A straightforward local cafe, serving the usual range of pastries, as well as a menu of simple main meals. We were just after a very light lunch, so had a tuna salad roll (€2), vegetarian salad (€5.5), with a cover of bread (2 generous crusty artisanal rolls for €1.5) and a small local cheese (€2.75), a water and coke. Altogether it came to €15. All perfectly ok, though the salad (lettuce, onion, tomato and a lot of tinned sweet corn) was a little disappointing compared with the other items. Quick, friendly service.

Within the Barrio alto neighborhood, this Cafe was a short walk from our apartment. Went on a Monday morning. Service was quick and accurate. Has a plentiful selection of local pastry. The fruit bowl was refreshing and the coffee (Americano) was hot will be back tomorrow morning

Grilled sardines: this fish has a lot of tiny bones so be carful. It came with 4 big sardines. This is salty. They say the longer it's been in the ocean for the saltier the fish will be. This came with a side of veggies to eat with the fish if you do not like the salt taste. Fried octopus: this comes grilled with onions, and potatoes. It's warm and has the perfect amount of garlic seasoning Cheese pastry: flakey, room temperature, and reminds me of cheesy jello. It was sweet ( but not too sweet). Will definitely be getting these again on the trip. Overall: service was quick, clean and delicious!

Quick service! We were in line for probably 8-10 mins before we could order. Highly recommend this place.

That is exactly the "good" problem Landeau has as besides their famous chocolate cake, all they have are beverages, inadvertently making their sign outside with the proclamation "When in doubt, try chocolate cake!" kind of hilarious. Once you've huffed and puffed your way up one of Lisbon's stairmaster hills, the darkened and vintage feeling interior of this particular Landeau feels very welcome. Although there is ample seating for the size of this store, the ample line of people waiting to get in from the outside might make getting a seat difficult nonetheless. I do like the regular lattes here but let's face it, any beverage you get here is really meant to be a sidekick to the main star of the show, Landeau's famous chocolate cake. And it is indeed, the best slice of chocolate cake you'll ever have, and that is not hyperbole. Layered and textured, but pillowy and light, it's really difficult to describe what a beautiful heavenly experience eating a chocolate cake at Landeau is. It's like treating your mouth to the most sumptuous and comforting experience it's ever going to have when eating something and you never want to end. And for under 5 euros, it almost feels like a steal. I really do consider going to a Landeau one of the highlights of my trip to Lisbon and urge everyone to put it on their must eats here. Even yes, over the egg tarts.

Large enough to share, but small enough that you don't feel guilty indulging. The cake itself is three layers of perfection - a chocolate cake base, chocolate mousse middle, and a dusting of cocoa powder on top. We got the hyped up chocolate cake, heralded by the NY Times, in their piece, "The Chocolate Cake…read moreThat Saved My Vacation" and dubbed one of the best in the world. With a spare day in Lisbon, we headed to LX Factory for a ride on the tram and a look around at the art and the vibe. I researched whether there was anything unique, or considered a must-try to eat or drink there, and lo and behold, it was the cake. We ate a few blocks away, but before leaving the area, we returned for dessert to try this cake. The cool coffee shop was very airy and green, with lots of seating, both indoors and out. It wasn't busy when we were there, so I ordered a slice to share with my two littles, who devoured it! I guess I should have ordered two! It was light and airy, with a smooth, rich brownie bottom layer. The cake was flavorful and light, in the best way. I could have lingered longer here with a coffee as well, but with two antsy littles in tow, I wouldn't have enjoyed my coffee much, but the cake hit the spot. If you find yourself at LX Factory, definitely get the cake! I don't really have a sweet tooth, nor love desserts that much, but this cake was great and not too sweet. It's not worth a special trip for, but definitely don't skip if you're at LX Factory and craving a sweet treat. I don't think it's the best in the world, but yeah, it's good!
