We used this moving company fairly recent and came away with a very bad experience. We had small appliances missing among other medical items which were never recovered or replaced. I find it very dishonest for a company to take someone's belongings and then never make good on replacing the items or compensating them for their loss, moving companies are supposed to be insured and trustworthy. read more

IF YOU ARE A PARENT AND ARE CONSIDERING HIRING THIS COMPANY, PLEASE READ THIS PRIOR TO MAKING A DECISION. DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY FELT LIKE BEING ON AN EPISODE OF THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW. DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES This business sent out one of their employees to perform an on-site assessment of how many hours it would take to complete our move. He took a detailed list of each item and then sent it back to the office for Ruby Atkinson to provide us a quote. We were quoted 6-8 hours @ $150/hour. With materials and all included, it totaled between $1,100 - $1400. 6-8 hours seemed questionable to us, so we asked Ruby Atkinson if we would be charged more if it took longer than expected. She clearly stated multiple times that it would not be any higher than the high end of the estimate (8 hours), and their contract reflects that fact (more on that later). When it was all said and done, they had severely underestimated how long it would take for this move. It ended up totaling 15 1/2 hours. WAY OFF. Ruby Atkinson then tried to charge us more than the 8 hours we were quoted and said we owed $2,300. When I asked how their estimate could be so far off, I was told by one of their employees that they intentionally under-price their estimates so that they don't lose the business to another moving company - knowing all along they will demand you pay more than the highest number they quoted you! HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS Ruby & Chad Atkinson accused us of attempting to scam them (which is ironic), told us we were "completely f***** ridiculous" and then demanded that we pay them even more than what they were already trying to get us to pay ($3,000). BREACH OF CONTRACT Their contract language states that the maximum amount the customer will pay would be "close to the high end of the estimate provided on the contract". I'm sorry, but I don't think any reasonable person thinks $2,300 is "close" to $1,400. I think most people would consider within 10-15% "close". Then Ruby Atkinson started shouting about how "that's only for pack & ship moves" which is where they both pack up and also move your stuff. Well that was not part of our contract, we packed it ourselves (and their employees all said we did way more than what was expected of us) and were not quoted for that service, but that is the contract Ruby Atkinson sent over to us and had us sign. When I pointed this error out, then Chad Atkinson took the most extraordinarily unprofessional step I've ever seen a business take. THREATENING BEHAVIOR TOWARDS FAMILIES In their fit of rage, Chad Atkinson then ordered his employee to send him our address, and screamed at me that he was coming in my house to handle this the illegal way. Excuse me? You're going to barge into my house where my kids are sleeping and handle it "the illegal way"? Sounds to me like you think this is Grand Theft Auto and that you are in the mafia. UNBELIEVABLE! At this point my wife had had enough after an exhausting few days of moving, and wrote them a check for $2,000 just to be done with these maniacs and move on with our lives. Our concern was not about the money, it was about how the owners had deceived us and lied to us just so that they could get the business, and didn't have the integrity to stand by what they had said to us, when they had made a mistake. This business offers nothing unique from other moving companies. I have mixed emotions here. Chad was easy to deal with and actually went out of his way to deliver some shelving that was left on the mover's truck and not delivered. I do not know but believe Chad no longer works for this moving company. The issue is with the new owners. Not only were some pieced broken or damaged but a chair was never delivered. Even after Chad informed me of how my broken lamp would be replaced the new owners stated because I did not pay for additional insurance items would be reimbursed by weight. In simple terms this meant a diamond ring is worth far less than a steel hammer. Anyway my outdoor steel rocker was missing, not damaged. I was told even missing items were not covered. Again in simple terms half of my stuff could go missing and they would pay a few cents per pound. Bottom line is using their, in my opinion unfair practice, they owe me around $44 which they have had several weeks to pay yet I still have not received a penny. Very disappointed I gave them one star because they showed up on time they came to my house packed everything in the truck and they were bringing it a 2 1/2 hour ride to a storage unit which my husband was waiting there for four hours they showed up 6 1/2 hours later each time I called the driver to find out where he was he kept telling me he was an hour away I called the office to find out what was going on left several messages no one called me back to let me know what was happening they finally show up and empty the truck out my boxspring got wet the driver said the truck was leaking more upset that my husband had waited for hours at a storage unit and it took them 6 1/2 half hours to get there on a 2 1/2 hour drive they claim it was the rain but my husband drove there also in the rain it wasn't that bad I called the office several times and no one answered left several messages on the machine still to this day no one has called me to ask me how my experience was no one even tried to call us from the office to let us know what was happening the only time the office ever called was to get payment I would never recommend them very bad experience I've moved several times and I've never had an experience like this I am definitely going back to commercial movers with larger trucks I've never had a bad experience with them read more

Ruby, Chad, and their entire team were absolutely nothing but wonderful in helping my classroom move a swift and well organized one. From beginning to end they were extremely prompt, professional and very polite. Moving 20 years of classroom materials and the textbooks that go along would be about the size of a two bedroom apartment. Considering the generosity extended to me in pricing, I was very concerned it would be a bit much, but the guys got it done within 30 minutes while also extending the help to other teachers moving as well. My wife and I just bought a new house, and we were REALLY nervous about someone handling our stuff. We've had really bad experiences with moving companies in the past. We ended up going with Florida Main movers, and they did an absolutely outstanding job! The owners are good, honest, people who take pride in their work. Its nice to see that there are still people that help you along the way, when you hire them for their services. They treated us like family and for that, we are so thankful. Hopefully, I do not have to ever move out of my dream home, but if I do, it will be Florida Main getting my business. read more

We had a terrible experience with this company. My girlfriend scheduled them to move her household goods from one location to the other and they set a time to show up between 9AM and 10AM in the morning. It was supposed to storm by noon so we thought this was perfect timing and that everything would be moved before the rain got here since it was not much stuff to move. We moved it ourselves the first time but since it was raining every few hours we decided to hire movers to move it faster this time. So we drove to the location at 830AM and waited for them until 950AM at which point my girlfriend called them to make sure that they were going to show up by 10AM. Instead of simply saying they were running late and apologizing for being behind schedule, the movers disrespected my girlfriend and basically told her to just deal with it, that they were at least 40min out, and that her only option was to just be patient and wait for them to arrive. After hearing that, I called the owner and told the owner that her movers had been completely disrespectful and that we were just going to move the stuff ourselves. Once again, instead of trying to fix the situation the owner immediately stated that the deposit was non-refundable despite the fact that it was completely her company that was at fault. So then I go online to get the address to confront these people in person and come to find out their address is fake (125 S Parsons Ave, Brandon, FL 33511), their 5 star Google reviews are probably fake (all the fake reviews are within 30 days of each other), and the movers were probably late because they probably weren't even coming from Brandon. There is nowhere in Brandon that is 40 minutes away. Which explains the $100.00 "fuel charge" they were going to charge us despite the move only being 13 miles. In the end this company did us a favor, we ended up moving on our own for a total of $140.00 using UHaul vs. the nearly $1000 we were probably going to pay these people and it only took us 3hrs, it did not even rain while we were moving. So call up some friends, hire another company, do whatever you need to do to move your stuff, but the one thing you cannot do is say you were not warned. read more

From the moment I contacted Ruby to book to obtain a quote, Florida Main Movers gave me the best customer service I have received in a long time! Ruby was always helpful and reassuring, even with several changes on my end! Chad and Jesse, arrived promptly, worked steadily and in no time my things were loaded on the truck. At the new place, same thing! Always pleasant as well! Even put together my bedframe! And the cost? I chose them for the great reviews and they were one of the lowest priced but was even more surprised and pleased that they charged even less than the quote because it didn't take that long since I didn't have that much to move! Who does that? I am very appreciative since I can use that money with all the other expenses I have from moving.
