I came in on a Monday for a Saturday prom looking for a custom corsage and boutonnière. On the way to my best friend's Pinning Ceremony, I made a quick stop at Flowers by Robert Taylor. I had done some research ahead of time and this spot stood out as the most reputable along my route. As I walked in, I was greeted with a "What can I get for ya?", the kind of line you'd expect from a drive-thru convenience store back in the '80s. Not exactly warm and fuzzy, but something about it felt familiar. Like the kind of guy who may sound gruff, but still takes his time to get it just right. I said, "I want to get a bouquet for a friend's pinning ceremony." Without missing a beat, he replied, "What school?" After digging through my memory for a second, I answered, "Azusa Pacific." He didn't say much after that, just pointed at the cooler and said, "Those two are ones I already made." Both arrangements were beautiful. I even asked ChatGPT which one would be more appropriate for the occasion, and it chose the blue one with white lilies, which turned out to be a perfect pick. At the ceremony, my friend was absolutely thrilled with the bouquet, and I received so many compliments that I lost count. And, it would have cost me double, if I had bought this in DTLA. Honestly, I think it was one of the nicest arrangements at the whole event. I bookmarked the shop on Yelp right away. No frills, no small talk, just great flowers, done right. I rarely post reviews, however, this was a must. Robert was very professional, took the time to listen to what I needed for the floral arrangements. He came through with very little time, met my budget, delivered on time and most importantly, the floral arrangements were beautiful just perfect with white and peach, my mom's favorite color, just as I asked. The venue looked great with the centerpieces and although it was a tribute for our mom and I was not looking for compliments I received a lot of them. I had chocolate and flowers delivered for my mom's birthday and it was a super easy process. I did everything online and there were many nice floral arrangements to choose from. My mom loved the flowers. I ordered Saturday and everything was delivered on time that Tuesday (her birthday). I wasn't sure what kind of chocolate she was going to get but they sent a nice box of chocolates from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I priced a few other places online and this place looked quality but not astronomically expensive. Delivery was $21 but I can't complain because I'm not local and would have no other way of getting these to her. Disappointed with the customer service. It was my first time at this location today, and I would have appreciated if the gentleman helping me was more informative and welcoming. I expected him to guide me through the different bouquet sizes and prices, and to show me the variety of flowers available so I could better communicate my vision--something other florists have done for me in the past. Since this is his specialty and store, I assumed he would provide suggestions and help me choose from the options, as you'd expect from any professional. Instead, he made a remark along the lines of, "If you don't tell me what you want, I don't know how I can help you." I thought that if he had been more helpful and shown me some options, it would have benefited both of us. I was quoted $65 for the bouquet size I selected from the fridge, and I requested light pink, yellow, and purple flowers. However, when the bouquet was made, it was much darker--featuring indigo, dark purple, yellow, and bright pink--completely different from the soft pastel tones I had requested. Given how short and impatient he had been, I didn't bother to point out that the colors weren't what I envisioned. Then, he asked if I would pay with cash or card. Since he originally quoted $65, I opted for cash. When he rang up the transaction, it came to $70 and some change. I asked if I could switch to paying by card, as I didn't have enough cash, and he condescendingly explained that tax was added. It wasn't the tax that bothered me--it was the lack of communication. If he had simply informed me of the full total before asking how I wanted to pay, I could have avoided the situation altogether. The entire experience, from the moment I entered the store, felt dismissive and unprofessional. I even asked when I arrived if he had time to assist me, as I was trying to be considerate. Despite being unsatisfied with the final bouquet, I still paid, even though I didn't have to. I could have walked out or asked him to fix the bouquet to my liking, which would have taken more of his time. He should have appreciated the fact that I chose not to do so. To draw a comparison from my own work: when patients tell me about their health concerns, I provide tailored medication options and explain the side effects, giving them choices based on their needs. This type of interaction isn't difficult--it's basic customer service, no matter the profession. Lastly, if he was having a bad day, that's no excuse for the snarky and condescending attitude. Personal issues should be left at home; professionalism is key in any business. If you act like you don't need my business, then I won't be a returning customer. I'll take my business somewhere else where it's appreciated. read more

I ordered this beautiful wreath for a special woman who has been like a mother to my husband. The customer service was great but was not impressed with the wreath. I paid over $300 for this arrangement and to be delivered. When I arrived to the viewing I was a bit disappointed. What can I say about Robert? He's a great florist and he gives you exactly what you want. I found a picture online of something my wife would like not knowing anything about flowers and Robert was nice enough to let me know what the flowers were and let me know that he could do the arrangement for a given price, this is the third year I've gone with Robert and every year my wife is ecstatic with his arrangement. he was even nice enough to stay an extra hour because I was caught in traffic so I could pick up the arrangement. I would like to say that this shop is very helpful, informative and came through for me in the clutch. Ordered flowers on Friday to be picked up on Saturday at noon. The didn't know what to get, the gentleman was very helpful with his input. On top of that they close at 3pm on Saturday and I didn't know that. Saturday came around and I could get free from the wife to pick up flowers to surprise her. I came a little bit after 4pm and he was still there doing paperwork and handed me my order. I requested different pink flowers and gave her my budget (under $40), and she made a gorgeous bouquet in under 30 minutes. The host asked where I got these flowers as it was the most beautiful bouquet she had ever received. A few days later I was contacted by Rosa and she was amazing. She was so friendly and answered all my questions and gave quotes. She was always quick to respond and making a deposit was simple. They came a day before my event and I was shocked how fast they worked and how beautiful the tent and chandelier were. The tableclothes and chairs were clean and they came the next day to pick up.
