There's no hours listed for Sunday and the man had his feet up on the desk with his shoes off- valid question just to be answered with "is the sign on that says open?" We got an order delivered this morning and the delivery man, Jose said that they always have trouble delivering to our large condo complex of 1296 units. I asked if he had a map of the property and he replied 'no'. I said I would call their office and get an e-mail address and would forward a map and delivery notes. I called later on and got a very rude male who said that they already had a map and he hadn't got time to discuss these issues, they were busy. I was only trying to help them. Compared to some of the other arrangements at the funeral this one stood out with a very subtle mix of colors, the peonies/roses and filler were just the right tone for the event. The flowers were very fresh, smelled wonderful, and received many favorable comments. This basket arrangement was the only one taken to the wake by the family, they were seen putting it in one of their cars to enjoy at home after a long day of memories. The shop called after I placed the order to confirm the time they should arrive for the viewing since there was a viewing at one venue and service the next day at another. I would like to comment on this Florist's service, more than anything else. My wife had her Birthday recently and I wanted to send her flowers (Purple is her absolute favorite color). I Did so through 1800Flowers.com which "Flowers by Silvestri" gets work from. When I placed the order I chose a very specific arrangement because of the colors of not only the flowers but the vase. When my Wife received the flowers she had no idea I sent them, and of course she was happy to have them. She then made a comment that they looked a little aged...not fresh. I thought nothing of it and then asked her how she liked her purple flowers. She said they were not purple. I asked her if anything was purple, nothing! I then told her to take a picture of the flowers and send it to me. The flowers she received were NOTHING like what I ordered. Out of 5 flowers that were supposed to be in the arrangement, there was one that was correct, and it was the wrong color! I could have dealt with one or two things being different but the whole arrangement was wrong. I contacted 1800Flowers about the mistake and they apologized and told me that they would have the flowers re-sent the next day. I was happy to hear this. However "Flowers by Silvestri" then called my wife and asked her why she didn't like the flowers. She tried her best to tell them that they were all wrong but because she was not the one who ordered them, she was not able to describe in detail everything that was wrong. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't have called me! So I thought I would call them and explain what was wrong and why 1800Flowers was having the flower redelivered. When I called I did so in a very kind manner. My intention was to clear up the issue with them and explain why they were not acceptable. I proceeded to tell the Man who answered the phone why they weren't right. He then got defensive and said that they couldn't fill the order with the right flowers. I wondered, why would they even try to fill the order if they had none of the right things? Or why not call me and tell me and ask if we could do something different? Instead they sent a very sad arrangement of flowers to my wife hoping it would fly. I continued to try to explain how I ordered them for a very specific reason and when I order something I expect to get that product. This is when the man became very rude and very unprofessional with me. He proceeded to ask me if I believed in god, because "what goes around, comes around" as he said. He accused me of cheating them out of money because they were now forced to deliver a new arrangement of flowers. I thought to myself...Is he serious!? He was outright accusing me of cheating him when they had to correct their own mistake. I have NEVER in my life been treated so rudely and been so utterly disrespected by a business owner because of THEIR own mistakes. The story ends with them sending an arrangement of flowers today to my wife which is much closer to what I ordered. Why they weren't able to send what they did today, yesterday, I do not know. I have my theories but there is one thing I know for sure..."Flowers by Silvestri" has the rudest customer service I have ever experienced in my 36 years of living, and that is NO joke. They literally cancelled my order, would not tell me who ordered the flowers, and hung up on me. A brusque man from the shop called to say I was not home and could not deliver, and then DEMANDED to know when I would be home. When I indicated that I would be home for the next half hour only but not the rest of the day -- he literally yelled at me, bullied me, and said my order was cancelled. Another two calls later to try to work out delivery, and he told me my order was cancelled and to never to call them again. Well, THAT won't be a problem, but I urge you NOT to order from them either. There are plenty of florists that we can give your business too, even if you have a little doubt the negative reviews here. So I called the florist to get the order number to make a complaint with ftd and the owner would not give it to me. He was very rude and wasn't customer service oriented at all. Valentine's Day is a boon to flower shops in the same way that the Christmas season is to most other retailers; it's a great opportunity to provide excellent service and products to new customers, and to continue developing positive relationships with existing ones. I received a bouquet of flowers from Silvestri on Valentine's Day, but they did not look the same as the photographs on their website. Where the picture showed at least a dozen or so roses, white lilies were used instead. I called Silvestri not to cause a commotion but to see if they had made a mistake in the order. The attitude I got in response caught me completely off guard. Understand that I am not a "customer from hell" -- I am not going to nitpick if a rose is slightly wilted or something relatively minor. I am reasonable and only expect truth in advertising. The gentleman did explain to me that the roses in the photograph were fillers and could be substituted for "anything else", but I asked him to sympathize with me as I had seen no such language on their website. No sympathy was forthcoming as he: 1. Hung up on my boyfriend 2. Tried to convince me that the lilies were the *same* flowers as the roses in the photograph (????) 3. Tried to persuade me to wait until after Valentine's Day (um, somehow getting flowers *after* Vday just doesn't have the same effect) 4. Then recanted and began insisting that they would not redeliver and that I would have to drive out by myself to have them exchanged; Now, maybe it's industry practice to substitute fillers; if this is the case I do thank Silvestri for the education. However, I hope that the patronizing attitude and general lack of customer service is not the norm; I placed a similar order on 1800Flowers and got what I wanted. Easy as pie, end of story. Thank you 1800Flowers. I am giving Silvestri 2 stars because the flowers they delivered were of decent quality, and the delivery person was very nice. However, I have to draw the line there because of the misleading picture but *mostly* because of the terrible attitude I received when I called the store. If they had explained that: 1. it was crazy hectic because of Valentine's Day; and/or, 2. they had made a mistake; and/or, 3. they had run out of the right flowers; and/or 4. the picture on the website needed to be updated; ... basically *anything* to at least trying to reasonably explain what had happened--I would have been okay with that. However, trying to convince me that a rose is the same as a white lily just ain't gonna cut it. This was the first time I have ever bought anything from this place. My date for prom decided to buy my corsage here because it was close by. I decided to buy his boutonniere from here too so it would match. My date bought me a 4 white rose corsage that was at least $30. 15-20 minutes after putting it on me, a flower snapped off. We didn't even get to the venue yet. On the other hand, the boutonniere I got him cost $11. The rose on it was very small, the leaf was plastic, and the ribbons were so tiny you had to go up close to see the colors. First time in years I received a bouquet that not only looked gorgeous with thick beautiful flowers but actually smelled like roses!!!! More surprising, a week later they looked new! I needed purple -lots and lots of purple-and that's exactly what I got. They asked me how much I wanted to spend, what flowers I wanted and when I wanted it. I told them how much I wanted to spend, named the first to flowers I could think of and then said "what else is purple?" So I got purple roses, purple orchids and some other purple things. I mentioned Yelp and I got a free teddy bear, which I opted to tie to my girlfriend's flower arrangement rather than snuggle with... I'm still up in the air on that decision. I gotta' say, this place really kept me out of the doghouse this time. One star off because they told me to come back in 15 minutes and when I came back in 20 they told me another 10. When I asked what the florist could do as we wanted a pink arrangement, he asked for price first then directed me to ftd catalogs. He promptly left us alone. When we chose one, he didn't have much in stock and said if we called in advance, he'd be able to have the exact one -- lead time one week!
