Years ago I went to her office…read morefor a simple cavity filling and I had a nerve get hit and caused me to be in severe pain and needing a root canal. When it came down to correcting this mistake Karen Mills attempted to but was literally unable to perform routine Root Canal. She had me come back and forth to her office for over 3 months! I missed so much work(3 months) because I was in so much pain and had to keep taking off. Then after 3 months Karen Mills finally decides to refer me to someone who actually knew how to perform a Root Canal. I didn't even know that was an option or I would have ask her to do that after a few weeks. Why did I have to go through all that pain for all those months for Karen Mills to experiment on me knowing she didn't have the skills to do a routine /basic root canal. I finally got the problem taken care of in a matter of minutes by an endodontist. After speaking with him I found out that a lot of dentists(including Karen Mills) don't use a Dental Dam(mouthpiece in mouth) when performing root canals and is suppose to prevent materials from going in area where tooth is. Karen Mills didn't use a Dental Dam and that's what caused me all that chaos. After I found this out I had no choice but to report her to the Georgia Board Of Denistry. They found Karen Mills negligent and she was forced to go through more training and fined $1000.00. Nothing for the victim. Hmm To add salt to the wound, when I requested Karen Mills reimburse me for all the work I missed(let alone all the pain I suffered)due to her negligence, she basically told me "NO." I only wish I had did my homework before I let Karen Mills get near my mouth. People please read reviews. I wish I had

Unfortunately, that also means there aren't really any other options for care under this insurance. The provider and level of care are adequate. My main frustration is with the cancellation policy. It's quite strict and doesn't allow for any flexibility in the case of last-minute emergencies. I've been behind on scheduling my cleanings because I don't have backup childcare, and I know their policy is a $50 cancellation fee, which I have had to pay in the past. Still, since I was overdue, I went ahead and booked an appointment. Of course, the night before, my child started feeling sick. I could not send her to school with a fever and had no option but to cancel my appointment. I learned the fee has increased to $75. Now I'm not sure when I can reschedule, because I can't risk being charged again if something unexpected happens. It's disappointing, especially for families who may not have flexible childcare or for patients who genuinely can't control emergencies.

Yes, a dentist named Whitener...ironic! Not only was I seen the same day I called, even when they were only working a half day, but I was treated with something I've never experienced before in a dental office-compassion. Just like the other review, I too was scared of needless and the jiggle of the cheek was just what I needed. Unfortunately, I got dry socket after my tooth was pulled and not only did I turn in to a big emotional baby, but I was seen 4 additional times in the office and each time I was welcomed with a hug and compassion. Andie, his assistant has a quick wit, was very gentle and explained everything that was going on so I was not surprised or scared. I loved the fun conversation we had and the banter over college football...even though she is an LSU fan! I recommend Dr. Whitener to anyone that needs a cleaning, brightening or dental work. He is an amazingly talented doctor and is the only dentist I trust.

I was able to use my insurance as well so my actual out of pocket was just over $100. While at Kennesaw Mountain they told me I needed two crowns for the two root canals I had done at the Endo. The Endo recommended a crown and a filling, (one tooth was cracked), Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates told me I actually needed two crowns to the tune of almost $3,000. Come to find out I didn't actually need two crowns. The recommendation from the Endo was correct, all I needed was a crown and a filling this is after both dentists at my new dentist looked at the root canals done by my Endo. So in addition to being rude and lazy, they are also trying to over charge by pushing unnecessary dental procedures. Be very careful if you visit Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates. Make sure you reach out to your insurer prior to your visit and check your coverage or they may try what they tried with me and tell you that you don't have coverage. Also if they recommend a procedure don't hesitate to hit pause, take few days and get a second opinion. It could save you thousands of dollars.

Multiple BILLING ISSUES: I've been a patient at Atlanta West Dentistry for over five years…read more Initially, I was very pleased with their services the staff seemed professional, the reviews were great, and the dental work met my expectations. However, over time, I've encountered multiple ongoing billing issues that have ultimately led to my decision to leave this practice. One of the main issues involved overcharges of hundreds of dollars, primarily by front desk staff (specifically Hailey). These discrepancies were only corrected after I contested the charges using my Explanation of Benefits (EOB). While I appreciated that some credits were eventually applied to my account, these errors continued to occur raising serious concerns about accuracy and transparency. Even after addressing previous issues, the same pattern repeated. I strongly recommend that anyone receiving treatment here carefully review their EOBs and compare them to what they are being charged out-of-pocket. On one occasion, I was told I had fillings done on both tooth #2 and #5, yet I clearly remember work being done only on tooth #2. Despite voicing this, I was still billed for both. When I requested clarification, Robin attempted to explain the charges, but they still did not align with what was billed to my insurance provider. This experience has not only been frustrating but has also led me to question the integrity of some of the billing and treatment practices. It's deeply disappointing after years of being a loyal patient. As a result, I will no longer be returning to Atlanta West Dentistry, and I will be transferring the care of my entire family elsewhere. I'm also advising anyone I previously referred to this practice to check their billing statements closely or consider other options. I hope this review serves as a helpful warning for others to be vigilant and protect themselves from potential overcharges or miscommunication. Look at the details of what was billed to my insurance and then to me out of pocket. I am really considering taking them to small claims court and reporting them to the Board
