It took me a couple of months to write this review because I feel guilty about it, but in the end I decided I may be able to prevent someone else from having the same awful experience with Dr. Enman. Previously I saw the amazing and incomparable Dr. Melissa Lafleur but she moved to east Tampa and the commute was too far for me. I have ADHD, allergies, migraines, etc. Normal stuff, nothing out of the ordinary. Upon entering the room Dr. Enman was incredibly rude, and stunningly dismissive. I am upfront with my Dr.'s - I ask them questions on the first visit to see how they work best with their patients, and what their strengths and weaknesses are etc. To be clear, I am not questioning their credentials, I am examining to see if we will work well together as a team taking care of this flesh sack that is my body. (I am also evaluating to see if they listen well.) When I asked Dr. Enman these questions in a polite and friendly way, and explained why I ask them she was incredibly rude in response. She told me that she was a doctor and if I didn't "Trust her judgement I was free to find another doctor" and that we "did not have to proceed with the appointment." I tried to explain that it was not her judgement I was asking about, but just the way she worked to see if we would mesh. I said "let's proceed with appointment and see how it goes." Spoiler, it did not go well. While reviewing my medications she asked me why I take Adderall. I told her I have severe ADHD and was diagnosed as a kid and have had updated diagnosis as an adult. She informed me that "people grow out of ADHD.". I told her that that was in fact misinformation and according to thousands of adults with ADHD, psychiatry, and the most recent DSM, adults do in fact, have ADHD. She asked me who my psychiatrist was and I told her I was on a wait list to see someone covered by my insurance. She asked me how I got my medication and I told her my previous PCP provided the prescription for it as she had been provided with the results and recommendation for it by the Adderall by the nuro-psychologist who evaluated me as an adult. Dr. Enman said, and I quote " I will not prescribe that. It's too much of a liability for me." I told her I was about to run out and on a wait list to see a psychiatrist who specialized in adults with nuro-divergence. She LITERALLY shrugged and said "oh well, moving on.". WTAF She asked me why I take an anti-nausea. I told her because I get migraines. She asked me "What does nausea have to do with migraines?" I blinked and explained that nausea was a common side effect of migraines. Dr. Enman told me she had never heard of that before. I became annoyed and told her she could Google it and would see that nausea is a VERY common side effect of migraines. She informed me she would not prescribe my migraine medicine or the anti-nausea medicine and I would have to see a neurologist for that. I told her I had an appointment with one but it wasn't for another 3 months and that I was out of migraine meds. AGAIN she said "oh well, I won't prescribe that." I asked her what I should do if I get a migraine, she just shrugged. When I told her that I felt like she was going out of her way to not help me, she told me that she likes to keep her "liability low". At that point I realized I would never, ever come back. I would rather eat fungus infected toenails than ever go back to Dr. Enman again. We finished up the appointment by having her listen to my heart and check other vitals. When she listened to my heart she noticed the murmur I have. She insisted on doing an EKG. At checkout I asked for a copy of the EKG and was told the results were in the system. I told her that unless I could take the system home with me I would like a copy. She argued with me for a bit and then finally told he staff to give me a copy and then We finished up the appointment by having her listen to my heart and check other vitals. After not being to the doctor in many years - I decided to get a physical and make sure nothing is horribly wrong. 100% preventative care visit. Had my first visit on Nov 4th. All that was done was scheduling blood work, colonoscopy and an EKG. Blood work was completed Nov 11th. Had a follow up Jan 5th to discuss blood work results. The office is making up false claims that this follow up for my bloodwork isn't preventative care and is instead an office visit. I'm being charged money out of pocket that should 100% be under my insurance as preventative care. I've filed a complaint with BBB. All I want is for the office to be honest and change my visit to a follow up which is all it was.

My first visit was in September with Dr. Cooper and extremely successful from security through admitting through transport to pre op to PACU to post op just as this surgery most recently in November. When entering the hospital, you can feel the sense that all staff are fully knowledgeable of the COVID guidelines and abide by them. This makes the patient feel comfortable with the cleanliness surrounded by them. All staff that I have interacted with during my surgeries have been professional, attentive, skilled. Since I have already posted about the first surgery I will comment on my most recent surgery. The staff beginning with the greeters to admitting all wonderful. Fe and Lisa got me on my way in preop to the anesthesiologist who was comforting due to his laid back personality. The PACU gang were also awesome Ginny C, GG, Marcella. Thank you so much for putting up with me. Erin and Jason getting me on my way to walking. Jessica was welcoming. I must give a huge thank you to Patricia and Carolos on the night shift. They were so helpful and understanding as the anesthesia worked double time of me. I have no words to express my appreciation of getting me through the night. I don't think I was this nicest patient in the middle of the night. Jessica C discharged me in a professional manner due to me probably not being the nicest patient when she did report from the nights shift. Kudos to all and MPH is fortunate to have each and everyone of you.

I saw him again on 08/02/2023 based upon a referral from my primary physician. I've been having some very unsettling and worsening symptoms associated with my back and, following an MRI, the radiologist determined that I have a 'tethered cord' and that I needed to be seen by a neurosurgeon. Not knowing what 'tethered cord' meant, I did a fair amount of Google research, which explained the signs/symptoms, and I truly checked the boxes. Also, to be fair, it wasn't entirely on Dr. Mickler; his PA Edouardo set the tone from the very first 10 seconds that he entered the exam room and asked me why I was there. I replied that I was referred by my doctor to which he said, "Okay, but why are you here?" Fair enough, so I told him that I understood that I have a tethered cord and was following up to see what could be done about it.Then, he said, "What does that mean?" By this point, I'm starting to get annoyed. It's one thing to try to coax information from a patient so you know what's going on but it's entirely another to be condescending and impatient to the point that the patient feels like you are not only wasting your time but that Edouardo certainly feels like you are wasting his. Since I didn't seem to have the right answers, he came right out and said, "I saw your MRI and your spine looks beautiful." Puzzled, I mentioned that I saw the MRI report and I didn't get the same impression. I'm not a doctor, nor a PA, but I do know how to read and I am confident that I have as much, if not more, education than Edouardo. When I mentioned that I saw the MRI report and that I saw the actual words 'tethered cord' on the report, Edouardo's exact response was, "Well, that's just the radiologist's interpretation." Oh, sorry, I thought that was the radiologist's actual job. I'm not going to provide the name of the radiologist, who completed my report but, if your initials are M.T. F. and you work for Baycare Imaging, you might want to dust off those credentials and ask Edouardo for a side by side comparison, or, at the very least, watch your back and know that he finds your reports insignificant and has no problem sharing that with patients. Edouardo steps out for a minute to fetch Dr. Mickler, who was probably hoping he could avoid this scheduled appointment but Edouardo let him down. Dr. Mickler shakes my hand, asks me some questions about my symptoms, mentions that my spine looked "beautiful" (crazy how he used the exact same word as Edouardo) and asked me if I had seen a neurologist. I hadn't because who knew you couldn't trust the radiologist? My bad. After spending his allotted 2 minutes with me, Dr. Mickler again shook my hand and told Edouardo to get me a referral to a neurologist. I left and I have since gotten a referral for a neurologist from another doctor. Have my symptoms continued or gotten worse? Yes. Do I believe that Edouardo or Dr. Mickler care? No. I believe that had either of them cared, even a little bit, they would have listened to me, heard me, and, even if they thought there was nothing they could do for me, they would have taken me seriously at least to the point of explaining their interpretation of the same MRI that led 2 other doctors to a different conclusion and, I would have walked away from the appointment feeling like I mattered. Like a couple of egos weren't poo-pooing my legitimate concerns and mansplaining to me why my symptoms couldn't possibly have anything to do with the radiologist's "interpretation" of my MRI. I'm no PA nor am I a highly paid neurosurgeon but, I am a person. I am a patient. I should not feel like $$$ signs or, in this case, lack of $$$ signs and not worth their time. If you are a patient, advocate for yourself and know you are worth the time.
