoke to John who told me he would have to call the vendor to see if he could get the same product and then come out to repair. I called him three times within the next three weeks and each time was told he would get back with me this was late July early August to date they have not called me back. It just makes me wonder about their lifetime warranty. read more

Two of their installers came and completed the job in 1 day without a flaw or accident of any kind (that's a first) and that is also moving all of our furniture. I was so impressed with the carpet and have gotten lots of complements. It looks gorgeous, and was under budget. Curtis Bowman was the reason we went with this company. I had been to many many others places and their prices were way beyond our budget and the wait to have it installed was really long. Don't shop anywhere else. I received several bids (fly by night installers) for a granite counter top for my outdoor grill. First and foremost, I was very impressed by the lifetime warranty Floors for Living provides on all of its jobs. The quote they provided beat the competition hands down. The quality of workmanship and professionalism of the installation crew was superb. The angle of cuts were tough considering the outside wall wasn't vertically straight. When I first went into the store, no one helped me. There was one person and he said he was new...and couldn't answer my questions, or he made up an answer which I knew wasn't correct. Then they never came when they said to measure, and once did, acted like they weren't sure how to do it. (same guy). Then he never got back with me. Called manager who wasn't much help. They had charged me $150 for samples, then after telling me it had been credited, I find out 10 days later it wasn't. After never hearing back after they measured, I went to the store, and guy wasn't there, and no one could make sense of his measurement and drawings. So, manager came back out....AGAIN. I could go on with another dozen erroneous issues, but suffice it to say....I felt I was forcing a square peg into a round hole and went somewhere else. read more
