I have been going here for years but more recently the service has declined dramatically. I've called no less than five times to schedule an appointment leaving messages to which no one responds. Ive sent two online requests with the same results. The last time i was there, I couldn't even find my patient record and told me I was a new patient. The doctor was able to immediately find my record. As I'm writing this, I'm on hold. Someone picked up the phone and immediately placed me on hold. It's approaching close time; so they'll likely just leave me on hold then leave for the day. I have a complicated medical history so I hate switching doctors but this is ridiculous. I tore a cornea accidentally and called 5 different ophthalmologists before Florida eye clinic finally got me an appointment. The staff are friendly for the most part, with the exception of a kind of rude assistant/tech (I'm not sure what she was) who wouldn't answer my questions. She told me they'd need to dilate my eyes and I asked why both of them if only one is hurt and she rolled her eyes and said "this is your emergency visit" which didn't answer my question or add any information I didn't know. It turned out they didn't need to dilate either of my eyes. The ophthalmologist I saw was fantastic. She was thorough and helpful and answered all my questions clearly. She prescribed me some eye drops and I was all set for the week. I had a follow up a week later where she dilated my eye to confirm that there was no lasting damage. read more

I've been a customer here for about 5-6 years. I am an athlete and I constantly break or lose my glasses. These folk are alway so kind and courteous and give great service. I'm a college student, I recently lost my glasses and today went in to get a new one. I couldn't make my full payment for my new glasses but they offered to still send the frames for processing if I could pay a partial payment today and the rest next week. I am literally blind and this type of customer service really helps! I definitely recommend this place, new doctor as well, she's very kind and professional . read more

I bought my glasses here more than 2 years ago and then damaged them playing with my granddaughter. I took the glasses in 30 minutes before closing last week and Sara graciously took them and repaired them in less than 15 minutes. Although the doctors and nurses at Florida eye clinic are very good their customer service at Florida eye clinic is completely non-existent ridiculous you wait on hold for a 22 minutes then the man asks who you want to talk to then he says I'll transfer you to that number and they transfer you to the number and the number says the messages are full and they hang up on you how can you have a doctor who refuses to communicate with their patients stay away stay away read more

I went to this clinic for a couple years. My most recent experience was negative. I was told that contacts were going to be ordered for me like usual and I was told my total price for the visit. I paid and left. 3 months later I called multiple times asking where my contacts were. I was met by an unprofessional technician over the phone stating "I wasn't there that day" and that they would look into it. I kept having to call back over and over because no one was actually looking into it or contacting me with any information. Finally I find out that they were never ordered and it was blamed on me even though they told me they had been ordered and I was fitted for contact lenses. I never order them online, I always ordered through them. They came up with a story about me not having enough money that day or maybe they had me confused with someone else. I spoke with the office manager and all she could tell me was "that's not how we do business". Well apparently it is and I would never do business with Florida Eye clinic again. The whole experience left an awful taste in my mouth and I ended up having to shell out more money because of mistakes made with billing that day. As a customer who is expecting a product that they understood was paid for and ordered that day, it's extremely frustrating to have wasted months waiting for a product that was never going to come because of poor communication and mistakes that weren't even owned up to. read more

I have had decent experiences here before - but on Feb 25 they ordered me contacts and told me they would be sent to my house and I'd have them within a week. It is now March 16th and they had to call the supplier after I called THEM to inquire where they were. Turns out they are on backorder and as of now they are set to ship out next week. The amount of money I spent on these contacts - I should've gone through 1-800-contacts. I'm completely out of contact lenses after COVID and being unable to get in the office. Needless to say I'm annoyed and won't be returning. read more

I had a 1:00 pm appointment. Got there at 12:45. Checked in. Told them I did mobile check in. Didn't matter had to fill out same paperwork again. Then waited 30 minutes. Went up to Ana and asked status. She told me they were having trouble verifying my insurance. I called all my information was correct. Ana entered it wrong. After another 15 minute wait I went up again and was told one more person in front of me. I couldn't wait anymore. Asked to reschedule. Told September 5 was first available. This place needs an overhaul of their entire front Not one person smiled. Acknowledged anyone. All I was told was Thursday are busy. Well that's not my fault. read more

I find it extremely annoying that Publix vision insurance is no longer taken at Florida Eye Clinic. Publix is only one of the largest companies in Florida. This was very disappointing to hear. The receptionist, Dawn, at the Windermere location is also very rude...seems inconvenienced at any question or inquiry....and don't make the mistake of accidentally saying the office is in Ocoee, God forbid! Or you might just get a snotty reply..."we are in WINDERMERE." read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Pamela Helbling for three years, and find the front office staff at Florida Eye Clinic on Maguire Road to be helpful, knowledgeable and kind. However, Dr. Helbling's assistant/technician is less than professional, argumentative and caustic. This seems to be accepted by Dr. Helbling, which makes going to this office uncomfortable and frustrating. My sister-in-law, niece, and husband have all found new optometrist after experiencing the same lack of professionalism. My most recent visit was to replace a pair of glasses. Although my last exam was 10 months ago (prescription still valid), I agreed to a new exam. Before starting my exam, I asked for a copy of my contact prescription and was told I could not have it as I did not come back for my follow up a few months ago. Although the trial contacts fit, the prescription was correct, and I paid for the service in full, the assistant refused to provide my valid (not expired) contact prescription. She cited that I had 30 days to follow up and did not, therefore, I must start over and pay for a new fitting. Had she offered to help find a solution as opposed to aggressively ridiculing me, the appointment could have gone in a better direction. Instead, the level of frustration just communicating with this employee caused me to quietly walk out of the office after remembering the experience I had during the fitting. The fitting with Dr. Helbling's assistant was extremely uncomfortable. Both her language and physical interaction was abrasive and aggressive. I left the office feeling both physically and emotionally ill-treated. My eyes physically hurt from the technician's roughness. This time I was kindly asked by the front office staff to come back in and share my experience with Dr. Helbling in hopes of preventing this type of situation from happening again. When speaking with Dr. Helbling, although much more professional, she failed to inquire regarding my experience. She only seemed concerned with collecting a new contact fitting fee, along with my eye exam and new glass purchase. I did attempt to share my experience with her, but was cut off and told she was aware of the situation which led down the same frustrating path that I walked away from just minutes prior. There was no inquiry as to my experience and no concern that I was unhappy with the level of service. Although I had already picked out my frames and needed a new pair of glasses, I decided to take my business to another doctor that would appreciate, respect and care for the patient experience. read more

Lady was rude!!! I broke my glasses called them to replace them because they are under warranty. This lady calls and leaves a rude message on my phone about my glasses being in. I show up and she request my broken glasses... She never told me to bring them in and talked to me like I was some kind of idiot! No one with that attitude should ever work with customers. Perhaps a jail house guard would suit her attitude better. Canceling my next appointment and I will never come back. read more
