Our decision to replace the entire first floor (2300 sq ft), was significant in several ways. Cost, inconvenience, stress, mess, and other ways that are life disrupting. You would think with all of those pressure points the experience would be bad regardless of who was involved. However, after four days my wife and I couldn't be happier. Was it perfect? No, but very close. I should also mention my parts of the stress which could hVe derailed the situation. My employer messed up my paycheck and bonus. I am currently working with Katy Tile and they have been an absolute pleasure thus far. They came out the same day I requested a measurement and quote. They have also been very patient and worked with us on the tile selection, even offering to stay open late due to our work schedule. Great customer service is becoming more and more difficult to find, and I have been so impressed by Jacob and his team. On top of that, the prices are more than fair. If you are looking for flooring tile, back splash tile, or bathroom tile GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! My wife and I were looking for a difficult to find tile and walked into Katy Tile. We found a tiny sample and after long debate decided to order the tile from that. It is an expensive back splash tile ($17.00 / sq. ft.) so we were hesitant about it. We were told that it had to come our of New Jersey and would take 5 days. That was all we were told as they took 100% of the money up front! Since we do not do this every day, we did not know the questions to ask and counted on the owner to be honest with us. After a week the tile came in. We brought it home and it was different than expected as the tiny 4" sample did not show what a whole tile looked like. We were not real happy with it, We called and told the owner we wanted to return it. NOW he tells my wife "There is a 25% restock fee"!! REALLY, 1/4 of the cost to put it back onto a shelf. What theft. So we decided to use it. When we finished the job we had tile left over, so I took it back to the store and the owner now tells me "It is a 35% restock fee but it is not returnable as it was a custom order"!! So I am now stuck with $150.00 worth of tile I can't use all because we were not told upfront that it was non-returnable, or a huge ripoff return fee. On the bright side, we work with a lot of people who ask us for referrals for suppliers just like this and we will be VERY GLAD to tell them "Do NOT go to Katy Tile on Fry road, they will rip you off!" read more

This guy claims he's had no complaints in (15) years,well this is the first. Had a small job done in my bathroom and hallway. Job was not completed after several calls to the office speaking both to the owner and father both over the ohone and in person. They told me there workers would be back to finish the job on three different occasions,the workers never showed up as of 08/30/17. Today I have a leak caused by the incompletion of the work after the toilet was disconnected,when I called the owner said he had no complaints in fifteen yeras,never did he say I'm sorry,or what can I do to take care of the problem. Needless to say this is the last time I use these guys. My suggestion is to never pay more than (50%) up front and do not pay until you give them a final inspection that the job is complete. read more

Find somewhere else. We had them install flooring and I made the mistake of paying them before the floor was finished. After multiple calls they refused to install the transitions. I ended up having to do it myself. They hire inexperienced kids who don't know how to install flooring. read more

I had engineered hardwood installed in my study at home. The wood looks great BUT: 1. Hidden Costs - It was not pointed out that floor leveling was an extra expense. This ended up adding 20% to the total cost. My house is not unusual, so anticipate that the final cost will be up to 20% higher than what is quoted. 2. Quality of Installation - The installers knocked numerous chunks off my baseboard during installation. Some is covered by quarter round, but many missing chunks are visible. They had to stain some trim pieces; and with the stain on their hands left numerous stain marks on my walls. I will probably go elsewhere to finish the hardwood installation for the rest of my house. read more

I recently purchased some wood looking tile from Katy tile (jacob) the work was suppose to take 3-4 days took more like 5-6 days but that was ok what NOT happy with is the grout they installed turned from a coffee brown (which we wanted) to a grey have sent 2 E-mails and 3 phone calls saying they would return been stood up 3 times I would not refer this company to any of friends make sure you do not pay them till the job is to your satisfaction because they will not return thanks read more

Terrible. Don't waste your time or money. The quality of their installation was terrible and they refused to correct their mistakes. Not a problem with the wood flooring - problem with their installation. Ended up costing a LOT of money to have a real company come in and completely re-do their work.
