After 20 years of being a patient in this office, no one bothered to tell me that my insurance was no longer accepted. I was called the day before I had an appointment to have my crown fixed, that had a temporary filling in it, to let me know they could not see me. I am so upset at the way this was handled. Zero communication!! The worst office staff. Just leaves me scrambling to find someone to fix this tooth quickly. How are people treated this way??? read more

She makes sure you are comfortable throughout the cleaning, so I think if you are someone nervous about dentists/dental cleaning she would be a great fit. I've had a lot of work done there and it's been a pleasant experience so far. My primary dentist there is Dr. Basilio and she is awesome! I would recommend her if you're looking for a dentist (tell her I referred you to her, I see her way too much). She's very gentle, knowledgeable, honest, and great at what she does. I've been to many dentists before and they've really done such a terrible job that I grew to hate ALL dentists. My fiance had to talk me into and sometimes force me to go to the dentist because of toothaches that I'd rather sit out than see a dentist for. I was terrified of dentists because of my past experiences. Dr. B was very understanding and kind. She is really good at prioritizing what needs to be done and what can wait (I've had a problem with that before with my last dentist and he fixed a tooth that didn't need to be touched). She also kept my personal preferences in mind, which is mostly financial stuff and also, I'm getting married in 2 weeks so she made sure I have a great smile for the pictures. Her assistant, Nancy, is also very nice to work with and I think she's actually the supervisor for all the assistants there. Dr. B does what needs to be done and she has a really great personality. I have received the best care there more than anywhere else. Their billing goes over everything with you before putting you in a chair to make sure it's what you want and that it's what you want to pay for. They also explain things if you have any questions or they call your insurance company directly for you if they don't know the answer. Sometimes I get taken in within 5 minutes. A few times they ran a little late and I sat in the lobby for half an hour. But they are so pleasant that I don't mind it much and it doesn't happen often at all. Overall, really great dental office, friendly staff, great dentist, and they do care about the right things instead of just making a few hundred/thousand bucks off you. I would be very honest about referring dentists, because I don't like them generally and don't trust a lot of them. But I think Dr. Basilio (we call her Dr. B) is a really great person who is passionate about what she does. She's genuinely one of those kind and happy people that are great to be around, and she knows what she's doing which is the biggest deal to me. read more

My husband has been going to this dentist for a few years. We have Delta Dental Care insurance under Kaiser. He has gone for quarterly cleaning with no problems. He went for his appointment two weeks ago - went in for his cleaning and when he came out of the cleaning and went to pay his normal deductible and the staff said they no longer honor this insurance. He was not notified in advance and this dentist is STILL listed as a provider under the Delta Care insurance. He paid the bill, called to complain with no satisfaction and has written to Delta Care customer service with no response. read more

We have been a patient dating back to when Dr. Kruger owned the business since early 1990s and were always pleased with the level of dental care received. However, when Stenger bought the Business, my wife decided to stay because Dr. Basilio who is a very good Dentist was held over in the transfer of ownership. But soon we noticed the culture change. The friendly previous employees such as Jenny and others were systematically weeded out and replaced with rude, know it all, dismissive, unprofessional front desk personnel. Although we had insurance we were now being charged for "what they didn't pay" items. Also, the level of care was falling off, appointments were quick, short, and non-comprehensive. Making an appointment additionally became an unbelievable task to achieve. When you did get in to be seen, you were handed piles of forms and paperwork to sign and disclose every personal detail of your life. We do not recommend this practice, stay away. Do your research, there are good Dentists out there. read more

If I could give a minus for this dentist, I would! I've been going to her for a number of years for cleanings only because she takes my Delta Dental insurance. However, over those years she has repeatedly (EVERY time I've visited) diagnosed issues (root canal, deep cleaning/scaling, special rinses, etc.) that I've gotten a second and even third opinion from reputable dentists and endodontists who say her diagnosis is incorrect and I DON'T need these treatments. The last time I visited in September, 2021 for a routine cleaning, she completely missed a cavity that my reputable dentist (not on my Delta plan) said was so obvious her assistant could have diagnosed it! Today I called to make an appointment for my routine cleaning and was told that unless I pay for "scaling" my gums at an out-of-pocket cost of $404 (additional procedures she recommended with this scaling totaled $1,004) which no other dentist I've seen recently for a root canal, a crown, and a filing says I need, she will not clean my teeth! Simply outrageous and unethical. Dr. Stenger is very personable and seems trustworthy in person; don't be fooled! NOTE: After originally posting this review and seeing Dr. Stenger's response, I called her office as she had suggested. That was a week ago last Friday. I immediately removed my post thinking if she was willing to make things right, I would give her that opportunity. However, she never returned my call and I even emailed her again this past week in case it was an oversight. Still no response. So, back up it goes as it is obvious she only left that response on line to make it appear she was a reasonable professional to others who may read my post. Flora S. If you are uninsured or don't want to use your insurance, Dr Stenger has reasonable first time prices and a no pressure atmosphere that should be considered. I came in for a cleaning only as my former dentist (located near a FedEx strip mall up the road) overbills my insurance and has high prices. I worked as a Dental Lab assistant for my DDS/Orthodontist while in college and use that experience to set expectations. Dr Stenger performs the bulk of cleaning herself which I appreciated and prefer over a random hygienist. Her assessment on my xray was about 90 percent spot on. The DA/Hygenist handled the prophy that could be a bit better. I'm under the impression this office is limited to basic and common needs that most patients will be happy with. Ortho work is likely referred out. Dr Stenger has a very humble attitude on initial consultation. I was in a rush and didn't chat much but I will call her in future for a followup cleaning if needed based on her attitude. I left happy. As someone mentioned, she does use ultrasonic which I also don't prefer but am not against. My assumption is this is for quicker or more accurate methods but it's something I'll ask my family dentist/college employer about sometime. read more

Nice caring dentist and she cleaned my teeth wonderful. I was very happy because I have a HMO dental plan. Everyone seemed so friendly. Than I went up front to pay my co-pay. $5.00. They said next appointment would be 50.00. Rip off!!for cleaning. I have insurance!! They do not follow dental plans they have their own rules. They must pray on unaware people. Yelp typically deletes bad reviews of dentists. I know, because I have been to a borderline incompetent dentist and that review was deleted. In this case, however, I can actually give a 5 star review. Hopefully Yelp is OK with that... Dr. Stenger's practice is well put together: - Very friendly staff - Price was as quoted and reviewed with me - She has surrounded herself with top line specialists - Her level of patient education and time spent reviewing the particulars of my case was very high. I came in for a standard exam, X-Rays and cleaning, here's my experience; Pros: ---Staff is friendly and clean. Everyone keeps their gloves on and did not handle tools/equipment with bare hands. Dental tools appear to have been steralized and sealed properly. ---The office is in a nice location/neighborhood ---I got a free coffee cup for being a new patient ---Dr Stenger spent a lot of time speaking and walking me through my x-rays and images of my teeth. This I appreciate. Cons: ---Dr Stenger tried to pressure me into ultrasonic cleaning when I requested hand cleaning. According to a family member who worked as a dental assistant for 20 years with my last dentist, hand cleaning is preferable because its cheaper, more precise and thorough. Also preferable because some people have adverse reactions to ultrasonic. Dr Stenger appeared offended and upset at this request. ---During the exam Dr Stenger went far into my gum which caused profuse bleeding. This has never happened to me before. I believe the deep tissue probing may have been done to exaggerate the need for additional work/treatments. ---During the cleaning the Dr again went too far into my gums which continued to cause excessive bleeding. I dont know if this was retribution for refusing ultrasonic or if it was an accident, but it definitely did not seem normal. I'm concerned my periodontal ligaments may have been damaged and permanent pockets created from the deep probing motions. ---The Dr does not have a hygenist on staff, and the staff DA did not assist with suction and rinsing during the cleaning which was uncomfortable. ---The Dr diagnosed me with early phase gum disease which I believe is likely since I did have generalized swelling and irritation. Probably because I hadnt had a cleaning in a long time and while I do brush twice daily I do not floss. However, the Dr sold me rinses that seemed overpriced. And she also wanted to schedule me for 2 scaling and replaining treatments the next week. This conflicts with information I got from my family DA which is that scaling and replaining is not necessary for someone of my gum tissue depths (mostly 3s/4s, some 5s) and age (27) ---Dr Stenger didnt physically check my teeth for cavities. She looked at the X-Rays and said I dont have cavities....but according to my DA some cavities cant be identified visually and the only way to identify and confirm is by physically examining the texture with a dental tool called an explorer. She did not do this. ---The staff DA rushed the polish in 5 minutes and did not do a thorough job. ---After the appt she sent in the receptionist to go over treatment....this was very alarming. I'm pretty sure receptionists are not legally allowed to advise on treatment. All in all, I give 3 out of 5 stars for the friendly staff and cleanliness. But Dr Stengers methods and billing practices seem questionable. I get the feeling the Dr wanted to perform treatments that were not necessary. I'm gonna stick with my previous dentist. read more

Flora Stenger and her team are truly amazing. They always make us feel comfortable and welcome. Going to the dentist is no longer a pain, but a fun experience. The receptionists, especially Brenda, are always keen to accommodate our appointment requests and work with our schedules. They also deal with all the paperwork and call the insurance companies themselves to find out the best routes to get the work done. We've been going there for more than a year, and all the work they've done so far is excellent, and we totally recommend them. And trust me, I am not a person that gets easily impressed. The worst dental office ever. The dentist are not up to date on the latest dental procedures. It took 2 hours to do an impression and they still didn't do it right. They called me to go back and do it again and they tried to blame it in the lab. They try to upsell you and tell you procedures are not covered by your insurance. You have to stay on top of what they charge you because they tried to charge me $100 for the antibiotic when I had a root canal, I reported this to my insurance and was told it was included. Also they send out this post card claiming they have new expanded hours. Which i inquired about this and Brenda the office girl told me they dont have expanded hours? Bait and switch? They also dont follow hippa laws. These are just a few issues I had with them. I was with this office for 20 years and it was great when Dr Keueger owned it but when he sold to Dr Stenger the quality of their work was no longer satisfactory.Think very carefully about using their services. read more

I love Dr. Flora Stenger and staff/associates. I always feel beyond welcomed and comfortable when I go to the office-which is key, especially if you're nervous about getting your teeth worked on. Dr. Flora has a gentle touch and is extremely knowledgeable. I can always trust that I am in good hands. Services are affordable, and once a year they even do a day where they provide free services to those that cannot afford dental care-this shows they really care about the patient, and do what they can to make sure EVERYONE can have healthy teeth/mouths. Dr. Basilio is absolutely the greatest dentist there is! When people talk about how they don't like to go to the dentist, it's because they haven't been to this office. I remember when I was young I went through dentist after dentist because their treatment of me was just terrible, and usually led to more complications with my dental health. I am so glad my mother eventually found Dr. Basilio for her and myself--we've both been going there for quite a few years now. Dr. Basilio is always warm and kind and chats you up when she's taking great care of you, making whatever appointment you're there for a breeze. In addition, the rest of the staff there is always friendly and welcoming, too. Billing is always very clear and they never mislead you about charges. Many other health clinics of all sorts will rush you through things so by the end you have no idea what the state of your actual health is. But here, I have never felt rushed, and afterwards I always have a clear picture of what I need to do for my dental health. I could not give a higher recommendation! read more

I dread going to the dentist, my teeth tend to be sensitive so it's usually a painful experience. Dr. Flora Stenger's office put me at ease from almost the moment I walked through the door. The whole experience was as pain free as it could be, even the uncomfortable parts weren't that bad because of the empathy of the staff (thanks Trina!) My teeth have never felt better and Dr. Flora noticed things other dentists have missed before which I didn't realize was causing me discomfort till it wasn't anymore. On 2 occasions, 2 specialist were brought in to review my dental situation and both of these Dr's...were absolutes idiots! One, took on a job he could not perform and it ended up costing me $5000 to eventually find another dentist to repair the bad work he did. The other "specialist", her diagnosis was on the wrong tooth and totally inaccurate. This last experience, they told me I needed a root canal. It made no sense to me, so I went to another dentist, who very thoroughly diagnosed my tooth and said that he did not see that I needed one. So...what this all says to me is that this office has turned into nothing but a money machine...not a business that is the business to provide accurate care in the best interest in their patients. After years of not going to the dentist (my excuse was being busy but really I'm not a lover of going to the dentist)... I started getting tooth pain and decided it was time to go in. I did some searching and couldn't be happier to have found Dr. Stenger. I was able to schedule time with her that week - during my first visit, it was clear how knowledgable she is - she quickly found that in addition to a small cavity, I had an old partial crown that needed to be replaced. She was incredibly detailed in explaining what needed to be done and why, but she didn't push me to do anything that wasn't necessary (as had been my experience in the past with a different dentist). She was able to get everything done very quickly within just 2 visits - and was sweet, professional, and very gentle. Words cannot describe how satisfied I am with Flora Stenger and her team. My wife and I have been living in the US for nearly three years so far, and we've been trying to find a good dentist since then. We both needed some work done. Every time we tried to approach a dentist, they've always sounded salesy, and they've always tried to do more work than we needed. Dentists should not sound like car salespeople; it's freaking unbelievable how hard it is to find an honest dentist! We finally ended up with doctor Stenger and her team, and they were great. From the very beginning, they created a plan how to get all the work done, and we never felt pushed into doing something we are not comfortable with. They were also calling the insurance companies themselves to find out what are the best routes to get the work done. All the work they did was excellent, and we totally recommend them. I was referred by a friend to Dr. Stenger to see a specialist at her office and was welcomed by a very friendly staff. I was giving a tour of the office, which by the way very nice and modern. I met with Dr. Stenger and Dr. Hoffman for a consultation, they answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. It was worth the drive! :) read more

***beware*** i had a tiny cavity and it was not bad at all, but after dr flora drilled out the cavity and charged me flora decided that i needed a root canal that cost $2,800. i agreed to have the root canal done. they drilled out my tooth and a huge chunk of tooth was logged in my throat, i could not speak and was choking i finally was able to move around erratically and they stopped the drilling i had to swallow a large piece of tooth which i feel made me sick! the crown they planted was not fitting correct so after 6 months of uncomfortable food getting stuck deep in my gums i decided to go back. they seemed to be angry about my revisit and i felt uncomfortable. they did not apply any topical before they stuck my gums with a sharp needle it was the worst pain!!!! and i could not believe that happened! then same horrible drilling began and it was just plain bad flora seemed like she was hitting other teeth in the general area and i felt the roughness on my surrounding teeth several days later. finally after 18 months of going back my crown was placed and it did not fit properly at all flora blamed it on my mouth and claimed my bone was decaying and i will need to rebuild my jaw line which is complete garbage. they refunded only a partial payment after i told her i did not want to go through anymore of this discomfort unless she can guarantee my crown to be set correctly with no gaps. flora pretty much ripped me off and now i am forced to file a small claims case against her and her practice. read more
