My knee pain required an MRI and they wouldn't schedule it for me because it had to be done at a hospital because of my pacemaker. With lack of RX and other information, it took 2 1/2 weeks to find a hospital and another 2 weeks for the test while I was in pain. No information on what to take for pain or how to relieve pain. Dr. Kannen is not very explanatory as to what's going on. He sent me to physical therapy and when asked if I needed more therapy he said to ask the therapist and the therapist said to ask the doctor!!???? read more

I wish I would have seen these reviews before your there for my hip replacement! I gave them a raving review at first before the medical bills came in and found out their communication stinks! I got stuck with almost a three thousand dollar bill and they couldn't even explain why! So just ignore the review I gave them and do your homework! I thought I did! At one point Christina told me she would see if Dr Christian would take care of it, to lie and say she never said that to me! Really? My appointment was at 3, I arrived at 245, sat in office unspoken to until I approached the desk at 330 and was told I was next. 3 more patients entered the building, checked in and then were seen. At 345 I asked again and I was told I was put last. The snarky young lady at the desk continued to make rude comments as I walked away because I asked if I was 45 minutes late would they have cancelled my appointment and advised that my time is important. It's 355 and I am still sitting here. The waiting room was completely packed when I got here and they easily moved everyone in and out while telling me I was intentionally put last. read more

I had an utterly disappointing experience at this clinic, where profit seems to take precedence over patient care. As a referral from the VA, I expected professional and attentive service, but what transpired was quite the contrary. Upon my arrival for an appointment aimed at reviewing my MRI results, I was met with a significant delay in the waiting room. The first thing I was asked after being called was to follow the staff member to get my "elbow x-rays done", despite having already had an inconclusive x-ray at an urgent care and subsequently getting an MRI, which I had the report for, the staff inexplicably insisted on another round of x-rays. The clinic seems to have a blanket policy of insisting on x-rays for all patients, regardless of necessity, possibly as a revenue-generating tactic. The head nurse repeated several times that "Dr. Pappou won't see patients without imaging". Do you think that came up in their 20-30 minute intake form? Nope. I'm a new patient, was this brought up as an issue at the front desk when I checked in? Nope. The dismissive attitude of the staff, including what seemed like the head nurse, was disconcerting. Even after explaining my previous inconclusive x-rays, which was the reason behind the MRI, they doggedly stuck to their baseless argument that an additional x-ray was essential for diagnosing issues like a potential "bone spur"--ignoring the superior diagnostic capabilities of the MRI. None of them asked when the injury occurred, when the prior round of x-rays and MRI were done OR to see the MRI report. Even if there was a possible legitimate reason for x-rays it is inconceivable that they could arrive at that conclusion without learning fact 1 about me. It felt as though their priority was billing the VA by administering unnecessary procedures rather than providing thoughtful and customized patient care. The entire experience seemed reflective of a disreputable practice that lacked both empathy and professionalism. read more

Five star for outstanding caring and service. MJ was awesome. She made me feel like a valued patient. Dr. Grayson was fantastic. Compared to my previous doctor who was clueless. I was given shots that took away my pain. Dr. Grayson took time to explain what I needed to do to move forward in terms that I understood. He took his time with me and I felt that he really cared. If you looking for a orthopedic doctor Florida Institute and Dr. Grayson is the only way to go. I highly recommend him and the staff at the institute. read more

Worst back office and customer support that I've ever dealt with in a healthcare industry. When you call when you can't get anyone on the phone. Nobody returns voicemails. The office manager is no help. I'll be trying to reach the people that actually make money from this office and let them know that the people they have in place do not do their job and have any procedures in place to keep things moving smoothly and correctly. One is being generous! Absolute worst customer service and you can't call into the place. I am waiting on forms for my first appointment that should have been here 5 days before my appointment by email and 3 days before my by text! I go neither!!! They have my email as the sent me a link to create my account! All calls end up in voicemail jail, and I just had a recording tell me they were transferring me to someone and it disconnected!!! Really??? Have wasted 3 hours with this! Worst ever customer service I have ever had and I deal with the VA!! ( who have been great in recent years) read more

Amazing how you're scheduled in the first appointment of the day and you're left sitting and waiting for 40 minutes watching the doctor go in and out of other rooms. I finally left without even seeing the doctor. Thought Dr. Pappou would be the answer to my wrist problems but the search is on again. Won't go back to this group. read more

If I could give negative stars I would..... watch your billing! My daughter had a stress fracture, diagnosed by Dr. Grayson. Put her on crutches, casually mentioned surgery might be an option months down the road. The following day I was able to get her back with original orthopedic and called Grayson's office and cancelled her follow up appointment. Next thing I know he has billed my insurance $1,803 for post-surgery treatment. We had one consult obvioiusly no surgery and he billed insurance anyway!! I had to contact 5 people and argue my point, get legal representation, and only then did he admit to his error. "If I had know you would have to pay out of pocket I wouldn't have billed so much"! What the heck???? Anyway.... stay clear of this guy and this office. Very unprofessional office staff and the doctor seemed a little shady. read more

I had a total knee replacement of my right knee by Dr Grayson at Florida Hospital North Pinellas on December 30, 2016. I couldn't be happier. I had therapy in the hospital for two days, had in home therapy for two weeks and then went to the Palm Harbor location for 4 weeks of additional therapy. I was back to my volunteer job at the hospital by February. I was very satisfied with my surgery done by Dr Grayson. People couldn't believe how well I was doing after two months. Walking up a flight of 12 steps at my house once or twice a day without any problems. I would highly recommend Dr Grayson and Florida Orthopedic institute. If I ever need my left knee done that's where I would go and Dr Grayson would be my go to doctor! read more

Horrible, horrible billing practices & I have private employer insurance! I had knee replacement surgery in Nov. 2021. Day before surgery their billing department calls me demanding $1,500.00 even though my insurance copay is only $200.00 for outpatient surgery. The person who called said they would not operate unless I paid. Seriously--hours before my surgery? In 2022 they keep billing me for $2,253.28. On their bills, they state my insurance company has denied claims--but these claims are still pending for payment by BCBS-SC. They are also billing me for balances after my insurance company paid them negotiated service rates & I paid my copays. My employer is involved helping resolve this issues but I will never step foot in their office again! Dr. Grayson was great on my knee replacement--but again their billing department is horrible!!!!!! I work in the insurance industry and what they are doing is just WRONG, WRONG & MORE WRONG. read more

I don't have the words to express enough gratitude for Dr Pappou. I was at a loss after a nasty hand laceration from a saw. Everywhere I turned there was no solution and certainly no Dr willing or able to do the repair for my hand... 4 emergency room visits later I was connected w Dr Pappou. From the minute he introduces himself to you until he leaves the room...it is crystal clear that you have his undivided attention, and better yet WITHOUT the iconic God complex EVERY other ortho I have dealt with thruout my life. He makes sure you know exactly what he is going to do. He NEVER makes you feel you are asking too many or stupid questions. He really seems to focus on educating you which is simple yet brilliant ...the basic and fundamental service that if other doctors/surgeons did the same for their patients ....I am confident it would eliminate probably 80 percent of ALL Dr /Patient issues. I spent over 2 weeks with 4 ER visits and a massive infection after my initial injury.....at no point during that ENTIRE TIME did ANY of the doctors/pa's I saw (approx 12 plus) ever TELL me ANYTHING...EXPLAIN ANYTHING ...didn't answer my questions, didn't tell me what my options were or if I even had any, didn't discuss w me the likelihood of success with any option. I literally got one and only one statement from everyone...your tendons are severed, we are obligated to help you; but we aren't, we won't fix that...NO JOKE! then enters Dr Pappou. He is AMAZING! I knew exactly what to expect and he went out of his way to make it possible for me to have the surgery asap! He's also perfectionist....amazing education and countless forms of recognition/publications/certifications to attest to his high level of skill. It'sobvious that he genuinely loves what he does and actually CARES for his patients....I think the rest of the world has forgotten this is healthCARE...too many dr's have either become emotionless robots or gotten just plain greedy. The entire staff at this facility is amazing....everywhere you look you can see the effects of having a compassionate physician/surgeon leading and setting the example of how healthCARE should be. Every person there you can clearly see ...they WANT to be there and it's because of Dr Pappou...he treats all of them with kindness and respect...and guess what..... the entire building is overflowing with it. And last but certainly not LEAST... the complainers of the wait times??? would you rather zip in and out in 20 minutes just to get home and realize you have no idea what's wrong or how it's getting fixed? who's going to answer your questions now? please understand that each and every person that walks thru those doors is going to get that same undivided attention as you did...same commitment and he WILL NOT LET you leave the room until you are comfortable with what the plan is...and how its going to be carried out... which includes you being as committed as he is to your surgery success...and he will make you commit to that. literally the BEST ORTHO ON THE PLANET. read more

Dr. Pappou and his staff are wonderful! I had the misfortune of breaking both of my arms in an accident - Dr. Pappou operated on November 3, 2018. It's only February, 2019 and I'm 100% back to my old-self. The Physical Therapy staff (Morgan and Greg) were very compassionate, knowledgeable, and positive.
