I was relieved to find a florist able to deliver the day before Mothers day. Confidant about the online reviews. Pleased they delivered on time. However, I am highly dissatisfied at the type of bouquet $70.00 (plus tax, deliver AND TIP) total of $113.00 bought from this florist. Since I am out of state I didn't have much to go by in deciding the best place to order from so I just went with Flower City. I order flowers quite a bit in the Los Angeles/Orange County market and there is a premium you pay since most things are expensive. I completely expected that it wasn't going to be their very best and perhaps my order would look for like a $50 bouquet but this was more like the $18 set you pick up at your local grocer thrown in a vase! Displeased!! No wonder why executing this order delivery was a breeze for this establishment- not much effort and options. Now I feel so bad I am looking for another place to deliver whatbi feelings a bouquet any Morher deserves on Morhers Day. We needed a casket spray for my brother in law who passed away very unexpected. I had looked around online and discovered that these can be quite expensive. Chose here as I've always wanted to stop in and see what flower city had to offer. The lady who helped us when we went into the shop was very sweet and kind. We explained our situation and told her what my sister would like to have for her husbands casket spray, and also discussed what we could afford to pay. The florist agreed to work within our budget, using our choice of flowers and even waived the delivery fee (as funeral home was quite close by). It was delivered on time, and what arrived was more than we expected. We were very pleased with the size of the spray as we expected it to perhaps be smaller than most but it was full and wonderful, and stuffed with roses and lilies. Beautiful premium grade flowers, good quality and very fresh. The spray was truly beautiful and a fitting final tribute to her husband and my friend. I received flowers from flower city two days ago & nothing was as expected! The picture of the flower arrangement online was nothing like the one I received! My boyfriend & I called back that same day & no one picked up. The next business day we spoke to the manager & she offered to take off $10 which was barely enough to cover the delivery price! We suggested to get the exact flower arrangement we order online otherwise we didn't want the one that was delivered. She said they couldn't make it, so to bring back the flowers for a full refund. The Guy from Flower City called me this morning and asked me the orchid my son ordered for me they don't have that color. The color they have is a little lighter between pink and purple. I said that's fine. The guy just delivered the orchid which is dying. I refused to accept the flower and asked the guy stay a little while let me take a picture of the orchid. The guy just ran away. I can't believe they deliver the dying orchid for my Mother's Day present from my son in Hong Kong. That's insult to me and ruin my Mother's Day. This shop deserve "ZERO" star! I was very specific with the order I placed. Not only was it not correctly done it also had flowers that were obviously not fresh. I called to discuss the matter and was told I needed to speak to the owner. A person representing themself as the owner told me that even though the arrangement had flowers that were not fresh (roses were brown) and they were told no vases and no carnations, which they disregarded, that I had to call within 24 hours. They are closed on Sunday. I asked the woman named Sarah if she was the owner and she then told me no. I asked she take a message and ask the owner to call. This was a bereavement arrangement and it was not acceptable nor was it made as per requested. I will never use them again. I think to offer to send a less valued arrangement out at a later time is still not acceptable. It was embarrassing and not professional. I am still waiting on the REAL owner to return my call. I tried today and was told that I would need to ask Sarah herself about not being the owner. A shotty business as far as I am concerned. Ordered flowers for a friend with a new baby at local hospital. They delivered the wrong flowers on top of delivering the standard size when I paid of the deluxe size. Called to complain and they offered to pay me back the difference. I asked if he could do anything better, and he told me he could bring the correct flowers and pick up the wrong ones. "NO!" That's not cool considering she just has a baby and has no idea what is going on. Then I asked to talk to a manager and she offered to give me 20% back but I asked for more bc this was not my mistake ! She explained that she already paid the driver and that I would only be paying $10 for the arrangement and she didn't like that. Come on ! Cheats & liars! Total rip off! Do not use this flower shop. We ordered 12 bunches of baby's breath for my daughters' first communion. The manager named Sarah Dominguez told us they would be double the size and of better quality (the tiny flowers would be bigger) than the ones sold at the supermarket and that justified the price for each (which was double $16). When we picked them up, the bunches were exactly the same size as the ones at Kroger (we bought one to compare) and the flowers were smaller even when completely open! She refused to either give us a refund or add more to compensate for the size. Oh! And she added a bunch of the same brand as the ones they sell at kroger - it seemed like she ordered 11 and ran out to kroger to buy that extra one. We were furious and she kept talking (mind this was on the phone because she refused to come back to the store to face us), admitted she had not inspected the flowers and pretty much treated us like we were idiots and could not tell that she was ripping us off. Her repetitive lame excuses were completely rehearsed. And to add the cherry on top, as we were walking out, a lady stopped us to ask what had happened, we quickly explained and the lady showed us the corsage she had ordered and what she had actually received (a turd of course).
