Florida Lumber, where have you been my whole life?? As a full-time landlord, I am constantly renovating, fixing and upgrading. Amazon has rapidly replaced Home Depot for me as a source for a wide variety of affordable finishing goods (light fixtures, vanities, faucets). However, for rough goods, like lumber, plywood and durock, I have been stuck with Home Depot. After I had a particularly terrible experience with a $5,000+ order from Home Depot that got screwed up in ways too complicated and depressing to write about, the roofing professional I use mentioned Florida Lumber. Then, my HVAC guy also recommended them. Yet, I still went on to place another order with Home Depot for lumber. The aggravation that ensued was 100% on me for not learning my lesson! I called Florida Lumber to inquire about pricing on 3/4 inch pressure treated plywood. Not only are they significantly cheaper than Home Depot, they offer free delivery on orders over $500, PLUS they allow you to place the order over the phone and pay online using a credit card (versus having to go IN to the store as one does with Home Depot). I called the day before the scheduled delivery to get a time frame and given a 2 hour window (Home Depot makes you pay extra for a 2 hour window). Next, Kevin, and extremely polite and professional guy, called the morning of to confirm. He also called to advise when the driver was 30 minutes away, and then again to let me know that the driver was there at the property. The delivery guy had no problem dropping the plywood exactly where I needed it to go and even asked if it was OK to drive on my freshly poured driveway. The customer service really leaves a lot to be desired. Not only do they try to sell the most expensive merchandise, but they also refuse to politely answer customers' questions. I have appreciated that managers do not take the time to respectfully serve potential clients. Furthermore, their English is not fluent, which creates many communication problems. I like this spot. Every time I need some gear for my building projects, I always find the best prices and selection here. Granted, it helps to know what your shopping for before arriving as the staff is limited and the customer flow is high. This spot is for the self-starters; those with the list of questions should probably head to a more user-friendly store like Home Depot. They have materials for every job and their prices are simply unbeatable. I've come here about 3 times already and have found it both worth my time and worth the hassle of finding what I need. The sales reps are helpful for the most parts just as long as you know what you specifically need. It's directly on NW 20th Street and is recognizable from its orange exterior so it's hard to miss. read more

Worst customer service!!!!! SO DISRESPECTFUL with the clients. They don't communicate, always putting excuses with no solutions. I was expecting a delivery, took a day off for that, they told me I could be the first or the last customer because of my location, the entire day waiting and waiting and when I called, the excuse is the fort lift is broken but they didn't have the decency to call and let the client know... and on top of that the guy who answered the phone when I complained he was soooo disrespectful like they don't care a sh... about anything. Worst Customer Service I have ever dealt with. They delivered my order and didn't even tell me there would be missing interior doors until I noticed they were missing from my order. When I addressed it, they told me the doors were on back order. Two weeks later and they still don't have an answer and continue to give me the run around and tell me the following week the doors will arrive. They still have no answers but they have my money. This is a friendly place to come get your supplies the prices are semi-good but the staff is friendly and they're always willing to help you have people outside wall loading the truck so save you time in your in and out in 10 minutes. This place is an excellent source for hardware, doors and lumber. If you do your research and know what you need, you can order over the phone and then pay on via the internet from an email confirmation. Which is what I did to buy 2 sets of bifold doors and some lumber for my deck. The Home Depot did not have the doors in stock in the size I needed. The prices here at Florida Lumber were better and they have free delivery on orders over $100. I believe. The delivery was done within 2 business days to my driveway and the driver was courteous. They called this morning and gave me a 4 hour window for the delivery everything arrived on time and in good shape. read more

Absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with. I ordered impact doors for the front entrance and side garage entrance. Not only did it take 12 weeks for delivery, they never placed the order for the side entrance door. They also never placed the order for the hardware. When the doors were delivered, they didn't fit the frame THEY PROVIDED, and the doors were backwards. We ordered right side outward opening and they gave us left side outward opening. Finally, they didn't even bother to drill out the deadbolt seat in the right door. This company and their customer service are a mess. I couldn't get the answers I needed and the ONLY thing they did correctly was refund me for the hardware I paid for but was not ordered. Thought I'd save some money, but in the end, going to a reputable door company would have been worth the added expense. Lesson learned. read more

They have a great selection and prices but their customer service is awful. I felt like I was burdening the sales associate (who barely spoke English might I add) and I'm still waiting on a price quote after he told me he would have one for me yesterday. Always disappointed when I go to this hardware/lumber yard. I continue to go because they are conveniently located. They are staffed by people who show very little empathy. You need to be a contractor or handyman and know what you need as the employees treat you like an outcast if you don't know what you want or heaven forbid they don't sell what you need. Parking and layout of building confusing to enter , park, find items. Due to covid as of 5/29/2021 you have to form 1 line to get in. I assume it's there business plan which is odd. Showroom dirty , dusty, dated. Good prices vs big box stores. Again I wish my experience was better I would love to support this local business. read more

STAY AWAY from these people. Made a large dollar purchase with them received my delivery and only received half of my doors. Called them to resolve the matter of my missing doors, and they dodged my calls for over 3 days, finally when I got the salesman on the phone "Manny" he told me he would look into it and call me back..waited 2 days no call back...finally got Manny on the phone and he tells me that the order was complete. Are you kidding me! I specifically wrote on my delivery ticket and detailed the doors which were missing, now they are acting like they never received the note. If you are looking for interior doors, Stay away from this place! I purchased my inside doors here, but there were not the quality I expected!! One door was actually damaged, and they do not take any responsibility because it took us more that 48 hours to make the complaint! Door damage could not be seen until installing, but of course they blame it on the installers. I regret so much having chosen this place to purchase the doors just to save a few bucks. The sales person was friendly, but the "manager" incredibly rude!! I still can't believe she is supposed the be the face of customer service. read more

Beware going here. I was given one price by a female sales person and when I showed up to pay, Erik Gulley, a sales associate there gave me a dramatically different price when I was getting ready to pay. When I informed him that the woman had given me another price, he went on to blame the difference in price on things I had clear about when I got the initial pricing. He finally agreed to match the price and then wanted to give me an inferior quality product than what I had initially been quoted for. As I was trying to resolve this, a man paying at a cashier in front of me also caught them charging him for an item at double than what it was marked for. Apparently these price discrepancies is not a one time accurance at this place. So again BEWARE of shopping here! read more

I bought bi-fold doors here and the GM, Gabriel Perez, and he was very helpful and attentive. Not sure why people are complaining about bad service here. I was treated well and in a dignified manner.
