Joy at Flowerthyme was an absolute joy to work with. To my surprise, up until I met with Joy, finding a florist was one of the more disheartening tasks in wedding planning. Various florists had ridiculous minimums and when I eventually found florists that did not have minimums, they were unpleasant to work with. The first time meeting with Joy, she said "planning your wedding day florals should be the most fun and stress-free part of wedding planning" ...and she made it so! Joy was responsive, enthusiastic, and both receptive and encouraging when it came to to my vision and preferences. She was flexible and easy to collaborate with via Zoom, text, and email, as I am a D.C. resident and was doing all of my planning remotely. She was patient and understanding with changes. Most importantly, the flowers on my wedding day turned out beautifully. What she delivered was above and beyond what I had even expected or could have dreamed. Hi,  I just got home from vacation in Italy and my mother in law sent me the picture of the Mother's Day arrangement that I sent her from your store. I have to be honest, I am very upset with the arrangement. It looks like the arrangement was made with whatever flowers were left over from other work. The couple of roses that were there were wilted and the colors did not go together. I was expecting a beautiful arrangement based on your website and was hoping that by choosing the custom arrangement option the florist would have fun with their creativity putting a Mother's day arrangement together. I also was hoping by choosing a local florist I would have gotten a nice arrangement vs something a 1800 flowers would send.  Overall I was embarrassed by the arrangement. read more

All our communication was over the phone and through e-mail and Joy called anytime that she had a question about what exactly I wanted. I have to review Flowerthyme and Joy because I was absolutely thrilled with our wedding flowers. Every detail from the alter arrangements to my perfect bridal bouquet was just what I had been hoping for. Joy did a great job of meeting with me to discuss flowers, colors and decorating ideas. I love color and flowers but am not an expert. She was very helpful in guiding me to the final decisions all of which were beautiful. I would find photos of inspiration and she would tailor them to suit our venue and color scheme. She was great about assessing how many pieces would be needed to make the reception look great. We were married on September 24th, 2011 and she was very thoughtful about which flowers would be available in late September and look great for the wedding.
