I'm so glad I finally did the Living Water Boat Cruises pontoon tour--it gave me an entirely different perspective on the area. One of the highlights for me was cruising past the former Cypress Gardens property, now part of LEGOLAND. I remember visiting Cypress Gardens as a child, so it was fascinating and nostalgic to see the property from the water, including the historic Florida-shaped swimming pool that is being restored and the beautiful old Florida vegetation. Our captain and guide, Sage, was excellent. She is also a Florida native and was extremely knowledgeable about the local history, the lakes, and the wildlife. During the tour we saw ospreys, otters, an alligator, and many different birds. We even got to watch floatplanes landing and taking off on the lakes, which was an unexpected treat. We toured the southern portion of the Chain of Lakes early in the morning, which was perfect because it was an extremely hot Florida day with temperatures expected in the 90s. The timing made the trip very comfortable and enjoyable. I especially appreciated that I happened to be the only guest on my tour and they still accommodated me rather than canceling. It ended up feeling like a wonderful private tour. This was such an enjoyable way to experience a part of Florida that I had never really seen before, despite growing up here. That's what made my experience on the Norwegian Prima out of Port Canaveral so disappointing. This wasn't just my worst Norwegian cruise, it was the worst cruise I've ever taken. I'll start with the positive: embarkation was fast, organized, and painless. Unfortunately, that's where the consistency ended. From the moment we boarded, it felt like Norwegian wanted to nickel-and-dime us at every turn. I've never paid so much for a vacation only to feel like I was constantly being asked to spend more. The Prima is a beautiful ship, but it's all style and very little substance. Entertainment was repetitive, activities overlapped, and unless your idea of fun is listening to live music all day or playing TikTok-style games, there wasn't much to justify the premium price. The ship felt better suited for seniors and young children than adults looking for an engaging vacation. Housekeeping was another huge disappointment. Our room steward, Ewe, was inattentive and forgetful. My shower leaked for the entire cruise, towels weren't consistently replaced, and the sheets were rarely changed. I didn't pay for some "Sail & Sustain" experiment. I paid for daily cabin service. Please come change my sheets. The food and drinks were wildly inconsistent. I ordered medium steaks and received hockey pucks. I ordered whiskey sours and somehow they tasted either like watered-down disappointment or liquid diabetes. Every bar and restaurant seemed to have its own interpretation of the same menu. The most concerning experience happened in Commodore, where I was subjected to racial comments from a chef. Management's response was underwhelming and left me feeling dismissed instead of valued. Rochelle, this is where you come in. I spoke with so many managers and Guest Services staff throughout the week that people probably thought I worked there. Every conversation ended with an apology, but almost nothing changed. At some point, "I'm sorry" becomes meaningless if there's no action behind it. The staff overall seemed incredibly inexperienced. I lost count of how many crew members openly admitted they were new or didn't know the answer to basic questions. Communication was another issue. Many employees simply smiled, couldn't understand the request, and handed me off to someone else. While I understand cruise ships employ an international crew, guests should still be able to receive effective service. I also experienced several uncomfortable interactions where I felt I was treated poorly by members of the Asian crew. Whether intentional or not, after enough encounters it became impossible to ignore. The ports weren't much better. Every destination felt like the same four souvenir stores copied and pasted into a different country. There was very little that made any stop feel unique. This was also supposed to be a group cruise, yet I never once spoke with our group consultant, Kolya. Multiple calls and voicemails went unanswered, forcing me to piece together my own reservation outside the group. I usually sail from Miami, but I drove the extra distance to Port Canaveral expecting the Prima to be worth it. It wasn't. By the end of the cruise, I wasn't sad it was over. I was relieved. I've never been happier to get off a ship. What frustrated me most is that I know Norwegian can do better because I've experienced it on ships like the Bliss and Breakaway. The Prima simply didn't deliver the level of service, quality, or consistency I've come to expect from Norwegian. I'm glad I've used all but $75.25 of my CruiseNext credits because this sailing has seriously made me question whether I'll cruise Norwegian again. I don't want another generic corporate apology thanking me for my feedback. I want accountability. I want better training. I want consistency. Unfortunately, this vacation felt more like work than a vacation, and that's not why anyone books a cruise. After this experience, I'm genuinely considering whether it's time to try another cruise line altogether. One star.

We went on a 8 hours excursion with my son and dad and it was an experience of a lifetime. Capt Jared talked us through what kind of fishing we would be doing and where we would go. He had a loose plan for the day, based on the tides, weather, etc. We were not disappointed. We were on fish within 10 minutes of leaving the dock, and it really didn't stop all day. We fished docks early, then some oyster beds, small islands, then out to some reefs, the sand key jetty, then back to docks to finish up. We caught some of everything (black drum, sheepshead, a flounder!, red fish, mangrove snapper, a shark, snook, and trout). Many were not keepers, but we did pretty well. I think we took home 11 keepers, after catching about 50 fish (we kind of lost count). If we didn't have any luck in a spot, we moved on pretty quickly. He seemed to know the patterns intimately. He was such a good guide. He truly wants people of have a great fishing experience. He was disappointed that he couldn't have gotten us more fish (he highly recommends the spring season). We were happy with our experience. NOTE: If you are staying local, there is a place in Ozone (Molly Goodheads) that will prepare your fish. I've had the engine serviced and new upholstery, as well as other trim work repaired. the upholstery looks perfect, and as if is a brand new boat. I'm in the process of having it detailed and polished as well. the marina puts your boat into the water for you, cleans it when you return from your ride, and puts it back into storage. so convenient! I highly recommend them to anyone who would like to store their boat in dry dock with all conveniences.

One star. I trusted Riverview Marina with my boat, and my final launch there was the worst…read moreexperience. The side and rear camper enclosure windows were removed and tossed in the cabin instead of reinstalled, leaving the boat exposed. Rain got in and ruined my registration, insurance papers, and other documents. Medications got soaked and stained the captain's seat. That damage was preventable. Personal gear also disappeared. My docking boat hook and two dock lines were taken off my boat without permission. Crystal said they had the hook. It was never returned, and neither were the lines. I ended up replacing gear that never should have been taken. Billing was also an issue. The final amount was much higher than the quote, and I never received a clear, itemized invoice. JR installed my windlass, but the chain constantly jammed. Another mechanic later had to remove and reinstall it properly and said it was one of the worst installs he'd seen. The adjustment wrench was never returned. At the work rack, the extension cord for customer use had exposed live wire. When I flagged it, it was brushed off like it was nothing. There was also only one ladder for access; if the mechanic was using it, you couldn't even reach your boat. That's a safety and access failure. And when the office closed at 5 p.m., there was no restroom access. After all this, I was told someone would call me back. That call never came. Boaters should note that depending on tide and draft, getting out at low tide can be difficult or impossible. I expected basic competence and respect for my boat. Instead, I got damage, risks, and excuses. Boaters deserve better.
