Surgery is the only option and my research on Google concluded that insurance coverage for surgical correction of gynecomastia was almost impossible. I consulted with three plastic surgeons who quoted very high rates and, as expected, no one mentioned the possibility of insurance coverage. I had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Kotick last and, not only did he and his team make me feel very comfortable with their recommendation, but recommended that we try to get the surgery covered by insurance. Imagine my surprise when Dr. Kotick got an approval for what I guess was a male mastectomy or the equivalent thereof. What was truly incredible was that he got this covered even though I had no underlying condition accompanying my worsening man-boobs. This doctor has tremendous reconstructive surgery skills and an excellent bedside manner. In addition to being quite pleased with the outcome, I had very little pain during recovery. I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone needing this specialty.

Avoid Dr. Anna Widmyer and LWR Plastic Surgery!!!…read more July, 3, 2025 I underwent an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) mastopexy (breast lift) and augmentation (implants) with Dr. Anna Widmyer. While I am satisfied with my tummy tuck results, my breast surgery outcome was devastating. Within six months, my breasts were sagging again, implants are sitting way too low, my areolas had stretched, and I was left with noticeable asymmetry from different-sized implants, this was her decision. (I was a D-long, now I'm a DD-long) Despite specifically discussing a rounder, perkier appearance, not larger breasts, I never achieved the result I was hoping for. (For the first few months, I looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger with "pecs"instead of feminine round breasts you typically see with implants.) At my six-month follow-up, Dr. Widmyer agreed I needed another lift and revision surgery. Instead of feeling reassured that the problem would be corrected, each consultation left me more confused, frustrated, and discouraged. Dr. Widmyer was giving me options that were "easiest" for her and not the best options to achieve the look and longevity I originally envisioned. (I had multiple consultations with other surgeons to learn what the best revision approach would be for my body.) After three consultations with Dr.Widmyer I still did not have a clear surgical plan. My questions were met with resistance rather than clarity, and I felt like my concerns were viewed as an inconvenience rather than valid concerns from a patient who had invested well over $20,000 in her care. Dr. Widmyer is very egotistical and does not like being held accountable or called out for things she's said. She will shift the blame to you as the patient and provide every excuse possible, your body heals differently, skin elasticity, weight fluctuation. She claimed "I gained weight" yet never once did they document my weight or basic vitals. She said the "dog ear" on my hip is from the drain not from the incision where she ended the tummy tuck. (Nice one, my drains came from above my pubic bone.) She thinks patients are stupid and can't see through her BS! You will notice a vastly different experience with the consultation process, compared to other professional surgeons. You are not provided a gown or privacy to change, you are expected to change in front of whoever is in the room at the time, my last appointment it was the receptionist who was training! The lack of communication, accountability and documentation is extremely concerning. (They do not take notes and leave out extremely important details that were discussed.)I requested written clarification of my revision plan to avoid misunderstandings, she then canceled my revision surgery and all future appointments. (She actually did me a huge favor, I was delusional for considering a revision with her). As a local business owner myself, I had regrettably referred multiple patients to this practice overtime, all of whom have shared their concerns and dissatisfaction with their surgical outcomes. This experience was one of the most expensive, disappointing and emotionally draining experiences I have ever gone through. Cosmetic surgery requires an enormous amount of trust. Looking back, I wish I had sought multiple opinions BEFORE my original procedure, I should've asked a million in-depth questions and ensured every detail was documented in writing. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Widmyer or Lakewood Ranch Plastic Surgery. I look forward to finding a surgeon who takes pride in their work and profession! I usually have a $25 co pay for specialists. I paid that at the front door back in May. Then I paid off their lab net of insurance. Then the lab later sends me a bill for another $25 co pay even though I never visited them and even though they already got paid. That $25 should have been included in their first bill that went to the insurer. Makes me wonder if the lab is being cute with the insurer for more money by calling it a co pay. It's not worth my time - I paid the bill. But next time I try a different dermatologist.

I had a treatment done on my face, which I had done many times with other providers and never had any issues. The day after the procedure I had burns and blisters all over my face, which became infected. Francesca, purposely burned my face, and gave me 3rd degree burns. After the procedure, she asked if I was allergic to Sulfa, which is used for burns, I'm allergic to it, and I wasn't given an alternative prescription until 5 days later, and if she had bothered to look in my file, she would have seen that I was allergic to it. Dr Lackey is no better, he can't tell the difference between an infection and an allergic reaction, and relies on cultures, which don't always work. After seeing them for a month, I wasn't improving, I had to go to a dermatologist, as soon as he saw me, he gave me all the proper medications. The dermatologist confirmed everything Dr. Lackey and Francesca prescribed me and were telling me to do was wrong. Because of the burns I have an inch long scar on one side of my face, a ¼ inch scar on the other side, and a 1/2 inch scar on my chin. The shape of my nose has changed, and my face will never look the same. Save yourself the grief and misery and go to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who are properly trained, I wish I had. Also, their vein treatments are not effective, they wrap you in an ace bandage afterword, that does nothing, every other provider uses compressions stockings after sclerotherapy treatments. Their total business in a scam, and takes advantage of patients, this business, along with all four of their locations should be shut down.
