This was an absolutely enchanting venue for a wedding. It is just that I spent a month praying for my precious young relative and her beau that it wouldn't rain. As I understand it, you can go through a long permitting process to rent an expensive tent. I can understand why a couple might wish to dance under the stars, though; it is sublime. So if I were you and considering a wedding here, I would definitely to wish to pin down what happens if it rains. I would also try to make sure your coordinator is top-notch so he/she/they would be professional from the moment of your arrival and highly organized so any last minute changes get communicated to the appropriate party or parties and that everything goes smoothly to make guests happy! read more

What a wonderful quit place to take a stroll or just sit and relax. Full of walking paths that accommodate heels, sneakers or flip flops! Birds chirping, flowers boiling and the aroma of beautiful blooming floral scents! A must visit and if you are a local a must visit again and again! read more

This is a review for the holiday lights in the garden. They did a fantastic job decorating the lights. Our family from the toddler to the elder all loved it. A beautiful place to check out during the holiday season for the family. We saw many people bring their dogs here. They had musicians and stilts man making balloon animals. It took about an hour for the whole thing. Come early to avoid the crowd if you can. I am ready to come back and check out the garden during daylight! read more

Let's start with the drama: there are definitely alligators here. Possibly just a few feet from the trail you will be walking on. The one I saw was doing that stereotypical thing where they hide mostly under the water with just their eyes peeking out. It just floated there, watching us. We kept walking and it left us alone. Anticlimactic, but in the good way. Now onto the eponymous gardens. The property is huge! We were there for an event that included a garden/sculpture tour. At dusk, the light was so beautiful. There are paths that wind through various styles of gardens. Towering shades trees and a swamp covered in lillypads and of course lots of tropicals. I saw maybe 20% of what's there so I will definitely be back to explore the rest. Looks like you could budget at least a couple of hours to spend here. If you are in search of a wedding venue, they have a dedicated wedding garden (very picturesque) and a reception space. This is also where the arts organization Creative Pinellas hosts its events. This nearly two-hundred-acre modern-day Garden of Eden is an unexpected refuge offering peace and solitude in an area whose landscape is blighted by too many strip malls and used car lots. Well-marked plants native to Florida are interspersed with exotic tropicals in a series of formal gardens that alternate with natural settings. I imagine it might be too uncomfortable to wander through here during the summer months, but in cooler weather it's a perfect place to catch up with a good book on a bench sheltered by heavy overgrowth or in a gazebo overlooking a lily-padded pond. I arrived here just in time to catch the last night of the holiday festival, during which all the trees are draped with thousands of colorful lights, and returned this afternoon with my mother. Under a weak winter sun, with an uncharacteristic nip in the air, the two of us strolled along the paths and found ourselves whispering to preserve the quiet that surrounded us. Like a visit to an empty church, it's surprisingly calming . . . and absolutely free. read more

I visited this botanical garden this past weekend with my husband to see the christmas lights display. They did a great job decorating the whole place with twinkling lights everywhere, which is a nice way to introduce the Christmas. The park was on the small size though, and although I did like the plants/trees we saw, I was expecting more variety. I would recommend this more for a family with kids. read more

Loved it and had the best time! All of the gardens we have been to have been great. Moving from michigan 3 years ago we never knew these existed and they are truly wonderful. Love all the gardens we have been to(bok tower-sunken etc). If you like walking and being with your spouse or loved ones ina beautiful setting this is a must see. This is a hidden treasure in the Largo area. If you weren't looking for it, you would drive right by it never knowing it was there. It is quiet and beautiful! My husband and I had so much fun walking through. I love photography and I got some awesome shots! We wandered through here in Sept so it was quite hot, but still beautiful. I'd love to come here during other seasons to see the different flowers that were blooming! read more

Not only are the Garden light displays beautiful and well worth the trip. But on many evenings there is additional entertainment! The Gulf Coast Dancenter will be performing on Sat 12/14 and again on Fri 12/20. This is the 3rd year they've been invited. The shows are at 6:30 and 7:30 on both nights. They perform to great holiday favorites and really show their talents well. Come out and see the Gardens and the Dancers - you won't be disappointed!! read more

Been here several times. Nice place to walk and relax and to see some of Floridas native plants. You may even see a Gator or two if you look closely. The Christmas light display is pretty spectacular also, a definite must do for the holidays. If you want a relaxing way to be outdoors and spend an hour or two this is a nice break. read more

Florida Botanical Garden is free to tour and during holidays they have a $2 cover charge to walk through the holiday lights display. Christmas lights was amazing. There was a $4 donation per person. The last few years there was no charge. I guess they figure let's make some money out of this. Everything was nice. The lights were great and they garden was beautiful. Recommend everyone to try at least once. I saw lots of people take home flowers and plants from the garden. I wanted to take some but I didn't bring a bag. Next time i go I will surely bring some bags so I can take a few nice flowers home for decorations. read more

came here for the holiday lights in the garden and oh my gosh i am so happy we came! they did an absolutely BEAUTIFUL job decorating the gardens with lights. not to mention, the area is large so you can spend an hour to 90 minutes here easily. the staff were nice and the concessions stand offered a variety of foods. if you're ever in the area for the holiday season, definitely stop by here! you won't regret it! read more

Not sure if we went during the bad time of year but we really didn't get what we thought we would out of the trip. It was nice and the gardens were nice to walk through. We sort of felt lost the whole time and didn't know what was where or which direction to go. We'd go back again in the fall but probably not while it is hot out. read more

This place is a real gem. It's large and well maintained. Best of all, it's free! The variety of gardens is impressive, as is the natural surroundings (lakes, wilderness, etc). I haven't yet seen the holiday light displays but hope to return to see those. It's also right next to Heritage Park which has a lot of historic houses and buildings. read more

It's a beautiful place to visit day or night. During the holidays they have a ugh light display and you can walk through every part of the park and it is lit up in a different way in each garden. Last year my fiance and I decided to have our wedding their that is scheduled for next year. They finally opened up osting events again.
