We have been going here for quite a few years now and are always happy with the service were receive. We have been to both locations and have had equally good service at both. They have a fairly good setup for handling these trying times. All the employees were wearing masks and all visitors were required to wear them also. They are doing temperature checks and you have to answer the standard questions to get service. Everyone was friendly and professional. They did a thorough eye exam and provided us with a prescription so that we can get it filled somewhere that will take our insurance for the actual glasses. read more

This is the worst medical practice I have ever been associated with in my entire life. For a few years, I saw Dr Victor Thomas. Every time he came into the room, he would sit at the computer and type not even looking at me. He could have cared less. He then approved an eyeglass prescription that was completely wrong and had to be done again. Thomas is a real hack. Stay away! However, the worst one of all is Dr David Auerbach. I had double vision and was referred to him by Dr Thomas. Auerbach sent me for an MRI and blood test which both proved negative. When the double vision cleared up by itself, I asked him why. He replied: " I don't know." Then he walked out of the room before I could ask another question. He could not have cared less. Another hack... just like his colleague Thomas. Another medical practice that only cares about taking your money. Trying to call them in the phone takes 20 minutes plus any time I have called. This past time it finally gave me an option for them to call me back so I did that. They called me back a while later and I gave them my information. After about a minute they pulled up my daughters information and immediately told me they needed to collect a fee for missing our last appointment. An appointment I tried to cancel but waited on hold so long I gave up. I told the lady I would pay when I got to the appointment. She told me I had to pay now now or they wouldn't see my daughter. I told her I guess I won't reschedule the appointment now and she said that's fine. Frustrating experience as is usual when you are stuck dealing with these people. Referred to Dr. Humphries for glaucoma consult. The worst doctor-patient interaction and communication EVER! (First person who took my information was very nice and efficient). Doctor never looked me in the face. More importantly, they failed to send office notes and test results to my referring doctor and I was in crisis with high occular pressure and we were trying to determine next treatment steps based on these findings. They never answer their phone. Kept me on hold and then after twenty minutes, they cut off the call. I sent signed formal requests for copies of my records by email to office staff. They refused to acknowledge my request. I almost had to have the tests redone, at unnecessary cost to me and medicare, because of their incompetence. Ultimately, I got Medicare's Immediate advocacy group and Quality Improvement Organization - KEEPRO- involved. They tried unsuccessfully to reach them by phone, confirming to me that they also were on hold a long time and then got cut off. But ultimately, they got through and I got my records. Eye Physicians refusal to provide me with copies of my medical records is a violation of Section 456.057, Florida Statutes, which allows patients or their legal representative to receive copies of all reports and records relating to an examination or treatment by a healthcare practitioner. I sent a complaint to the Florida Attorney General with documentation of all my emails and phone calls and I hope they go after this practice. Just to be clear, this was not a half hour effort on my part to get MY records that should have been sent to my referring doctor automatically. Even the referring doctor's office tried to call and could not get through. This was weeks of calls and emails and being subjected to a level of stress that I honestly just didn't need, especially from a medical practitioner. Shame on you. Go to any other doctor or practice but stay clear of these horrible people. read more

I was skeptical about the bad reviews, almost listened to them, about to change to a different doctor, But I'm very glad that I went. Dr. Andrew Schneier is an excellent doctor! My visit was not for eyeglasses but pediatric ophthalmology. The customer service, etc. could use some training but in this case, I don't really care much as long as the doctor is very capable. And the doctor was very capable and that's all that matters to me. Same as the other reviewer. I now understand why my pediatrician recommended this clinic, on why there were so many people, that the appointment is a long wait, and I even saw an infant (maybe newborn) which came with a hospital bed and full staff. read more

Apparently I'm not alone in my frustration with this place - a place that is unfortunately about the only place around to do what my daughter needs... and apparently they know this, too, bc they seem incredibly unconcerned about the customer service (or lack thereof) that they provide. I contacted them twice through their alleged patient portal - the one that says they'll get back to you within two days - and it's been a month with still no reply. And when I finally did get someone on the phone.... Holy cow. I've never encountered such rudeness from people in customer "service." This afternoon, after having to cancel an appointment (I'd called to confirm the date but read on the website that the covid policies are now such that my other child can't wait in the room with us or in the waiting room and ended up having to cancel our upcoming appointment because I didn't have anyone to stay with the other child who wasn't allowed in the patient room.), I simply stated, "Boy, that makes it hard for people who don't have anyone to watch their kids." She replied, "We're not trying to make it hard," then CLICK. I kid you not this woman hung up on me. My tone was not rude or anywhere close to it; it was simply stating calmly man that makes it tricky, huh? Incredibly unprofessional- but that's not the first time this has happened. When I'd had such a hard time getting hold of them before when trying to get a Rx copy for my daughter, I told him Gen that is not had success in teaching them by phone or the portal. Again, the lady hung up on me. And again, my tone was not rude at all. Apparently you can only have an attitude of rainbows and unicorns about the garbage way they treat their patients and accept it without calling attention to any of it if you don't want to get treated even worse. Our family calls this place The Eye Factory. It's overbooked and patients are shuffled in and out with what seems to be little concern for them as people. My son really has a hard time with the eye drops bc they sting his eyes; this is my child who opens wide at the dentist, hops willingly onto the table at the pediatrician office etc so it's not like he's a difficult child In These areas. One would think someone who's chosen to work with kids might have a little compassion about this but nope. The woman giving him the drops told him as she rolled her eyes if you don't stop crying I'm just going to hold you down and then I'm going To give you the drops twice bc your tears are going. To wash them out. Is that what you want? No, we just want a little compassion from our "care" providers. read more

They ordered the wrong contact prescription so I have to go back. It took over a month to get an appointment and they called last minute to cancel it. This office is unprofessional and have no sense of patient care. If you call be sure to have a cleared schedule because they NEVER answer the phone , front desk is rude and they barely know the coding for billing. I've been dealing with them for several months and finally surgery is being scheduled since July they want too many follow ups . I was advised to get a MRI , the hospital had been trying to get in contact with the doctor but because they never ask the phone the doctor had to make a call or I would have had to make another appointment to complete the incomplete request. The office never followed up on the results until I called to schedule the appointment. Now I'm being referred again ( wasting time) and the neurologist can't get through they just vaguely provided info to understand what the referral is before consultation. I said I wouldn't sign and wanted to talk to a doctor before we discuss treatment, to which she scoffed and said I couldn't do that. She asked that I sit down and went on to talk about me to the next customer in line at which point I left. The staff does not answer the phone. When calling in, we are expected to leave a message and they will return the call. For myself, they never did. The are introducing an electronic records system and refused to hand me a summary of my visit. Instead, we are expected to wait several days for an email about how to log in. That message didn't come until I let them know I had never received it. When it did arrive I couldn't make it work Requests for assistance were denied. Finally I wrote a searing complaint that was answered by the office administrator who said I would receive a call the next day. I never received it. Cold as ice and seemingly joked about my Childs serious condition. Tried to ask questions and he was so short and you could tell he just wanted my family out of there so he could get his next client in to keep the money flowing. First we were given a cost estimate sheet, which from that, we expected to pay about $150 (no vision insurance) - higher than normal but for a children's doctor you expect that. We then waited a good 45 minutes to see the doctor and once we got in he was loud and my son thought he was being yelled at. He froze up because, well, even I was scared by this guy (Dr. Gold). He rushed through it, not even giving my son time to answer most things he asked, so I am left to wonder if his eyeglass prescription is even correct. Overall it was a basic eye exam but our bill came to almost $700!! For what? I have no idea! She rambled off a bunch of services - $200 here $100 there - things that were not on their cost sheet and no one in the office during the exam cared to explain what was what - it was the same exam we have got anywhere else for $50. Cash patients who pay in full at time of service get a 50% discount which still left the bill way over the cost of any normal eye exam (over $300). Save yourself the time, money and annoyance of mediocre overpriced care - find someone else! read more

This was the worst doctors office I've ever been to. I had insurance and confirmed before making an appointment that everything would be covered and I still get stuck with a $200 bill. When I called, Laura the rudest receptionist I've ever dealt with, she told me that's what it is and they always do a refractor price. After talking to her for about a minute she was willing to reduce my bill by 50% but I still didn't think it was fair since I have done all the research before coming in I told her before you do labs or any procedures you should've told me how much it would've cost. She rudely said she would talk to the doctor about it and get back to me the next day which never happened. I had to call two days later to find out what was going on. This really upset me because when I went in to my appointment he told me in the first 15 minutes there was nothing he can do but since I had an interesting case he wanted to run more test. Should've told me was going to cost me money. And to make matters worse since I called and questioned it, they sent me a letter that they will not ever see me as a patient again.
