Since he sells from the LA Wholesale Flower Mart in downtown Los Angeles, the prices are simply unbeatable. We got quotes from a few other florists for the exact same flowers we were ordering from Mr. Bill and they wanted to charge two and three times more than he charged us for the exact same thing. Because of this pricing, we were able to go with really gorgeous flower arrangements and have more flowers than we could have for the same price somewhere else. Besides pricing, the best part about Mr. Bill and Michelle at this place is their enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to help you find your vision and run with it. Mr. Bill was so receptive to our ideas/thoughts and helped us brainstorm the perfect bouquets and arrangements. Flowers by Appointment did a terrific job on the flowers for our summer wedding. We met with Mr. Bill's assistant at the flower mart only about two and a half weeks before the wedding. My wife did all the deciding and I just agreed to everything but she picked some combination of roses and peonies in pink. We worked with the assistant for about an hour deciding on what we wanted for bouquets, boutineers, tables, and the altar. She had a lot of good tips on how to work in the wedding colors of pink and brown. We made a few changes to what we ordered by e-mail soon after our meeting. The day of the wedding everything showed up as ordered and without a hitch. I though the table arrangements and the bouquets were particularly beautiful. I thought the altar itself was a little sparse but I don't think other people noticed. We had no choice but to use Flowers by Appointment because we had booked our wedding through Fantasea Yachts but I would not hesitate to use them again. They were professional and talented at what they do. 12 table arrangements, 6 boutineers, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, the bride's bouquet, and the altar came out to about $700-$800. read more

My wedding was March 2011 on one of Fantasea Yacht's yacht. I worked with Mr. Bill directly as a referral from Fantasea Yachts and he was wonderful and extremely patient. I changed my design about 5 times and he was always cheerful during our meetings. The bouquets and arrangements turned out stunning and exactly the way I wanted it to look. I bought my own arrangement containers. I found them at Home Goods. I fell in loved with them and had to use them for my wedding. I also wanted to use giant ranunculus that are always available in Temecula's farmers market for my flowers which Bill and I could not find in the flower market. Wedding day came and he completely OVER DELIVERED! he gave us extra flowers for the tables (which we didnt ask, nor pay for) he gave us extra flowers for the groomsmen and dads just in case (which we totally didnt even think about) and he went out of his way and met us in our hotel to drop off the bouquets for the girls when he definitely didn't have to. Mr. Bill was my absolute favorite vendor from my wedding back in September 2011. He was funny, genial, and really listened to what I wanted. Most of all, his arrangements were amazing. I looooved the table centerpieces and my dreamy bouquet. I was blown away by the two floral arrangements he created for the altar, they were just gorgeous! I was also so pleasantly surprised by how beautifully he decorated my cake, I couldn't believe it was mine. The fabric drapes he added to the boat also gave a nice dramatic and colorful pop to our reception. His prices were very reasonable, and he accommodated last minute changes and additions. He threw in flowers for Mary's Altar for our wedding free of charge, and tried to save us money wherever he could. Mr. Bill designed all of the centerpieces for our wedding. At first, there was some confusion. My husband and I dedicated each table (8 total) to special people in our lives, six deceased and two living. We wanted the centerpieces to match the personality of the person who represented the table. Once I explained the concept and provided Mr. Bill with photographs and descriptions of each person, he got it. I gave him some ideas, but for the most part, I told him to use his imagination. I trusted his judgment. Once he realized how much creative freedom he had, he loved the idea and totally went for it. My only regret is our photographer didn't get good pictures of each individual centerpiece. Mr. Bill's centerpieces were so popular that our wedding guests fought over them. Honestly, I haven't the foggiest idea how this guy has such high yelp reviews. Let me list off the ways he almost ruined our wedding. My wife's first appointment with Mr Bill began with him making fun of her in front of my mother. He literally told my wife that she was "high maintenance". Awesome way to impress a bride. My wife, like so many women, has been dreaming of her wedding day for many years, and had very specific wishes for her flowers. By the end of the appointment Bill had promised her all kinds of great flowers and she was happy again. When they went back for a second appointment to see some sample arrangements, Bill had completely forgotten to make them! So he laughed and said "come back in a half an hour, I'll whip something up for you." Seriously dude? What he "whipped up" did not contain the flowers they had agreed on. Not to mention that my bride had informed Bill that she was coming from out of state and her time was precious. On to the wedding day. My wife and I had agreed that things inevitably go wrong at weddings and to just let things go and have a great time. So the only thing my bride really cared about was her bouquet. Let me tell you, and I'm not kidding, her bouquet looked like it fell out of a moving truck and was run over by a car. Maybe that's what actually happened. She specifically asked for peonies. At the last minute Bill swapped them out for ranunculus'. Not the same flower Bill! But there is a HUGE difference in price. He still charged us the same, but he brought his cost WAY down and seriously upset my wife in the process. Awesome. The bouquet was also half the size it was supposed to be (only slightly larger than her bridesmaids'), and was wrapped in a dirty ribbon tied maybe by a 6 year old. Bill did offer to get a small portion of our money back to us, which, 6 months later, we have yet to receive. We too went through FantaSea Yachts, and I sincerely hope that they have other florists they are now referring their clients to. read more

What a great find! A florist in the Downtown Flower Mart who's not only wholsale but has designer flowers at wholesale prices. Its not a fancy schmancy flower shop, but Mr. Bill has been designing arangements probably as long as LA's been a hot spot! He's the best designer I've ever met with rock bottom prices (because he doesn't have a BH address). Its a workshop that you visit, so its not perfectly neat, but its a creative space. Quality and Affordable Mr. Bill is the main florist and he makes the most beautiful designs. His website does not do him justice. He was contracted with our venue so we made an appointment and he was just amazing! Delivered my flowers before the wedding for the photos of the bridal party, beautiful set-up, extras for just-in-case. He was awesome. I am sure he had a team with him but on your big day you don't get a chance to see those things. There were no problems at all, and that was such a relief to not have to worry about anything. Mr. Bill is AMAZING! He has a great sense of humor and a refreshing personality. I loved working with him over all our wedding vendors, and all our vendors were great, but personality goes a long way. He went above and beyond and every aspect of the wedding he touched exceeded my expectations. The bouquets, which were roses, hydrangea and baby's breathe were beautiful. The baby's breathe boutonnieres were perfect and the floral and sand designs he did at the ceremony site were incredible. Our centerpieces were jus better than I imagined, in fact better than I saw, because he does a great preview appointment where he takes you down to the flower mart and you get to hand pick what you like and don't like and he makes mock ups of various items for you. He did a flower crown for my flower girl which was a must have on my list and she looked precious. He spent extra time with both mothers to make the corsage of their dreams and just really put his heart and soul into every part or the design of our wedding. Every time we visited him he would show us some part of another's wedding he was working on, so you know he is much in demand and loves what he does. During one appt. my mom and my mom in law came to help and give input and he really tuned into what me and my groom wanted over their suggestions. He kept making sure I got what I wanted and that was what made him the perfect wedding vendor! His prices- just cannot be beat! First off Bill is a great guy. He is so sweet and so passionate about what he does. Bill came as a package with our venue. He is based downtown which is where we went for our meetings. I had a general idea of what I wanted for the wedding but didnt know how to put it into a reality. Bill did a great job of taking my vision and putting it into beautiful centerpieces, bouquets, a chuppah, and isle decorations. It looked great. The downfall was, that we were told to pick up the flowers at 1:00 but they were not ready, at 2:00, they were still not ready. We got to the point where we are taking bridal party pictures and did not have bouquets and boutineers in them because they still had not arrived. Halfway through our photos they finally came. The other issue was I saw at least two tables that Bill missed putting centerpieces on which was a bit embarassing. However our head table looked incredlbe and his prices can't be beat. He is great at working with people on a budget and you will definetely get a lot of bang for your buck. read more
