Next up is Wellington, who is the foreperson of the hardscape crew. It is amazing hard hard these guys work as they completed in 36 hours what would probably take most a week. Finally, the electrician connected all of the lights and put in the transformer. The pergola was constructed in three phases. First, the hardscape was constructed in a day with the two end support beams; then Chris stains the existing beams and returns later with the remainder of the pergola constructed off site and completes it in 4 hours; finally, the electrician, Jason, connects the electricity to the pergola with a GIF for lights and installed a fan in 4 hours. I had a 200 SF paver patio constructed. I was worried because they were running a little late, and the crew arrived about 1:00 PM with a 3-man crew. They all just went to work. Everybody knew their job. They worked fast and got it done in about 5 hours. Just to be sure that the job would finish on time, a second crew showed up for the last hour and wrapped it up in time for a holiday weekend. And to top it off, I was scheduled for the week following Memorial Day, and I had asked that if they had an opening before the holiday I would appreciate being moved up. We were very excited to find this contractor for our pergola needs. There are not a lot of companies who do this any more. They had the design that made sense for us and we had not found that with other companies we asked to bid. We had a few communication issues but I find that is normal for residential contractors theses days. The work that was done was excellent and the craftsman who built our pergola did a great job.
